    I have the BB Plank Luxe and it's the best 'firm' bed I have ever purchased. I can't stand sinking down in a mattress so if you like a really firm mattress get the Plank Luxe.

    I am wondering how the pillow top changes the firm twin?? Plus differences between the 2021 and 2024 models?? Thank you very much.

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  Месяц назад

      Great question. We've found that imparts a significant amount of surface softness and probably changes the overall softness by about a point on our scale. So we'd expect the firm to still have some the firmness but with a fair bit of softness up top. I hope that helps.

    My concern is fiberglass, im getting conflicting information appreciate if you know the answer.

      While we always recommend contacting the manufacturer for the final say on this point, we do not believe the Signature Hybrid uses fiberglass in its fire barrier, no.

    Thank you for this review. I think I might be getting close to selecting the mattress with the right fit & feel for me. I am considering this in the soft model. Being a lightweight (5’2” 114lbs.) side sleeper who needs really good pressure relief but does not really like a super high density memory foam feel, it can be quite challenging. I like that this mattress also has a little bit of bounce. It sounds like one of the best mattress for me in the soft model. I know that you mentioned that this medium model that you reviewed has a softer, more fixable coil system which I really like. I would expect that this would also be the case with the soft version of this mattress as well. What is your opinion of this as a mattress that I should strongly consider given my body type & preferences?

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  7 месяцев назад

      The soft model here could be a good fit, though I'm not sure it's the best at pressure relief. Have you looked at this one in person?

    • @deniseparashac8269
      @deniseparashac8269 7 месяцев назад

      No, I haven’t tried this out in person. I don’t live near a Brooklyn Bedding store. I was interested in this BB Signature because of the softer, more flexible coil system. Sometimes a mattress could be classified by the manufacturer as “soft” but if that mattress has a thicker wire, more sturdier coil system, the mattress can actually feel firmer than you would expect for a “soft”. For that reason, I like that this one seems to have a softer, springer, more flexible system. I was also considering the Aurora Luxe Soft but I really don’t need the cooling feature of the Aurora. Also, because there are more layers of foam in the Aurora, I thought that it might have too much of a high density memory foam feel. I like sinking or nestling/ cradling in feel but not really that “hugged/ stuck in the bed” feeling that a high density memory foam would provide. What are your thoughts on this? Thank you in advance.

      @@goodbed Could you clarify the pressure relief factor? You mentioned in the video that this mattress that you were reviewing here ( medium) was very good for pressure relief. So I would think that the soft version would also be very good for pressure relief. You mentioned in your reply that you were not sure if it’s the best at pressure relief. Do you mean that it is good as far as pressure relief, as you mentioned in the video review but just not the best as compared to some other mattresses?

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  7 месяцев назад +1

      @@deniseparashac8269 That's about right yeah. The current Signature is very good for pressure relief, but mattresses with a surface layer of memory foam or specialty foam will be slightly better in this regard. Can you remind me what mattresses you've tried at home or in store?

    • @deniseparashac8269
      @deniseparashac8269 7 месяцев назад

      @@goodbed I tried the Serta I Comfort ECO HD Ultra Plush Pillowtop. I felt that there was too much of a high density memory foam feel & no bounce. Also, I felt that repositioning wasn’t easy. I am a side sleeper but I also tend to reposition from one side to the other side during the night. I also tried the Beautyrest Pressure Smart Plush Pillowtop. It didn’t have as much of a super memory feel but I still felt that “ stuck in the bed” feeling with some difficulty in repositioning. Also, no bounce detected & I do like to fell a little bounce in a mattress.

    How firm is the firm version of this mattress?

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  3 месяца назад

      Hi there -- The Firm model is a Medium-Firm (4) on our softness spectrum, which runs from 1-9 with 9 being the softest. You can see all 3 models compared here: www.goodbed.com/compare/?mod=brooklyn-bedding-signature-firm&mod=brooklyn-bedding-signature-medium&mod=brooklyn-bedding-signature-soft

    Please explain why the mattress you are reviewing has a noticeable "pillow top," while both the current review of this mattress on CNET (and seemingly Brooklyn Bedding's own website) show a flatter top layer in a sort-of diamond pattern. Why have I seen differences in the tops of this mattress?

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  Год назад +4

      Hi. We are reviewing the latest, currently available version of the mattress, and we discuss throughout the video how it has changed since previous models, especially starting at about 3:18. None of the images in this video show a "pillow top," so I'm guessing that you're referring to the quilting layer, which is described in the Materials section at 16:29. This is most certainly part of the current version, and was part of the previous version as well.
      We also reviewed the prior version back in 2017, so you can see our review of the older version as well: ruclips.net/video/IXbcUst4Ago/видео.html
      The pattern of the quilting on top is similar between versions. However, the newer version is a much softer/squishier mattress, so much so that the overall effect of the quilting layer is also seems softer and more billowy since the mattress isn't as firm beneath that layer.
      Brooklyn Bedding is using a similar color scheme for the cover as the last version, so it can be difficult to tell by sight whether they're reviewing the latest models. A few clues: The new version includes a layer of the company's Veriflex foam, and the coil unit is now 8", where the prior version was 6".
      Hope that's helpful!

      @@goodbed Yes, very helpful Mike, and I appreciate the details in both your video and your answer to me! I edited the end of my comments to be less accusatory, lol.
      I ended up calling the company for some more details about the top of the mattress and learned that the soft and medium models of this mattress have the quilted layer on it, while the firm model has the more flat "diamond-style" stitching. So I was probably watching videos that used the firm version of the mattress, while not stating that in their videos (or pretending it was the medium).
      Anyway, I am a mostly-side sleeper looking for a mattress between and medium and a soft so there is little sinkage, so the medium model of this bed sounds just right for me. Thanks for your help!

      Do you know if the firm version is just a change in the top layers or if the gauge of the coils is firmer too? Considering nectar hybrid vs the firm version of the Brooklyn hybrid and I’m leaning toward nectar based on the responsiveness you showed in that video. I prefer firmer mattresses that feel like they’re pressing back against me, rather than just me sinking into it.

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  Год назад +1

      @@jaykeilai AFAIK all 3 models use the same coils and vary the feel based on just the foam layers. However, since this sounds like an especially important criteria for you, I'd recommend confirming this with them directly: www.goodbed.com/o/m/brooklyn-bedding/
