A terraced house is specifically one of a row of narrow, multistorey houses which each share side walls with their neighbours.
In older terraces, there was often a continuous loft space separated by partial or weak partitions, providing many opportunities for narrative shenanigans (see the film Shooting Fish, in which a pair of conmen use connecting roof spaces to sell the same loft insulation to a whole row, and the Narnia novel The Magician's Nephew, in which the protagonists access the titular magician's study via the loft connection.)

I don't know how it works in England, but in the US they would have the power to round up anyone in the location and secure them until they finish their execution of the warrant (for officer safety). Given that they are trying to remove evidence from the scene, the thugs could be charged even w/o fighting back adding charges.
Though the use of Lucy would be illegal until a use of force was warranted.
Lol, that line about sharp cheese was both cringe and hilarious.
Okay what's the British definition of geezer, in the US a geezer is an old person?

American police practices are rarely a good guideline for how things work in other countries. (Thankfully.) British "geezer" kinda means "dude who is old-school in a good way."
