Ahhh Jeff Ward , that takes me back, I remember when he started out on a factory backed Honda CR125 Elsinore back in the 70's. Good memories never repeated (I've just had a massive Stroke & should be dead)Trev New Zealand
Man, this whole thing is just a list of legends of the sport. I was 13 and I was there, but I only kinda remember the final. I clearly remember 70,000+ fans yelling "Whoo-ya!" in unison (KMET 94.7 legendary LA radio station battle cry).
Look how full that stadium is....good times. The announcers always kill me from back in the day.... I don’t think I hav ever seen a MX or Supercross race from the 80’s when they did not mention how physically demanding the sport is😂😂😂😂 it was a consistent part of the script for sure. Love it👍
I agree except the tracks were horribly built especially for those heavy old bikes there was no flow and it was hard for them to even really get too much speed but definitely took a lot more Grit and strength to ride those bikes and tracks for sure
Your awesome! It was a shit Show riding those bikes.people have no clue what these boys went through. They wore kidney belts to keep their guts in there stomach. No bulshit!! These are true men!!
Look at the stands! Packed full! Now they are.....what 20%? Back then you'd think "that could be me! A new bike is 2 weeks pay." Now a 250f is nearly 10k and needs 2-3k of motor work every season or sooner. The sport became out of reach for the average person.

damn good stuff. and Bruce, I mean Caitlyn, did a pretty good job as well.
Donnie Hansen... so smooth and the master of concentration. Well done, sir!
WOW!! Man , how did you get the video so clear? That was the best early 80's recording I've ever seen. Thanks for posting this!

It’s so funny watching the little cross ups over the finish line jumps ! And the flat landings...OMG, I forgot how that was normal!
😂😂

Real motocross. Men were men, bikes weren't corporation billboards and tracks were made for real motocross riders.

Bikes have changed as much as Bruce Jenner

I think Donny Hanson's wife Lisa was likely so proud of her big boy moto hubby!
The crunchers? LOL
Stadium is packed
That guy in the tracks with head phones and mic. Is not Marcy D'arcy from married with children?😆

put the bong away. Your 20% statistic is nothing short of ridiculous, attendance is way up.
I paid 25$ in 1990 at Angels stadium to see J Baile and J omara farewell...lat time I asked (2016)150$ no way. ..
Last time I looked I seen 2 or 3 empty seats for every filled one. This is 3rd grade math here...
those are works bikes would i love to have one of those for the mantle
History was made when Bruce Jenner became the first women motocross commentator.
cool
Bruce Jenner 😯
Lol Bruce/ Caitlyn Jenner announcing
Bruce Jenner sounds so gay. Those ‘82 RC250’s were flat out ridiculous! If Wardy only stayed at Honda.

Bruce Jenner vs, "Bruceene".....
the tv does no justice as to how nasty this track is if there were amateurs on it it would be comical.
