Hi everyone, and welcome to today's video on airport baggage policy, procedures and guidelines. Whether you're a seasoned traveler or just starting to navigate the airport experience, understanding baggage policies and procedures is key to ensuring a stress-free and smooth journey. In this video, we'll be covering everything you need to know about airport baggage, from what you can and can't bring on board to how to properly label and handle your bags.
Be it your first solo travel experience or first-time trip by air, being up to date with the baggage rules and regulations is wise. It will not only help you have a hassle-free airport clearance as well as save your packing time. When you know how much and what you can carry, you can pack your things accordingly.
Check-in and cabin baggage weight limits are crucial to know beforehand so that you do not face any difficulty or have to pay extra charges at the airport.
Here are a few things that you should never carry in your cabin or check-in baggage. The list will help you get through the security checks without any difficulty and ease your first experience on a flight.
You should never carry personal items like lighters or pointed scissors in your hand baggage.
You must never carry any toy replica of weapons in your hand purse or luggage.
You are also prohibited from carrying any sharp objects like razors, box cutters, knives, etc., in your cabin baggage.
Guns, Firearms and sporting goods are also prohibited in hand baggage.
Do not pack electronic items and batteries in your check-in baggage.
You must never carry any flammable, toxic and chemical liquids in check-in baggage.
You can carry toiletries of a maximum of 100 ml in your hand baggage.

Sir i am going through indigo domestic tommorow .
1) Is guitar allowed in hand baggage and with one personal item (school bag, under 3 kg). (Both under 7 kg together)
2) What if my check in baggage is 15.5kg but in hand baggage is just 3-4 kg(guitar)
I did not book through student quota , can i still show them my student id for excess weight.
I don't think you can carry guitar in the aircraft. For more clarity please reach out to your airline customer care. 15.5kg should be okay. They might allow you to carry without any charges. And no you cannot show your student ID. You'll have to show a govt ID such as Adhar 👍😊

Sir, I want to travel to Toronto, but the flights from Ahmedabad are comparatively more expensive than Mumbai. So I am thinking of first going to Mumbai (through a separate domestic Flight ticket) and then to Toronto. So if I book a domestic flight separately, are they going to allow me to carry 7 kg (cabin) + 23 kg+ 23 kg (check-in) if I tell them the situation?
You can carry two check-in baggages however you may have to pay extra for the extra bag and weight. The charges are generally very high. You can check with the airline for exact prices. I would recommend taking a train to reach Mumbai if you have time and want to save money 👍😊

Hey! Thanks for this informative video. However I need little clarity for my upcoming flight. I have connecting flights from hyderabad to Texas through oman airways and qatar airways (hyd-mct-doha-tx). Oman airways allows 32 kg of standard weight of each check in bags but qatar airways allows only 23 kg of each bag. I'm confused as to which one if these 2 will apply and which one of these 2 limits should I carry, Your response is highly appreciated.
I think you should not carry more than 23 KG as you mentioned Qatar airways only allows 23Kg each so you may have to pay extra charges to Qatar Airways if you carry 32 KG 😊👍

Thanks for the lovely comment. You can carry camera and all the accessories you talked about in the laptop bag itself. They generally don't check the weight of the laptop or hand baggage so it's fine even if it exceeds 7kg by a little bit. Hope this helps. Have a safe flight 😊👍

Some questions because I'm so confused because of different perspectives.
1. Food itens allowed in which bag solid/liquid ( saudi airline mentioned food items not allowed in check in bag)
2. Knife, scissor, shaving blades, nail cutter in which bag. ( if i cover it with clothe will they allow)
3. Perfumes in which bag and in how many quantity (i have 100ml×3 it is allowed)
4. How much liquid items quantity like cooking oil, hair oil, body lotion, etc is allowed and in which bag.
Solid food items are allowed in hand baggage. Packed food items should be allowed in check-in baggage.

3. I would suggest you carry the perfumes in check-in baggage unless you need to use it during the journey. For that may be you can keep one up to 100ml.
4. Any other liquid item over 100ml has to go in check-in baggage. For the total number of bottles allowed I suggest you contact your airline directly as different airlines may have different policies 👍😊
