Finally!!!! Thank you for sharing a tip that actually works! I know this from personal experience. I learned it from a customer when I worked at Ace Hardware as a teenager a million years ago and have been passing it along to anyone who will listen. You've absolutely got a new sub with me! I just happened to see your video in my recommendations and I'm so happy I did - I can't wait to check out the rest of your content! Cheers from SF! P.S. I Love the patriotic themed edition of Corn-Hole 🇺🇲 you did an excellent job! (Those stripes are on point! 😄 lol) I can't think of a better way to spend any Fourth of July BBQ. 😊 Well, besides eating, of course!😉
100%! ShakespeareCafe's on point. I think what he isnt seeing is that the caulking, is Still an Extra step. Now, stenciling...that's a brilliant idea! For everything else ...base ..tape..reapply base (over tape to seal any gaps) then apply secondary color. No extra product or BS needed.
there's your problem, your not using a low pressure output spray gun or aerosol paint. but brushing & rolling can push paint under edges. but thats one way that helps.
You probably already have your answer but I use frog tape for staining with little bleed and this method for painting. I don’t think you can do this with staining as it would create a barrier and not actually stain the wood. That’s just my 2 cents tho.
Dude Fixes Stuff touch up is hours , you have to retape or have a steady hand , if you then messuo with touch up color you will have to repaint another stripe, seconds in the beginning is nothing , second of what’s the rush , jeeez Great tip , If you paint ever , touch up is the worst , you keep trying for perfection , and it’s difficult to know when-to say when. With this tip you go and enjoy the game becaue you have the rest of your day to enjoyment
@@foley1674 But then one would need to wait for the paint to dry first before applying the main colour. It's recommended that the tape be removed before the paint dries. Caulk is the favourable option.
A United States Of America Flag has 13 stripes and 50 stars. Your's only has 12 stripes and is incorrect. You need to calculate how wide of tape you need to use to keep them all spaced out to fit. 13 Stripes = 13 Colonies......50 Stars = 50 States. Screamin' Iron Eagle
Thanks so much for your tip! Got crisp pin-striping on 2x4 desk base I made thanks to your tip with the caulk.
Thanks for sharing that great tip! The uses for that technique are endless!

Dude, that is Awesome! I have struggled with that in the past
Easier method is to use white paint (or base color), let it dry and it will form a better seal than that caulk which takes longer and messier to apply

@@jamaepowell6718 I spray the entire surface with matt clear coat, add my tape, then spray clear again and have zero bleed with paint or gel stain.
thanks was about to paint some stripes and thought hmm.. will tape be ok alone so did a search to be sure. Thanks saved me a headache later on 👍
Thank you for this absolutely helpful tip.
Thank you for this easy yet effective tip.

Glad it helped
WOW THANKS
Clever!
This is great ‼️thank you
You're so welcome!
Awesome
Wow!!
This is a great tip thank you. I wonder if it will work as well on a canvas?
I was about to ask the same thing and if it would work with acrylic.
can you show this using a star stencil on a union
Great, btw you sound like David Lynch lol
Great tip! it is much better, bur no perfect. I think I will have to show everyone how to paint lines (Hard Edge) 😃
Please do!
Could i use a acrylic paintable white calk ?
Will this work with jewelry? Because it's on a smaller scale will the caulking leave lines?

Can I do this on a leather bag?
Vinyl adhesive caulk?
How much does it cost to caulk it vs frog tape?
Does it cause discoloration of the top color? How long does it last compared to non caulked paint?
why??? just paint over the tape with the same color as the first to seal your tape and when it dries paint your stripes
Is this just acrylic caulk?
i am using oil paints not sure how many stars and stripes on a white canvas .???
Hallo whats the name ofcthe silicone thank you

Do you think this technique would work for painting letters onto a bicycle frame with spray paint?
yes
Question. Do you need to use this method when applying wood stain with a rag? Or would a simple masking tape job suffice?

At first, I thought you said Colgate. Which, come to think of it, would be great for enamels.😏
Looks good, but I prefer the Greek flag you did at 1:14
Would this work on a canvas?
Using any kind of clear medium works. I tape, apply clear medium, and then the paint colour; this ways leaves no texture behind
it's impressive but it seems like the caulk would be similar in time to touch up?
I ended up with better lines using the caulk then by touching up the lines. No right or wrong way. What ever works best for you.

The easiest way is paint over the tape with the white as that is the bottom color. Same results.
?
fiberinspector you started with a white base. Tape off to start the red paint. Paint over the white base again instead of using the caulk.

Curious why you said not silicone. Must be caulk.
Plain caulk is latex. Silicone would create a headache in this situation

Just a nitpicky thing. There are only 12 stripes on the flag. Not 13.
Is nobody concerned that the flag only has 12 stripes???
I was .. and the amount of stars....

Its not a flag its just a representation of one. Size of board was determined by end use and tape by what was available at local hardware store.

No. We're here for the method.
It’s a game board.. there aren’t 50 stars either. It doesn’t matter
