    Cool video! I was a senior project manager of the Nortel optical amplifier program "back in the last century"...and it was all built on the power of the EDFA science. I can clearly remember the day I was introduced to the physics behind it...and thought it was pure magic...and maybe it is!! LOL

    How do you power the optical amplifiers in an undersea cable?
    there still has to be a separate electrical power supply?
    How much power do you need for a transatlantic cable?
    There must be approximately 150 repeaters to be powered.
