No, I totally understand that but I would say that she has always wanted to do country music. In 2017, her album, lemonade had a song called daddy lessons and it was a very much country and throughout her entire career, she has always and I mean always made it clear that she was southern. Often I think people forget that she’s always expressed interest in country just because the songs that she did do in the genre didn’t do well

What country radio station are you listening to that isn't playing mediocre pop songs already? I hate to break it to you, but mainstream country has been pop for decades now, with artists like Shania Twain crossing over since the 90s. Now all of the country girlies are pop inspired. Taylor, Maren, Kacey..

I'm saying music in general doesn't have to profound to make an impact. And I responded to the right person. It feels like you don't have a valid response to my comments, by the way lol.@@Myrtlecrack

I think you could make a video about how Tik Tok is becoming the #1 Hit Killer. Beyoncé Texas Holdem is a good example. The reception for that song when it first released was really positive, all the way across the board, even conservative radio guys complementing it.
It’s barely been a month and all I’m reading is people sick of it or annoyed by it. This didn’t happen with hit songs for the past 10 years, it used to happen when FM radio was widely listened to and started to decline into a 2-hour pre-approved playlist with no deviation. It seems like this effect is coming back with short form content.
You can only hear the most catchy, best part of a single song before it doesn’t sound catchy or good anymore, it’s just stale and annoying. Beyoncé’s song is not the first one it happened to, but it’s a good example of just how strong that effect can be. In a world without Tik Tok, that song could’ve had a slow burn lifespan where it was a hit all of summer 2024. Now I don’t even know if it’ll make it til June, because people hear that same 5 seconds of “This ain’t Texas…. ain’t no hold ‘em” every 5th time they scroll.

Searching for great country music songs on the internet is lot more efficient than just waiting for one to be played on country radio.
