No Insects on the River…will the Trout Be Active?! (Fly Fishing for Trout)

A cool month of May 2022 on the Breton rivers... few hatchings, not very favorable for fly fishing. Yet the trout gobble, without us seeing the slightest insect flying!
This cool and dry north-east wind which has been blowing for several weeks has not pushed the insects to point the tips of their wings.
This short fly fishing trip took place during the hottest part of the day. These few hours of fly fishing allowed me to catch a few trout despite the lack of activity on the water.
