Few points from the match: 1. Need to bench White and Martinelli, they have been poor for a few matches in a row now. 2. We need plan B if defenders double team on our wingers. Our full backs are converts and do not really provide any width. Eg. Can send on Tierney and shift Zinny to midfield. Tierney could support Martinelli instead of him getting isolated on the byeline time and again. 3. Everytime Partey has an issue we don't play well. I heard he was still feeling the bruise on his ribs thus he had a very average performance yesterday. 4. Jesus would have been useful in such matches. He can dribble and wriggle his way through the tiny pockets of space here and there.
Well articulated on the problem Martinelli is facing. Zinny does not overlap and rather cuts into the midfield. This really isolates Martinelli as defenders always double team him. The same cannot be said at the other end as White always overlaps giving Saka the chance to cut in instead on his left foot.

The thing is, we saw the same game against Newcastle when it comes to dealing with our wingers which is where most of our offense comes from. They double up each time on Martinelli and Saka. Saka is only more efficient on his side, because he gets more support from Odegaard. The issue about is that we dont know yet how to deal against it, and all we do is just replacing the players, but playing the same strategy against that. I believe, in my humble opinion, the best way to go about it is changing to 4-4-2 and play more through the middle, while having the two up front making runs to open up more space on the wings. Thats why I think the best sub would be to bring Trossard for Xhaka. Put Martinelli and Eddie up front, Trossard on the wing, and have Odegaard behind them. Leave just Partey to distribute the ball. I might be totally wrong, but Ive seen how much we struggle against that, and I dont see many other ways to deal with it as we dont really have a physical type of striker. One more note, I like Vieira's style more than Odegaard. He gives me more of a classic number 10 vibe than Ode. We need someone who's quick on the ball and is looking to release it fast when the opposition has two CDMs who are also very physical. Odegaard was taking so many unnecessary touches and often was losing the ball.

I heard many people saying we had no passion and desire. But for me we got outdone by 3 defensive-minded hardworking midfielders in Onana, Docoure and Gueye. We have dominated the midfield in each and every single game we have played this season. But yesterday our midfield got absolutely dominated. Hence came the lackluster performance. Many teams will struggle at Goodison for the rest of the season. But for the ridiculous management of Lampard, everton have a very decent group of players, especially in midfield and defense. In games like this and Newcastle, I'd like to see Arteta change the approach with his substitutions rather than making like for like substitutions. If we are playing well and one or two players are looking off, then like for like subs will work. But yesterday it wasn't like Martinelli and Partey were playing poorer than the others. Its just the overall perfromance was very lackluster. So in a game like that, bringing Trossard and Jorginho on wasn't going to change anything. What I mean by change in approach is maybe bring Tierney on for Zinchenko and ask him to overlap Martinelli or bring Jorginho on for Martinelli and try to regain the control in midfield or bring Trossard on for Odegaard and give them something else to think. What was the reason of Partey's substitution when Arsenal was clearly being overrun by big bodies in the central of the park ? No surprise within moments he goes-off, Arsenal concedes. That goal could have been Avoided.
arsenal give a warm welcome to dyche is something that i thougt before.. arteta doesn't want blood from Everton is is something that i thought too.. but draw is i hope not losing 3 point.
In this type of physical game, a really strong midfielder who can keep the ball and win fouls will be really helpful. A player like Caicedo would help us a lot. I hope we can sign him in this Summer.
They call him the rock. No one can tackle him in trainings. I just saw a video of Brighton about their players and their skills. He is the strongest at Brighton and they consider him a destroyer.
Although I didn't watch this game, I have to say that from these highlights, we didn't play badly at all. I still believe. Blips were bound to happen at some point, but come on Gunners. We can do this. Also is just another level of class.
Our over reliance on wing player is becoming an albatross on the team. City already studied our game and used it to neutralise Saka. We hardly play through the middle or cross into the box for headers. Arteta needs to rejig this team tactics if we want to be successful
We failed to utilize our chances, secondly Arteta shouldn't have substituted partey., That really costs us the more .. but it's never the end of the road though.. let's come back stronger again in our next matches... COYGS 💪💪💪
@@eliudwahome4425 Did his performance give any hint that he was not fully fit ? On the contrary as long as he was there, we had a fighter against those physical Toffees. And probably wouldn't have conceded. Inexcusable.
@@user-rn5rz8hf3w you know that he pickup a knock during man city match? Arteta did not want to risk him too long in the pitch with physical game, for me is better to sub him off rather than he fully play then been injured for several weeks if he take some knock during that game. This game is like when we lose to man utd at old trafford as the new sub did not fully ready yet which the opponent took fully advantage of it.
As a Liverpool fan who has unfortunately looked back in May at points dropped during the year that has cost us championships to City…I hope that this one and a decision to have a 5’9 smaller midfielder mark a strong good in the air 6’1 center half on a corner, doesn’t come back to haunt you Gunners. It’s the little things like that, that do.
Nketia is not clinical. He misses too much. He is in the right spot often but man he misses, he needs to get his finishes addressed or we need to get rid of him… another wellbeck…
In games like this you have to punish them quickly, their confidence just grew every minute because we let it. If Nketia scored that chance he had, it would be game over…
Odegaard needs help around him when we are defending set pieces. He was marking Martinez when he scored that header. He was marking Tarkowksy too when he scored.
Disappointed about the result obviously, but you can’t always win, these types of games happen to every team in the world, and yet we are still 5 points clear on top. And we are still disappointed like we lost a final match, it’s shows how high is our standards now. We want to win the league and we have to go game by game. Next week we must win against Brentford then take the 3 points from Man City. We should keep supporting the boys. COYG🔴⚪️
That's mature analysis. Not the nonesense from social media blaming everything on Jan transfer window n Particular players. The game was balanced. We could have conceded more and scored severally. We move on. Even if we don't get a result in the next fixture hope we do I have more than enough reason to rally behind this team.
@@eliudwahome4425 Fans will always be behind their teams. We have been through worse, haven't we? That does not mean you can't criticise a bewildering decision such as Partey's substitution.
Newcastle had similar tactics and we didn't have an answer in that match either. Could the issue be that MA always maintains that we play our game, our system, our formation, which plays into the oppositions plan? Maybe if he had changed things at half time to put us in a low block (play them at their own game) it would have drawn them out and we could have gone for them on the break with long passes or over the top? Worse case is we then get a draw because the game goes nowhere, which is better than losing. We need to find a system to beat the low block otherwise more of the lower table teams will use it against us.
Seeing onana at the end pushing Everton fans to cheer them up pained me .. he showed so much passion than our players today , but i trust the boys and the manager to turn things around and collect three points from brentford, COYG💪
We lacked the experience and hunger in this match, these toffs got the best from a set piece but it’s a learning experience for us to asses who’s marking who in the box we can’t let up so easily
I blame this on lack of clinical finishing look at Nketiah and Odegaard both had great chances and both didn't take them that's the difference between winners and losers
Nketiah and Odegaard has to work on their shots. You dont need to put 110% power behind the shot. Odegaard has missed a lot of goal chances from cutback passes this season. Use your composure and hit the target.

It’s statements like yours that made us neutrals, who were cheering for Arsenal to end city’s monopoly, to make fun of you…
Enjoy your BOTTLE 🍼🍼🍼🍼
For the first time today i will be supporting Tottenham in their game against city
Enjoy city will crash them.
We go again next week, we’re still in a fantastic place. Almost everyone apart from Arsenal fans we’re hoping for a loss like today. Not like it’s needed but hopefully it’ll give the guys that bit more determination in the coming weeks. I’m/we’re right behind you guys, you have been so so good. Keep fighting. Coyg….
We can again boys, thanks for the effort, can’t win every time no matter how much I want to. Thank you Spursy, I know you guys secretly want us to win the league 😘
Best joke of the year
we lose together, we win together, we fight together, but the most important thing is we are together
What was the reason of Partey's substitution when Arsenal was clearly being overrun by big bodies in the central of the park ? No surprise within moments he goes-off, Arsenal concedes. That goal could have been Avoided.
Onana is brilliant
arsenal give a warm welcome to dyche is something that i thougt before.. arteta doesn't want blood from Everton is is something that i thought too.. but draw is i hope not losing 3 point.
We need a tall midfielder
For the next Match Tommy and Trossard has to start Ben and Gabi are out of form. COYG!!
Love U forever ,Arsenal❤
Although I didn't watch this game, I have to say that from these highlights, we didn't play badly at all. I still believe. Blips were bound to happen at some point, but come on Gunners. We can do this. Also is just another level of class.
Our over reliance on wing player is becoming an albatross on the team. City already studied our game and used it to neutralise Saka. We hardly play through the middle or cross into the box for headers. Arteta needs to rejig this team tactics if we want to be successful
Keep pushing Gunners ❤🤍
Fair play to them they made us play a scrappy game. Thought both teams were dreadful going forward. We move on nothing to dwell on
We failed to utilize our chances, secondly Arteta shouldn't have substituted partey., That really costs us the more .. but it's never the end of the road though.. let's come back stronger again in our next matches... COYGS 💪💪💪
Partey was not fully fit. Infancy He shouldn't have started. There Arteta should have rotated the squad. Mayb start with Trosard up front,
@@eliudwahome4425 Did his performance give any hint that he was not fully fit ? On the contrary as long as he was there, we had a fighter against those physical Toffees. And probably wouldn't have conceded. Inexcusable.
@@user-rn5rz8hf3w you know that he pickup a knock during man city match? Arteta did not want to risk him too long in the pitch with physical game, for me is better to sub him off rather than he fully play then been injured for several weeks if he take some knock during that game. This game is like when we lose to man utd at old trafford as the new sub did not fully ready yet which the opponent took fully advantage of it.
@@eliudwahome4425 starting trossad would have been the same the boys were not at their best not just 1 player
We will , we must , together
Very Good highlights, 5 mnt i love it
I think they were formidable opponent. Everton deserved to win. But ma boys fought well. Get ready for the next match, this is already history. COYG.
Nketia is not clinical. He misses too much. He is in the right spot often but man he misses, he needs to get his finishes addressed or we need to get rid of him… another wellbeck…
This. Spot-on. At this stage, even Martinelli down the middle would be better. He gets the basics right.
It was Partey position. Well, he on the bench by then. Bewildering decision.
It was one of those days. Things went wrong all the time. What's important is whether we can bounce back from this. We go again next Saturday!
Those fans celebrating! Fantastic atmosphere
Misspelled the title: *LOWLIGHTS | Everton vs Arsenal (1-0)
Great win, well played 👌🎉
We will be the champions at the end. Gunners for life
its okay , no team is invicible , keep up the heardworkd guys and focus
We need to support our boys more at Goodison Park. They need us Gunners.
We need to score our chances.............put up ur head and focus...
Onana um leão em campo. Precisamos de jogadores assim.
You decided to post highlights with a longer duration after we lost?
NKetiah oh no .. what that shoot. A ball fly high to the sky.
We need tactics for when teams double and triple up on the wings. Same thing happened with Newcastle
Even on bad days our football is good to watch
Games like this is when you need a guy like Jesus. He ruffles teams backlines and bends them out of shape n beats multiple players causing gaps.
We need to find a system to beat the low block otherwise more of the lower table teams will use it against us.
i Iove Arsenal❤️😍🥰😭😔
Seeing onana at the end pushing Everton fans to cheer them up pained me .. he showed so much passion than our players today , but i trust the boys and the manager to turn things around and collect three points from brentford, COYG💪
Guys need a support now. Everton was good yesterday
Let's go brush of and go again COYG 💪🏽
Assna fans were mocking Chelsea for a draw against Fullham, and they go and lose against Everton 💀💀💀💀
So you are happy with a draw after spending 200mil+ in one transfer window ? True Chelsea fan you are.
@@sheldoncooper1593 Happier than losing against Everton whith a super team of unkown players like Assna
Apart from loose we got, our gsme was fantastic we prayed very well it was just for Everton's chance but we still wine the premier league
We lacked the experience and hunger in this match, these toffs got the best from a set piece but it’s a learning experience for us to asses who’s marking who in the box we can’t let up so easily
COMEBACK STRONGER GUNNERS
Pls Start trossard, tomiyasu and Viera next match
James Tarkowski, pozdrowienia z Syberii!
what?
@@andreihiris6670 nothing
I blame this on lack of clinical finishing look at Nketiah and Odegaard both had great chances and both didn't take them that's the difference between winners and losers
Yep.
Ramsdale has a huge weakness of not coming for crosses and corners that he really should deal with. It is glaring
I said this time and time again! The goalkeeping department needs to address this 🤧🤦🏻♂️
This is what happens when you promise a star 💫 player but bring someone else …
We go again 👌
Arsenal focus🔥🏆
Una victoria que huele a salvación del descenso
We are so proud of you gunners ❤️🤍
Keep it going
Nketiah and Odegaard has to work on their shots. You dont need to put 110% power behind the shot. Odegaard has missed a lot of goal chances from cutback passes this season. Use your composure and hit the target.
