It shows strength of character. To be able to control oneself from lewdness, to control ones desires and only act in a way that is proper and dignified and pleasing to God, to not boast about one's qualities and arrogantly consider oneself better than other - because you realise that Allah is the Greatest and that your purpose as a humble servant is to serve Him by living life as He pleases - these require inner, moral strength.

Uthman R.A was the most good looking son in law of Prophet Muhammad Salalahu Alaihe Wasalam. Prophet Muhammad Salalahu Alaihe Wasalam once said if He had more daughters, He would have got them married to Uthman R.A as well. He was the only man with the honor of marrying not one but two of Prophet Muhammad Salalahu Alaihe Wasalam beautiful daughters and queens of Jennah. Uthman R.A also had the honor of holding keys of Kaaba and his family will continue to be the protectors of Kaaba till end of this world. Its heartbreaking to see such a blessed man of Jennah went through so much pain. May Allah keep Him happy with his Great father in law and wives in Jennah, Ameen

BTW I have a doubt , I have always wondered how the scholars or historians of islam get to know about incidents like precious dreams like the ones of Uthman (ra) . I mean this was not when he is healthy , he is almost going to die right .... and also he was being assassinated ... so to whom might he have told this ?? Is there any reference that anybody knows .... if u do please answer me :)

Shamna Muneer The house of ‘Uthman (RA), was besieged for 40 days. For 40 days, he would fast during the day and would pray Salah during the night. Upon the 40th night, ‘Uthman (RA) saw in a dream Prophet :saw: and the Prophet :saw: said, “O’ ‘Uthman! The fast that you have been keeping for 40 days tomorrow you open the fast with us.” And when ‘Uthman (RA) woke up, his wife, Anaila (RA) said, “He was in an elated mood, he was in a happy mood.” And the first thing he did, he went out and spoke to the guard saying, ‘I ask you for the sake of Allah do not shed anybody’s blood on my behalf.’ Then he took the Qur’an and began to recite the Qur’an. One of the rebel jumped over and this rebel grabbed the beard of ‘Uthman (RA) and he calmly said, “Leave my beard, because indeed your father used to honour this beard.” The rebel’s hand left because he remembered not only how his father honoured but how the Prophet :saw: and how everybody else honoured ‘Uthman (RA). And when he heard these words, he left. Then two other Egyptians jumped over the wall and they knew no virtues of ‘Uthman (RA). And when ‘Uthman (RA) saw them coming, the first thing he did was he tied his Izaar to end the of his time, his ‘Awrah wouldn’t be uncovered. Then these rebels came and struck ‘Uthman (RA) on his head with a piece of iron. And the blood began to pour from the head of ‘Uthman (RA). The first place where the blood fell was the Qur’an and on the verse, “Sa Yak SikahumulLah” “Allah will suffice you against them.”

The authority provoked sedition and bloodshed, and thus this sedition has caused the killing of the best companions and followers and opened killing and fighting among Muslims until the Day of Resurrection...

We know, some people hate the fact that we don't make takfeer over all companions. So, don't worry. We know. I hope Allah will give you a chance to get good source in your deen.
+Abdul Salam I hope you understand people who can hide behind 4 broken swords and run away from a battlefield can ignore the sunnah of prophet Muhammad saw pbuh & A Ali asw sunnah is prophet Muhammad's sunnah
+Abbas Ali . I believe you have your own version of sheerah (history), and you build your creed upon that version. And no matter how long the discussion could take, it should end up to how you authenticate your narration in accepting the information.
For those who claim that the authentication must be taken for granted from the Imams as they are ma’shum (free from mistakes) then ofcourse “easier”. But if rationale and logic are still working well, then that won’t work, the narration chain should be studied to get a valid information.
Now, as I believe that narration chain should be studied, and agree that the ones in Bukhari are all authentic ones, then I would be easily find answers of your claim that “Uthman was running away from war therefore he is not among the
followers of the Prophet -saw-”
Here is the caption of story narrated in Bukhari about how Abdullah ibn Umar replied a man from Egypt regarding Utsman's absence from the war of Uhud and Badr.
In short, Ibn Umar said:
"As for his flight on the day of Uhud, I testify that Allah has excused him and forgivenhim, for Allah decreed, “Surely those of them who turned their backs on the day when the two armies met did so because Satan made them slip because of some of their lapses. But Allah has pardoned them; He is All-Forgiving, All-Forbearing.”(Q.S.Ali-Imran: 155)
And as for his absence from the (battle of) Badr, it was due to the fact that the daughter of Allah’s Messenger -saw- was his wife and she was sick then, Allah’sMessenger -saw- said to him, “You will receive the same reward and share (of the booty) as anyone of those who participated in the battle of Badr (if you stay with her)"
Again, you will of course bring your own version of history, but I am sorry, we do not make takfeer to the entire companions of the Prophet Muhammad saw, for Allah have declared:
“And the first forerunners [in the faith] from the Muhajireen and the Ansar andthose who followed them with good conduct - Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment” (QS 9:100)
And we believe that Utsman is among the forerunners who followed the Hijrah fromMakkah to Madinah, therefore he is among those whom Allah be pleased with.
I will make no further argument about this issue as i know we have different way of how to authenticate the information. This comment is made only to show how your version is different from ours.
+Abdul Salam Look whos talking, Bukhaari is filled with weak and obscure ahadeeth, i admit us shias also have a couple, but the ones that Abbas narrated have the strongest of proofs and narraters. My point being, dont claim all bukhaari ahadeeth of bukhaari are coorect, when There are tens of obscure ones
