    This brought back memories of my first experience with cnc machines...I used to refinish machines (strip paint, clean, repaint and replace windows) in the late 90's-early 00's. I remember doing a few fadals...that nasty grease...lol. Thanks for the videos, keep them coming :)Ps. I'd like to see some content of whatever you machine as well.

      Thanks James, yeah, this thing was nasty when I bought it. Didn't have RUclips in mind back then. But maybe I can scrap together enough pictures to do a montage of the rebuild. It was about 400 hours of work. I will try and get some machining footage up. I mostly will show my own parts or volunteer work parts.

    What is the name of oil (lubrication) that you are using for the LM Guide and Running Block on it ....

    Hello sir,
    First of all your contents are awesome keep it up ❤️
    I have recently bought used DAHLIH MCV-610, its an auto lube machine,
    But underneath table I saw that grease fitting just the ones in your video....
    so how do I fill up with grease using Grease gun ?
    With what amount of grease ?
    Please reply sir

      The central lubrication system for the Z-axis, use grease for the X,Y linear guides something like Shell Gadus S2 V220 2 do it twice a year if it's not a heavy use machine.

    How do you remove the way covers?

    Hey man... Just bought VMC 15xt. It has some small kinda oil glass on the right side on the upper side of the VMC. What is it for? Do i need to pour oil in it? What kind of oil?

    • @AtManUnlimitedMachining
      @AtManUnlimitedMachining  6 лет назад

      I would suggest reading the manuals, could be the oiler or a moisture separator.

      Thx man, awesome stuff! Watching your videos, really helped me with the machine.

    Very interesting video - is there a difference between roller linear way and ball linear way lubing?

    • @AtManUnlimitedMachining
      @AtManUnlimitedMachining  8 лет назад

      No, ball and roller systems will still use a similar oil or grease system. Almost all newer machines use auto oilers now. Roller linears are much more rigid then balls though.

    • @roadsidejobshop9287
      @roadsidejobshop9287 8 лет назад

      Roller linears are better, but also much more expensive... On the router I worked on for a time period, we used bearing grease pumped in from the nipple. Is the oil used very thick? How often does the oiler push more oil into the carriages?

    • @AtManUnlimitedMachining
      @AtManUnlimitedMachining  8 лет назад

      Way oil is not super thick, its like a light weight gear oil or hydraulic fluid. They do however put additives in it to make is tacky or sticky. This helps it stay in the bearings and not just flow out through the basic seals at the end. The older oiler systems where just on a timer, every X amount of minutes it would give a pump of oil. Problem with that, if the machine is just sitting idle you just crank oil into the coolant for no reason. Today's newer machines the oiler system is tied in with the machine control so it is a little smarter on when to give a pump of oil.

      Interesting... I'm currently building a very very small and rudimentary VMC(if it can be called that) and I am wondering if I should build the automatic lubrication system in or just pump grease in at the end of every week or so?
      Thanks for the info btw :)

    • @AtManUnlimitedMachining

      I would just pump grease in it, keeps the coolant cleaner and not that big of a deal. Plus you save the money and hassle of running oil lines to each linear.

      No Problem Willie, I have not run out of ideas yet. I think in the next few months I'm going to move into the electrical systems.

      People like me love videos like this don't stop man can you do videos on 7 axis cnc machines electrical and mechanical

    • @AtManUnlimitedMachining
      @AtManUnlimitedMachining  7 лет назад

      Most likely not as I don't have one in the shop. But everything being done on the 3 axis mill can be built upon when you start adding more axis of movement.

    • @willievalentin7424
      @willievalentin7424 7 лет назад

      the rotary table accounts for the extra 2 axis on a cnc machine but im still a bit confused on the programming for the g code on the machine and what ever extra coding might com along for a 5 axis machine

    • @AtManUnlimitedMachining
      @AtManUnlimitedMachining  7 лет назад

      I have plans to show some of the new 4 axis machine tool paths in fusion. I might to some 5 axis stuff.

    How do you lube the spindle?

    • @AtManUnlimitedMachining
      @AtManUnlimitedMachining  6 лет назад

      Almost all the Fadal spindles are permanently greased. There are a few air oilers out there but they are rare.
