I have to read this for school and I find The Scarlet Letter boring and it would take me forever to read it on my own, so I came here and read along to you at 1.5x speed. Glad to have this chapter done
I’m having to read this for my honors English class, and when we have ssr in class, it is hard to comprehend when I read it in my head. I also looove to procrastinate and I’m lazy, so being able to listen to this and read along with the pictures in the video has actually allowed me to not only understand, but enjoy the book as well.
Judging by the comments, I can already tell that this chapter will be long and drawn out. However, I love your audios that follow along with The Scarlet Letter and they are making this book 1000x easier to read so thank you.
I just got my wisdom teeth removed two days ago and the meds I'm taking for it make me sleepy and a little out of it. This book is a whole experience for me right now oh my God. 10 out of 10 experience would recommend. I don't comprehend a single thing going on right now
I know everyone says how long and drawn out this chapter is but maybe that was purposefully done I like to think it’s to show how long the days may have felt or gone by alone and with little purpose. How it feels to be an outsider in life just a thought I’m also reaching a bit
This book was written by an ancestor of the Salem Witch trials. People purposed he wrote it to make the Purtians look bad (Hester good protagonist, society against her) because his ancestors were the ones who persecuted women as witches. He also wrote it because he was a writer who wanted to glorify America in someway, that's why he describes scenes sovividly. Also, writers back in those days were paid with the amount of words they wrote, so that's why there's so many unnecessary complicated words.
Have to get through chapters 5, 6, 7, and 8. Then test on them the next day. And continue the cycle til the book is finished. For my english class. Not advanced anything. Just Junior year english. I failed the first test for 1-4. My brain just cant. But thank you for this anyways. It helps more than anything. At least I can get somethings to stay in my head.
cucumber salad (that means thanks for making this even though i will have eternal hatred for the book because I am required to read this and awnser questions that does not mean its not a good book)
I can summarize this entire chapter: Hester gets released from the prison and realizes that she’s not the only sinner in the world, but still feels guilty. The end.
It took this book 5 pages to describe Hester walking outside
LMAOOO
Literally this book fucking sucks😫😫 I have to read it for school

Thank you for making this, but why does this book have to exist, and more importantly, why do we have to read this??!!??
Maybe for historical reasons

Because it was written for people with an attention span longer than a TikTok video.
The best parts were the ads
