Preciate the video. I have an r5 coming today that ive rented to go with my r7 and two 5d mark4 to shoot a wedding this weekend. I'm excited to try it out. But waiting to purchase the r5ii. And just some cc. I see you have a mic on.. but the audio wasn't where it should be. I suggest using a lav. Or checking your gains, etc.
Thanks for watching! I think the r5mk2 will be a good investment if you don’t have one of the current r series. I’m still in love with my r5 as it’s my workhorse! Yeah, I have another audio setup but I wanted to test out using this mic without the lav. The gains are a little lower now that I listen to it again! But thanks for the advice!
Yeah i just bought the R5 last month for two reasons. One,it makes a great combo with my R6m2, and second I do crop in sometimes and the extra having more pixels is really nice. Plus i bought it brand new at only $3,000. Great image quality for sure, however If given the choice i think I actually like the R6m2 a little better. Certainly better auto focus and better options for button customization. Great video.
The auto focus is great in the R5!! Also having that extra room to crop can come in handy! Buying it brand new is not a bad deal! It just means longevity for your business or for personal use!! Plus it has 8k so it will be good for a while! Thanks for watching the vid!! 🙌
The r5 Mk1 is a great option for many. It still is a contender amongst all the other brands and will stand its time! Congratulations on your upgrade! Thanks for watching 🙏🏽
With any camera there will be a price drop once another one comes out but it still retains its value on the market regardless! It’s not like the price will drop to $800 anytime soon; even the over heating r6 (mk1) still sells for a pretty penny. If it’s not in your budget, don’t force, get the r5 mk1 and you will still be satisfied! Thanks for checking out the video!! 🙏🏽
The focus on whether you want photo or video aspects is what will make/help your decision. I like the specs of the. We r5mkii but the fact that the overheating issue isn’t resolved as done with the r5c is kind of a bummer! And you have to purchase additional pieces just to make it work! So I would go with the r6mkii and wait for a r5mkii
@@StarLightDotPhotos Canon had no choice but to give an upgraded autofocus to keep up with the likes of the Nikon and Sony. Those new features are pretty cool; but it’s a matter of preference and or needs. The r series line up is starting to look like how it did when the dslr 5 series were rolling out. Thanks for watching!
The 5dsr is a great camera! Made specifically for photography in mind. If you are not shooting video and you need all that resolution, yea, I’d agree!! But I love the capabilities of the R5 . It might not be for everyone but it all depends on the type of creative you are. Thanks for watching though.
This is not a camera for beginners. It is semi professional. For beginners entering Full Frame, Canon's R6 II is the way to go which comes at a lesser price point too.
Having a camera that checks many boxes when you first start out is crucial, just as it is to learn how to understand the basic functions/terms of photography. The R5 is semi professional yes but that doesn’t mean a beginner can’t use it. I will agree that the r6 mk2 is a great camera as well, even the first “R” series was pretty decent. All depends on the direction you are going and what your niche demands.
“The r5 and R5c share the same autofocus system” proceeds to show the r5c cinema autofocus. The cinema is system that is nowhere near the same system 😂😂. I’m gone.
A high-precision Dual Pixel CMOS AF system allows the EOS R5 C camera to reliably capture approx. 100% of the still-image area, with most Canon lenses. Thank you for watching! Granted innovation is inevitable, I just see this camera being Obsolete anytime soon considering that people still record on 10yr old cameras with less features. The classic 5d model is in many photographers household and still in demand (if in good condition) ; the first r is still a good camera as well! It all depends on your needs and what the use case scenario is unless you are the type that likes to chase specs. Either way Canon knows how to make a camera that lasts IMO!
I love the R5, and the R5c
They are both definitely great cameras! Thanks for watching!

Hello, i think about buy the r5 but i have a question, do you think the r5 is going to be less expensive after the release of r5 mark ii?

The auto-focus in the R6 MK II is super snappy. I think for a first mirrorless camera the MK II makes more sense.

Yeah the 5d is still amazing too
I think the 5series from Canon was just amazing! It changed the way we looked at cameras. Thanks for watching the video!
Still have Canon 5DSR and not find any reason to swtihc to R5 :)
