It's about pharmaceutical companies creating things that are mutating people and killing them and turning them into zombies and creatures and stuff and the whole time parts of the government are backing them then doesn't that sound kind of familiar lol
@NivarosoraviNNah CoD comes out every single year and the stories aren't even connected. I was talking about just how nonsensical RE has gotten and how nonsensical F&F has gotten
Nah. VII and VIII were great games but Ethan was a milquetoast 'nothing' of a character. He would've been like an extra on set interacting with Leon and Chris.
@travistotle idk, Ethan's motivations in 8 particularly are more emotionally driven than most of the rest of the series' protagonists. And the "blank slate" of the character felt like an intentional running joke since every possible opportunity to ever see Ethan's face got covered up
@manvirshergill1739Maybe also because we never see him,so it is harder to connect with him.Aren't they all a bit one dimensional tho ? Well Leon is of course the best
It’s crazy how the creators of this franchise have capitalized on the terrible tragedy that consumed Raccoon City. May the family members of the victims find peace 🙏🏻
Ethan had that shit rough man untrained fighting the bakers then the mold monsters and boss the werewolves crazy ass family of mutants and a literal resident evil god
@obamatheswagmaster4208 he did get training between Biohazard and Village, Chris trained him. Good detail is in Biohazard he just chucks away the clip when he reloads the pistol, in village he keeps it and reloads much faster
The story is chaotic. The authors can write a sequel however they want, and it doesn’t have to provide any answers, so it can remain illogical indefinitely.
Pretty much the same with any long running game franchise that tries to take their story 'seriously'. See also Metal Gear, Kingdom Hearts, Assassin's Creed, and more.
Someone should do a video of every loose plot thread that the sequels have left unanswered. I’m sure there’s a ton by now. Isn’t there supposed to be some Illuminati secret government thing going on?
It’s not hard to follow if you care even a little bit. There’s some chaos, but yoy need to work on your media literacy and stop being so cynical it’s fucking stupid lol
23:38 I've played through Village numerous times and have 100% of the trophies, and I am JUST NOW realizing that the Megamycete is shaped like a baby in a womb
The film, Resident Evil: Death Island, reunites Jill, Chris, Claire, Leon and Rebecca in San Francisco post-RE:6 to stop another outbreak by some ex-umbrella merc
I am so happy the way you did the order resident evil 3 to resident evil 2 not many people pick up on that resident evil 3 is definitely if not a prequel its an interqual good eyes dude
They seem adequately rated. I personally hate 1, 2 is alright, but I know some love them. Would prefer no more games like tbh. To me they stem off of 5,6 styl,e which is where the franchise took a turn for what many og fans would say the worst
I have a feeling that alyssa and grace are actually ashfords (one of the founding families of umbrella) and that alyssa or her parents changed their last name to ashcroft to try and separarte themselves from the ashford family. It could also be the reason why Gideon needs/is targeting Grace throughout the game maybe because of her family/blood importance to Elpis.
As they said, they definitely skipped over a few details and this is definitely not an exhuastive recap, but it is a very good general outline for the events prior to RE9. As someone who only started watching the series from RE7 onwards, this is very much appreciated.
To mention tge resident evil movies (Animated ones) Are also part of the story, For example RE: Degeneration takes place year after RE 4, Resident Evil: Damnation takes place between RE 5 and 6, Resident Evil: Vendetta takes place roughly year after RE 6, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness takes place in 2006, Also exploring some other small flashbacks over some characters in year 2000, and Resident Evil: Death Island takes place in 2015, 2 years before RE 7 If i put something wrong here then sorry about it and feel free to correct me, i took everything from resident evil animated movies in order so from the years the movies were released
After the Code Veronica remake Capcom should reboot/remake the Outbreak multiplayer game before remaking 5. Give us a semi open world Racoon City to explore co-op with a narrative that causes the players to run into iconic RE characters during the initial outbreak.
Heavily disagree, I want RE5 next. There are more RE5 fans than CV fans and especially outbreak fans. RE5 is the second most (non remake) sold game, more sold than original RE4 and would make sense to be next (or right after CV if they do make CV which shows weskers origin for getting his powers).
@6:28 - The reason why Carlos is helpful, is because the UBCS are Umbrella's forces, they are actually disposable units, they are meant to be sent not to exactly to do the damage control, but it can look from outside like that. If they manage to survive, good, if not, they are replaceable, thus disposable by Umbrella. Hunk, being from USC (Umbrella Security Service), isn't disposable and actually the only member that is worth, but USC members are more valuable that UBCS members, yet they are still disposable, and Hunk has proved himself to be the mainly The dependable source. UBSC members do not know this of course, they act like damage control, saviors and protector, your regular military so to say, so they are kept out mainly from the Umbrella's dark side.
This was an amazing video break down of the resident evil series. Short sweet and to told all the main details. I’m just getting into resident evil so this helped me to understand the series a lot better and now I can’t wait for RE9 thank you for the awesome video ❤️💯
I never played 4 growing up, and just now playing the remake (which is goated so far), but I agree that 5 will always have a special place in my heart. I love the action horror blend with the idea of weapon proficiency through upgrading and deciding which guns to use and how. I hope they eventually remake 5.
As much as I fully wish there was a remake of 5 next (as it is my personal favorite RE game), I did a lot of research and have come to terms with the fact that CV will be remade first to showcase the origin of wesker getting his powers, then likely 5 to finish weskers story. So if we get a remake 2027 (which i think is the plan), we might get a RE5 remake 2028-2029
Ive played and always play every single resident evil. Biggest thing i think resident evil lost, is its “figure it out” style of play. Never any difficult puzzles that stump you anymore like resident evil 1 and 2. They have a dull just do as the game guides you to do feel even though i still enjoy them. They could be better and acquire more play time if that was ever a goal. No real threat of losing anything. No real threat of failure which leads to no real feel of accomplishment when finishing. Which leads to some people feeling like its not the best money spent. Speaking as someone who would enjoy this game living for as long as possible
The issue was moreso they wanted to appeal more to speed running and action horror. The original foundation was focused more on intricate puzzles, mainly because the original games couldn't be as scary visually due to graphic limitations and style choice. Though over the years were able to pull more towards actual horror than just long time consuming puzzles.
@Tyler-nh6op but puzzles are still great for speed running. I love speed running cod zombies easter eggs and have grinded a couple resident evils. Puzzles dont stop speed runners at all.
@stu_gahtz1740 well no. its always a puzzle, the difference is if you know the puzzle. Doesn't mean it cant be difficult and time consuming none the less.
@T@Tyler-nh6op once you know how to do it, its no longer a puzzle. its just a task to get through the game. Time consuming yes but another point that has nothing to do with speed runs. Some are longer then others.
After 30 years of playing the Resident Evil franchise, I've come to the conclusion after watching this video that I still don't know wtf is going on.
@IAmFitzee It’s only been a 1-2 years for me and I feel the same… glad i’m not alone
Nah this is just a really bad explanation
It's about pharmaceutical companies creating things that are mutating people and killing them and turning them into zombies and creatures and stuff and the whole time parts of the government are backing them then doesn't that sound kind of familiar lol
same. T-virus okei, G-virus, Plaga ? what else wtf
Bro fr 😂
I mean I do everytime I new game comes out cuz I do my lore research again but then while waiting for a new entry I forget a lot of it
"There was a virus...yada yada yada....then a giant explosion"
@twodumbcats390 at this point I dont even care about the lore anymore lmaoo
you mean "then the base was set to self-destruct"
then we escape in a helicopter into the sunset
Bingo?
Leon: i guess these residents are all evil
Say that again
"Maybe the evil was the residents we met all along" ahh
@AkshR777uhh hey those residents dont look so sos nice uh nice, maybe they are evil.. "grace" ahhhh
Resident evil is a game where people set bases to self destruct
And fly away afterwards
And shoot a rocket at the bad guy before flying to safety.
(Stares at Doofenschmirtz)
Doof: “Don’t look at me, I stay in the tri-state area”
@Bstackz55 further proof that Resident Evil is really just Metroid
its also a game where people make huge ass bases without anyone noticing in the most random places ever
Resident Evil is the Fast and Furious of video game franchises
Fast and Furious has way more bad movies, than RE has bad games.
@DecimalD_ resident evil has to re create the wheel so many times to the point of nauseum
@DecimalD_I think they're the same lol
@presidentc4 CoD is the Fast and Furious of video games.
@NivarosoraviNNah CoD comes out every single year and the stories aren't even connected. I was talking about just how nonsensical RE has gotten and how nonsensical F&F has gotten
We need the final game scene where Leon shoots an RPG at the enemy and says, 'I'm too old for this shit.' pls capcom
RE10: Lethal Weapon
Fr
Nah, Leon's doing this shit till his 90😂
We were robbed of Ethan, Chris and Leon being in one game
Nah. VII and VIII were great games but Ethan was a milquetoast 'nothing' of a character. He would've been like an extra on set interacting with Leon and Chris.
@travistotleexactly. Playing as Ethan in 1st person made it hard for me to be emotionally invested/care about him. Pretty bland character.
@VeritabIlIti He’s lame…
Leon: _i'm tired, boss_
Till 99
What about Operation Javier after RE code Veronica & before RE4 Z💤😴
Chris doesn’t get tired because he’s full of BSAA HGHs.
@RichardRuiz-ff3yx I want to see a full triple A game of Operation Javier That would be amazing
Shut up Leon it’s time for Resident Evil 46: Nemesis’ Nemesis
As a huge resi fan, I’ve learned that Resident Evil is anime cops vs goo monsters 😂
Literally though 😂
as cynical as that sounds, you're on to something lmfao
that is what makes it so fucking good lmao
Things that never change.
* Zombie
* Virus
* Underground Lab
* Self-destruct Sequence
* Rocket Launcher
* Albert Wesker
Lmao
@darwinquilantang2556 the last bullet point being Wesker is ironic 😂
You forgot umbrella subsidiary companies
Tricell
The connections
Neo umbrella
Los Illuminados
And Leon
And Ada Wong
@darwinquilantang2556
*Cranks
*Keys
It’s crazy how the creators of this franchise have capitalized on the terrible tragedy that consumed Raccoon City. May the family members of the victims find peace 🙏🏻
Absolutely disgusting! Boycotting this game and shame on Capcom!
I can’t believe Umbrella Corp allows this franchise to slander on them all these years too. Paying no mind
Ayooooo 🤦🏾♂️😂😭😭😭😭😂
Why aren’t there people laying in the street in roads with “STOP UMBRELLA” this is an injustice
@the1abstrakt Ngl this comment got it 😂😂😂😂
This video will self-destruct in 3..2..1..
im sorry for ethan, he didnt get the happy ending
Deserved. He sucked as a protag.
@Lil.Grandpacry more
@Lil.Grandpa to each their own
Ethan was one of the only main protags that deserved to still be alive despite him not being as popular as the other characters😢
He was a shit character anyway
Criminal you left out the part Leon getting infected in 4
Everyone doing a resident evil timeline/story recap gets to resi 6, “oh boy, strap in guys, let’s get through this together” 😂
The plot in RE6 is actually awesome though.
Im busy with the platinum lol
@BitnationSA Good luck with those multiplayer achievements!
RE6 WAS SOMETHING REALLY HARD BUT IT’S STILL AWESOME GAME BACK THEN
RE6 gets way too much hate. Gameplay was always really fun on that game
Ethan had that shit rough man untrained fighting the bakers then the mold monsters and boss the werewolves crazy ass family of mutants and a literal resident evil god
He was killed and infected soon as the game started...he was a walking dead all game
@obamatheswagmaster4208 he did get training between Biohazard and Village, Chris trained him. Good detail is in Biohazard he just chucks away the clip when he reloads the pistol, in village he keeps it and reloads much faster
Ethan is the mvp
It really is just badass main character goes on mission to kill zombies, kills zombies and final boss and sails into sunset.
Every Resident Evil game has a rocket launcher in its ending XD
@alterrkazm that's how I know the games at the end lmao
Not village
@johnbrewer8882and, it was the first game with an overbearing and shrieking large breast woman, proving again : Women ruin fun things
It was not rpg but they did blow up to hell the Village hahaha
And bolt cutters is a must in every game 😂
Leon is just dealing with all sorts of PTSD by now.

As long as a base explodes after a countdown and someone infected by a virus is killed by a rocket launcher
@jons8698you have to play the spin offs to get info
It’s not hard to follow if you care even a little bit. There’s some chaos, but yoy need to work on your media literacy and stop being so cynical it’s fucking stupid lol
I'm so glad you highlighted how the games always end with self-destruction or big explosion.
Mid-late 90s, man….thats just how you ended a video game back then!
23:38 I've played through Village numerous times and have 100% of the trophies, and I am JUST NOW realizing that the Megamycete is shaped like a baby in a womb
8:50 “or something like that” is actually a valid explanation when it comes to the lore of Resident Evil.
I'm worried that this video is going to end with my phone entering aself destruct sequence
Setting your base to self destruct before offing yourself is the ultimate “I’m going home and I’m taking my ball with me” move ever
"if it ain't Wong, it's wrong"
@Rdfy6rdtg56jg ADAAAAAAAAA!
I think this shows that sometimes the story doesn't matter as long as the gameplay is fun!
My suspension is in complete disbelief.
Plot armor is thick in this franchise.
Unless your Ethan. You die pretty quick
@LeoMajor1 nah, Ethan lost limbs and was practically bisected, but that magic goop juice always comes in clutch
"After some brief boulder punching" hahaha 10/10
The film, Resident Evil: Death Island, reunites Jill, Chris, Claire, Leon and Rebecca in San Francisco post-RE:6 to stop another outbreak by some ex-umbrella merc
What about Operation Javier between RE Code Veronica & RE4
Does a base self-destruct at the end of it?
@mt_fun7403 yes
Leon will work til he’s 90. 😂
I rebuilt the spencer estate in minecraft once and even included the self destruct once.....that was a huge error of judgement on my part.
I think Capcom probably needed this video to keep this time line straight. Insanity.
Thw wait is killing me! i wanna play so bad!
What about Operation Javier between RE Code Veronica & RE4
Fan boys are already defending the game 😂
@Iunascottkennedywhat are you on about? It was good
@smeagolfingers4116killing Leon was Good?
@Iunascottkennedyhe’s not dead lmao. Did you not finish both endings?
I am so happy the way you did the order resident evil 3 to resident evil 2 not many people pick up on that resident evil 3 is definitely if not a prequel its an interqual good eyes dude
Just started Village. Going to finish it before 9
Say hello to Lady Dimitrescu for me please. Thanks.
@kingpin22s I really look up to her
No acknowledgement towards poor Steve, who was forcibly mutated by Alexia, killed, and had his body taken by Wesker.
remember to self destruct before you leave the house folks!
What about RE Operation Raccoon City ?
@richardruiz7162does that game really count
Revelations 1 and 2 are underrated
They seem adequately rated. I personally hate 1, 2 is alright, but I know some love them. Would prefer no more games like tbh. To me they stem off of 5,6 styl,e which is where the franchise took a turn for what many og fans would say the worst
ugliest game ever made. they could have done just a movie animation. wasted money on both
@victheplayer The first one looks fine. Remember, it was originally released for Nintendo DS.
The second one on the other hand...
It wasn’t the first one, but I really enjoyed Rev 2. I hope a continuation comes.
Revelations 2 was peak
Chris "Theres still something we've got to do!"
Clair "you mean..."
Chris "lets find leon, we cant let the Redfield line end"
I have a feeling that alyssa and grace are actually ashfords (one of the founding families of umbrella) and that alyssa or her parents changed their last name to ashcroft to try and separarte themselves from the ashford family. It could also be the reason why Gideon needs/is targeting Grace throughout the game maybe because of her family/blood importance to Elpis.
@I_Habibi_I good theory. Close to the actual plot of re9
Bruh I got a requiem ad before this video im so hyped to watch Cory's video
holy crap i forgot there were two ada's
As they said, they definitely skipped over a few details and this is definitely not an exhuastive recap, but it is a very good general outline for the events prior to RE9. As someone who only started watching the series from RE7 onwards, this is very much appreciated.

Resident evil revelations games are underrated
Awesome recap!! I can't wait for RE Requiem!! So stoked!
It went from sci-fi horror to a fullblown mystical witchcrafts, werewolves, and vampires.
As someone who has watched some playthroughs but not all as I don't have a console. Super helpful to have a timeline/fill in context I'd missed.
One of the only game series that keeps you glued to the screen everything time you play
Thank you for the quick summary! There's so much happening, this is very helpful! 👍
After the Code Veronica remake Capcom should reboot/remake the Outbreak multiplayer game before remaking 5. Give us a semi open world Racoon City to explore co-op with a narrative that causes the players to run into iconic RE characters during the initial outbreak.
Nah

21:25 “… Returning and turtleneck-ed Chris Redfield.” 😂
RE2 holds a special place but my favorite in the entire series is Code Veronica.
Watchin' this video makes me realize that Code Veronica needs a remake BIG TIME!!!
Should've added that Sherry from RE2 all grown up has returned in RE6 since she is almost 100% confirmed for RE9.
Thanks for the recap! As someone who hasn’t watched all of the games, now I can watch resident evil requiem and sorta understand what’s going on
Best Recap Vid i have seen yet. Hits all the best notes. An excellent refresher!
This is a great video got me fully caught up cause I skipped a bunch of these games
Setting my phone to self destruct after watching this video
This recap is like aright here are your characters. Now to get to the events, well stuff happens and these people live. Resident Evil (next title)
No fr, suggestive gaming's timeline is alot better. Time consuming, but better.
What a fantastic roundup! Me of the best I’ve seen, short - simple - all the plots covered! Amazing job 👏🏽
Bloody well done :)
You just had to use *that* clip for RE3 😂😂
Thank you for the recap! Much appreciated
Well let's see in three weeks till Resident Evil Requiem dropped before Leon returns once again and again......
and again.😎😎😎😎😎
It's that time of the year again to watch the Resident evil Recap timeline
14:05 hell yeah when all else fail
Loved this video thank you❤ so hyped for RE9!🤯
I've played so many of these and im still like WAIT WAIT HANG ON A SECOND lol
This was an amazing video break down of the resident evil series. Short sweet and to told all the main details. I’m just getting into resident evil so this helped me to understand the series a lot better and now I can’t wait for RE9 thank you for the awesome video ❤️💯
My PC is itching to get this one. Thanks for this rundown, now I am ready for Requiem. 😛
I love how leon maintains a constant attitude, in every game saying “whatever it takes”
Can't wait for the CV and 0 remakes
🤞🤞🤞😅
one game that sold poorly in multiple console and other is a total mess.
@reymartchristiancruz526and thats why they could benefit from remakes
@felixwood5 you can only polish a turd so much
Canopy make virus. Zombi eat people. Man with shades move fast. Saved you a watch.
22:00 my twin
Fr bro 😂
This franchise is the gift that keeps on giving.
so, you can basically skip 7 and 8 from the timeline
As someone who's gone through most of the games, this is a decent fast round up.
I remember playing code Veronica on the Dreamcast. One of my favorite RE of all time.
@DreAmDocTa We are old man.
@WrathofGuldan we really are haha
Can’t wait for Requiem
Chris redfield is almost in every game 😅
"Leon coincidentally bumps into an old flame...Ada"
Krauser: .... Am I a joke to you?
The original 3 are Goated , but RE4 & RE5 have a special place in my heart
I never played 4 growing up, and just now playing the remake (which is goated so far), but I agree that 5 will always have a special place in my heart. I love the action horror blend with the idea of weapon proficiency through upgrading and deciding which guns to use and how. I hope they eventually remake 5.
Really nice video!
After 9's release. We need a full remake of RE5, and THEN.... dun dun dun, RE0.
Can’t wait to set raccoon city to self destruct in the next one

I got a requiem ad when I clicked on this
love from india 🥰Wonderful explanation brooooo
If Link has the master sword then RE protags have….. the Rocket Launcher 😂
res village is a meet the characters episode, the weirdest game in the franchise..
Ive never played any of the series before until requiem. I'm so excited to have discovered such a great gaming franchise.
How would you use a chainsaw in the oldest Resident Evil games?
Chris cheat code on 1?
@Mixedbeats18Resident Evil 0
@LyricsVault-u3e whatever one is the one with Chris and the rubbish small keys
@Mixedbeats18Resident Evil 2
Ohhhh thank you for this!!!
RE6 is so much better than people say ... seriously you can suplex zombies wtf
What about Operation Javier in RE ?
Resident Evil 7 storyline make me reminded of F.E.A.R
more convoluted than an anime at this point lol and i love it and wouldn't have it any other way!
What about Resident Evil Operation Raccoon city Z💤😴
Fantastic video, figured I'd watch before picking up Requiem tomorrow and locking myself in my apartment all weekend to play it lol. Cheers!
Make it make sense
outbreak was ahead of its time, wish i knew it was online coop when i was a dumb kid lol
