My syrian hamster also did that at one point syrian's can be hard to please. I would recommend making boredom breakers for goose what I like to do is you can take a dish and put either hay or bedding in it and sprinkle some food or herbs in and mix it around instead of scatter feeding that way they have to dig to get the food. Another thing I like to do is I get a toilet paper tube and I put food in it and shredded up toilet paper then you can just fold the edges in also so they have to like work to get the food to get there brains stimulated. Another recommendation I have is doing free roaming by just making sure the room is hamster proof (like covering up cords and making sure they can't get stuck anywhere like under the door) and just letting your hamster free roam for a bit. Also just make sure you have chew toys and at least 6 inches of bedding so your hamster can properly burrow also make sure for a syrian you have at least a 10 inch wheel. I have a big wheel for when her new enclosure is set up as the one I have now although it’s big wasn’t meant to be the permanent one, so this one barely meets the 6 inches but Goose doesn’t seem interested in burrowing so the new one that’s going to be a DIY will be bigger then the one I have now plus a lot deeper. I have quite a lot products from Niteangel I’m working on a playpen as I’d love her to roam around but that’ll come soon. She just seems to like biting a certain part of her cage and she doesn’t do it for long but I don’t want it at all to keep her and her teeth healthy. Thank you for your recommendations I will take a look into them, hopefully once the new cage is sorted she will be way more happier since it’ll be more suitable for her x
@@XSniper2000X I hope she enjoys her bigger cage! just so you know the minimum wheel size for a syrian is 8 inches. You are a great hamster owner btw. Sometimes hamsters don't burrow unless they have at least 6 inches but my syrian has 8 inches of bedding and he still chooses not to burrow lol.
@@Hiiiiiiiii111 I went a bit over board with her new wheel, it’s the Large wooden Niteangle one and that’s around 11.6 inches I believe haha, I’m confident she will and hope that she does enjoy it too, I’ve got the niteangle burrow home I can’t remember the name but Victoria said in one of her burrowing vids that it can help them start to burrow so hopefully it does. Hi Victoria .. i took my hamster to the vets a week ago and i couldn't believe she said tabathas weight is 260 .. she's a big girl they said .. but she seem healthy but she makes a noise when she breaths sometimes.. so im keeping an eye in her x
@@VictoriaRaechel hi Victoria, well she's been twice so far with the same thing.. all they said is, it could be a small infection. So I've got given antibiotics on both occasions and this time at the moment it has stopped, but it did stop last time then the noise started again, but her nose seems a bit wet, but all ways when she wakes up then after she's fine. But if it continues the next option would be x.ray.... the noise seems to sound like squeaking when she breaths in an out, but at the moment she seems to have stop making the noise :)
It was my hamsters birthday on the 22nd and he got a new nitange wheel the one with the cork inside and the rest wood it’s height is also agustible he loves it ❤thankyou forbeing here for me
Evehthing she does is made with love these hamsters dont havs cages they live in full blown mansions Victoria is the best these animals are so BLESSED ❤
My hamster has extra dwarfism and the wheel i originally got for her was too heavy- by that i mean she tried everything to make it spin but it wouldnt move so i went up the road to temporarily get her a flying saucer (i know its not exactally ideal but they had nothing else) then the next day i went to a different pet shop and found a lighter wheel, its around 7.5 inches and since then ive found a larger one that she actually can use- around 10 inches! Happy ending! I get most of my information from your channel I learnt that a smaller wheel wasn't good for hamsters backs a couple of years ago from you so thanks from me and rascal!!
U have helped me so much cuz I have a hamster and I was worried I want looking after her propyl but I was because the people that told us about hamsters they all said diffrent thing thank u
I'm glad I've been able to help! Unfortunately for a long time hamster's have been cared for incorrectly due to lack of information. So many people including a lot of petstore's still will give out outdated information.
@@VictoriaRaechel when ever I’m at PetSmart there’s always a family getting a hamster with a critter trail in the cart and the employees saying it’s the best cage ever and hamsters love it. Every time I hear that I don’t even want to give them my money
I love doing hamster cage rearrangement and setup, although my dwarf hamster does not because it usually means he gets evicted for a bit and comes back to his food stashes depleted.
Hi Victoria First of all I want to say I'm happy to see Penny has gotten through the mite situation and you've done an amazing job to sanitize and refill the enclosure 👌 I have one question, how often do you replace the sand in the sandbox? I filled up my sand digbox with two of these niteangel bags you used in this video about a month ago and either the sand dig box or the area around it (or both) now REEK of urine but when I sift through it there's no clumped up sand Should I just replace all the sand? Seems like a lot of money to use every month just for sand only 😅 but of course I'm going to if needed Any suggestions? Sorry for long winded post but so happy to see Penny's beautiful setup ready for him 🙂
Thank you! If it smells like pee still it's probably a good time to clean out the whole thing :) I wouldn't say there's an exact amount of time to wait in between changing the sand out fully I'd say that's up to you and how often your hamster is using it as a bathroom!
I’m glad little penny is getting better!! Unrelated lol but do you have a favorite out of every hamster you’ve owned or if not which do you think is the cutest? 💗🐹
@@Hammy_House that's good, you can always add more as you go, some hamsters may prefer some substrates more than others. I know that my past hamster didn't like coco soil one bit for example. The must substrate is sand as they use it to clean themselves. If you have sand, cork granules and aspen shavings, that's already good
I usually add what I have available to me, there isn't really a set amount you *need* to have. Like @dreamingwide mentioned some hamsters will like certain substrates over others, I find some substrates my hamster's don't use at all so it really depends on them!
Also if you put a new substrate in there and your hamster doesn't seem to like it don't worry, give up to a week to adjust to the new environment! If I put a new substrate in my cage my hamster won't use it for up to a week
So cute! Pls can you do a video comparing the average sized rabbit hutch to how much it would be for a human? You have done this with a hamster cage before! Thank you! 😊
Hey Victoria! this was a really fun video! also if you ever have a hard time thinking of a video to make you can do a review on The Hamster Habit. I am a new RUclipsr and love to watch your channel i love your opinions.
I know in thepast you have done a "reaction to tiktok hamster videos" but what if you did it on yt? Some viewers may be young but wanna see the videos, its just a idea but ily channel so much and i hope your having a nice month ❤
Hi Victoria, the cage looks amazing so gorgeous!,i also have a question! When your doing the cage where does penny go?adores she like go in a travel thing
Thank you! Penny has been in a different enclosure while being treated for demodex mites so that's where he is currently, but if I'm spot cleaning the enclosure usually they can stay in the enclosure unless they want to come out them I'll put them in a travel carrier or let them free room in a hamster proofed area.
Hi Victoria, I was wondering if baking my hamsters food and/or sprays in the oven at 250 degrees for one hour would prevent bugs just as freezing it would since I don’t have a bug enough freezer? Thanks so much ❤❤
I probably wouldn't as temps over 120°f starts to degrade the vitamins and other nutrients in foods. You could divide the food up into small portions and freeze that way slowly over a longer period of time!
Hi Victoria! I was wondering how I could sanitize old hamster hides or if I should just get new ones. I’m getting a hamster in December and was wondering if I could reuse my last hamster’s wooden hides, but I wanted to sanitize them first. ❤
Hey Victoria! I just had a question for you. My Syrian hamster fur is developing dark patches. It doesn’t feel any different than the rest of her fur though. I just wanted to know if you knew anything about that. When trying to do research, I only found results for dwarf hamsters.
So so pretty 💕 I have a question, do The stilts under chamber Houses or other things need to touch the bottom of the enclosure? Or Can They be shorter? I hope this makes sense 🥹
Hi! I have a couple of questions! Do you ever clean your water bottles for the hamsters, and if you do, how do you do it? Also, are aquarium decorations safe for enclosures? There are some really cool ones out there, of course, leaving out the ones that have small entrances. Thank you for all of your videos, as someone who started out with a critter trail 😢
I don't use water bottles for my hamsters! But if I did I would clean them with soap and water and use a bottle/straw brush to clean the small areas of it! For aquarium decor it depends on what materials they're made of!
@@VictoriaRaechel Thank you! I have a water bottle and a water dish for my robo, but he seems to prefer the bottle and just puts his bedding in the water dish lol.
Hi, I love your channel so much and my birthday is just right around the corner. Should I get the two Niteangel cages that nickel has also do you have a video on Nichols new set up or did you do a new set up because I was watching a previous video and it looks like you did a little bit of a new set up❤
It's a bit expensive but if that's the enclosure you'd like it can be good for dwarves ☺️ I don't have a video on Nickel's exact set up though it'll be changing in a couple weeks.
@@VictoriaRaechel thank you so much. You’re very helping me out. I’m sorry I’ve been asking just I’m so curious but one more what breed exactly is Nick cause I know he is a hybrid dwaf , but I really like him and I was thinking getting one that looks similar
@@elizabethagresta5159 No problem! A hyrbid dwarf is a winter white & campbells dwarf, most are hybrid dwarfs unless you have a pedigree that states their lineage and can prove they're purebred winter white or pure bred campbells.
Hello Victoria! This may be a really dumb question but I was wondering how the hamsters don’t get stuck under the hides when they are below the bedding? Like can they see or something?
I just bought new items/hideouts for my hamster’s cage. I was wondering when would it be a convenient time to add her new items to her cage? During playtime in the pin or would it be ok to add them quietly while she’s sleeping?
I can only use a little bit of space like a metere or less. I'm worried a bit when I get it(I have been running more miles for my hammy) So like should I take it out more. I think I need a video on what to do if you cant get or do this Its all great quality content it justs stresses me out. I've done plenty of research.. [Around 100+ Google documents worth) Keep up the wokrk! 🤫I was typng fast so I cant type and iM lagging abit
I would definitely wait before getting one if you don’t have the space just yet, as it’s crucial that you’re able to provide them a minimum of 100x50cm/ 20”x40”
@@VictoriaRaechel Ik But I mean we have like NOWHERE else in the house should I let it out more ;-; It cant live in my guinea pig cage.. the only empty room - THe attic
If you don’t have the space it’s best to wait until you do, as it’s not fair for the pet. Even with playtime outside of the enclosure a hamster still spends a majority of their time in their enclosure.

Thank you for being so helpful and kind with your words, I hope the be the best owner I can for my Little Goose. You’re an amazing person and I hope you have a great day!
@@XSniper2000X thank you! have a great day.
I used this for inspo for my hammy’s cage, thank you!! 😊
It's a great setup! 💖 Love the little mushrooms on cork logs idea!🤩 I'll have to try something similar! 😊
Victoria, maybe for your next post maybe do a livestream? You haven't done one of those in a while! Also I've been following you for like three years now! I love your vids!
i think penny is going to love it
Looks amazing! I bet Penny will love it☺️
Thank you!! 🥰 I hope so!
It's so relaxing! I like it
Hi Victoria .. i took my hamster to the vets a week ago and i couldn't believe she said tabathas weight is 260 .. she's a big girl they said .. but she seem healthy but she makes a noise when she breaths sometimes.. so im keeping an eye in her x
Oh wow! I hope she's alright! What did the vets say about the noise?
@@VictoriaRaechel hi Victoria, well she's been twice so far with the same thing.. all they said is, it could be a small infection. So I've got given antibiotics on both occasions and this time at the moment it has stopped, but it did stop last time then the noise started again, but her nose seems a bit wet, but all ways when she wakes up then after she's fine. But if it continues the next option would be x.ray.... the noise seems to sound like squeaking when she breaths in an out, but at the moment she seems to have stop making the noise :)
I remember I subscribed to you for tips on taking care of my hamster sadly he passed away rest in peace theo❤️🩹🕊️
I'm sorry for your loss!
@@VictoriaRaechel aww thank you he is in a better place now
I think penny is going to like his new enclosure a lot maybe next time you can show a update Penny and how he's doing in his new cage setup
Thank you! I'll definitely be sure to film it!
It was my hamsters birthday on the 22nd and he got a new nitange wheel the one with the cork inside and the rest wood it’s height is also agustible he loves it ❤thankyou forbeing here for me
omg what a lucky ham!!! I'm sure he had a great birthday! 🎉
Evehthing she does is made with love these hamsters dont havs cages they live in full blown mansions Victoria is the best these animals are so BLESSED ❤
Thank you so much!
Oh my! I don't think I've ever seen a ham with extra dwarfism :o I'm glad you were able to find a suitable wheel that she can push!!
thank you so much for replying :D
I love the platforms! I kinda wish I was a hamster because those look fun to explore through 😅
Honestly me too 😭 I would explore every nook and cranny
Beautiful set up … I haven’t had a hamster in a few years but wanting to get one again soon 🥰
Thank you!! What species do you think you'll get? 😁
I love it! Such a good setup I might use it for my hamsters new setup anyways love you and ur vids no one can make me hate you ❤

Nice looking hamster home bro good job❤
1 Hour ago! Never so early?! Again Great Video! Penny Must have a wonderful life haha
Thank you! I hope so haha
U have helped me so much cuz I have a hamster and I was worried I want looking after her propyl but I was because the people that told us about hamsters they all said diffrent thing thank u
yeah for some reason people have a weird idea for what is best for a hamster.
Haha I always feel so bad when I have to do a more deeper clean and get into their burrows!
Hi Victoria
First of all I want to say I'm happy to see Penny has gotten through the mite situation and you've done an amazing job to sanitize and refill the enclosure 👌
I have one question, how often do you replace the sand in the sandbox? I filled up my sand digbox with two of these niteangel bags you used in this video about a month ago and either the sand dig box or the area around it (or both) now REEK of urine but when I sift through it there's no clumped up sand
Should I just replace all the sand? Seems like a lot of money to use every month just for sand only 😅 but of course I'm going to if needed
Any suggestions?
Sorry for long winded post but so happy to see Penny's beautiful setup ready for him 🙂
Thank you! If it smells like pee still it's probably a good time to clean out the whole thing :) I wouldn't say there's an exact amount of time to wait in between changing the sand out fully I'd say that's up to you and how often your hamster is using it as a bathroom!
Little penny 🐹🐹🐹🐹❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
really cool cage
Thank you!
Wow I realy like the new set up nice work❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you! ❤️
How many bags of the Niteangel bedding did it take? 😮
Also love the small cameo where Sage is supervising ❤
It was about 12 of the small bags + 1 of the large bags!
gorgeous
Thank you!
every time i check your videos i swear these cages get bigger
I’m glad little penny is getting better!! Unrelated lol but do you have a favorite out of every hamster you’ve owned or if not which do you think is the cutest? 💗🐹
Thank you! I don't really have a favorite as they all have been so special in their own ways!
How many different substrates do you suggest for the cage I have two plus sand at this moment should I add more?
you can add coco dirt, coco husk, cork pellets, ( cork pellets are a great for sprinkling food, and treats and they will love the foraging)
@@The_Hamster_HabitRight now I have cork granules and Aspen shavings is that good or do I add more?
Her hamster has better living conditions than I do. I wish I was her hamster.
So cute! Pls can you do a video comparing the average sized rabbit hutch to how much it would be for a human? You have done this with a hamster cage before! Thank you! 😊
Possibly!
Tysm!😊
Hey Victoria! this was a really fun video! also if you ever have a hard time thinking of a video to make you can do a review on The Hamster Habit. I am a new RUclipsr and love to watch your channel i love your opinions.
Great
Your hamster is livin' the dream! 😂
haha thank you!
Hi Victora!!
Hi!! 😄
Not a cage, but a hamster castle! Lucky little hammies.
Thank you!
Great vid! I quite enjoy ur videos! I have a syrian ham too! Her name is Pumpkin! I might have stole the name from you... ☺️🥰
Thank you! I love that you used the name! 🧡
I know in thepast you have done a "reaction to tiktok hamster videos" but what if you did it on yt? Some viewers may be young but wanna see the videos, its just a idea but ily channel so much and i hope your having a nice month ❤
Ur hamsters live better than I do 😅
Same here 😅
Hi Victoria, the cage looks amazing so gorgeous!,i also have a question!
@@VictoriaRaechelok thank you so much!
Hi Victoria! I was wondering how I could sanitize old hamster hides or if I should just get new ones. I’m getting a hamster in December and was wondering if I could reuse my last hamster’s wooden hides, but I wanted to sanitize them first. ❤
She has a video on what to do when your hamster dies and it tells you in there btw
I did bake mine in the oven at 100°C+
for at least half an hour to disinfect them!
They can be baked! I have a video on it here ruclips.net/video/2Oik1NHgdq8/видео.html

R.I.P Benji 🕊
I'm so sorry for your loss of Benji ❤️🌈
@@VictoriaRaechel thank you, you helped me so much to make his short life the best life ❤️🩹
Hey Victoria! I just had a question for you. My Syrian hamster fur is developing dark patches. It doesn’t feel any different than the rest of her fur though. I just wanted to know if you knew anything about that. When trying to do research, I only found results for dwarf hamsters.
i don't think I'd worry too much, in some cases fur may change with age!
@@VictoriaRaechel Thanks So much! 🙏
So so pretty 💕 I have a question, do The stilts under chamber Houses or other things need to touch the bottom of the enclosure? Or Can They be shorter? I hope this makes sense 🥹
Thank you! They should touch the ground :)
@ okay tysmmm💕
Hamsters is so cute i also have hamsters but my hamster was very sick
Hi Victoria, just wondering if I should spot clean the day after getting my hamster or let it settle in without me spot cleaning😅
I would let them settle in, they wouldn’t have created much mess/waste in just one day!
hey i am wondering how much you spend in the enclosure????
it looks nice .
victoria changed her setup, that means its time to change mine 😅
lol 😅😂
Hello Victoria! This may be a really dumb question but I was wondering how the hamsters don’t get stuck under the hides when they are below the bedding? Like can they see or something?
All hideouts are on stilts!
@@VictoriaRaechel Oh ok thank you!!
I just bought new items/hideouts for my hamster’s cage. I was wondering when would it be a convenient time to add her new items to her cage? During playtime in the pin or would it be ok to add them quietly while she’s sleeping?
You can add them while they're sleeping!
@ Thank you! Feel better with your cold 🤧.
@@VictoriaRaechel True😿 By Christmas I would of run around 100 miles😢 I geuss I'll stop watching videos and researching, after all it would just be a waste of time not getting it.
What heating pad do you guys reccomend for a hamster?
Any human heating pad should be okay, just make sure it's nothing too hot and has a cover or blanket you can put over it.
@@VictoriaRaechel Thanks so much!!
Does the niteangel bedding save their burrows?
Do you mean does it hold burrows? Yes :)
