    Good tip on taking pictures of the van being secured before you drive off. I’ll bank that one! 👊🏽

    Having just spent five weeks up that way offgrid camping, I am feeling envious and want to head off again.

      We had a Ranger for a few years, they're a great vehicle, but it wasn't the best off road.

      Nice one! It's a fun one as well, Mt Meharry is a lot more challenging and much longer.

    If you're ever in perth , we would love to go four wheeling with yas. We could even camp on the beach with yas if you're in need of a free camp and a good fishing spot

    You are the best family 4 WD adventure family out there!
    Love your easy casual style and keeping it simple.
    Great photography too without over editing it and always good advice.
    Hope to see you on the road and share a beer, if you don’t mind an old fella and his dog joining you around the campfire

    Fantastic job filming the climb up, lots of wheel lifts show how steep and gnarly it really was.

    Why did you move the controller from recirc to open? With the vehicle coming towards you the recirc is the one I always default to as it stops taking air from outside and recirc what is already in the vehicle - what makes you do the opposite?

    • @TheLifestylePioneers
      @TheLifestylePioneers  14 дней назад

      To be honest I can't remember which way around it happened in the video but generally we're on fresh air and re-circ when following or passing another vehicle .n the dirt.

    LIZ! I would have had the bottle of whiskey in my hand! It is very beautiful but I think my heart would give out😅 great achievement though. I wouldn’t have slept the night before. Good you worked out the power issue. I love that you show the stuff that happens, we are always doing little running repairs and I think it’s great for people to plan a bit for what does not go as expected 😅

    Just wondering if there were any potential pinch-holes on the way up Mt Meharry? 🙂Although you'd need your head checking if you were attempting to tow anything up there!
    Also, genuinely laughed out loud at the 'Master Chef' comment Simon... but they did look pretty tasty.
    Another great vid guys. Thank you.

    Looks like a VICTRON battery protect.
    The Battery Protect disconnects the battery from non essential loads before it is completely discharged (which would damage the battery) or before it has insufficient power left to crank the engine. In manual E1 is short circuit

    • @TheLifestylePioneers
      @TheLifestylePioneers  18 дней назад

      Yeah, you're right. It's also used as a relay to isolate 12v loads when travelling, etc.

  • @meeniyan297
    @meeniyan297 6 дней назад

    Why did you leave roof rack loaded for the climb?

    • @TheLifestylePioneers
      @TheLifestylePioneers  6 дней назад

      It's a lot of effort and you need to be able to put the stuff somewhere. Loading dusty swags, etc into the van isn't fun.

    Thanks, that track is now 100% on our list when we make it to WA.
    Up until May 2025 we are still in Qld if you make it over this way and need extra car on challenging adventures. We spend most of our times solo exploring too and love it but in tougher tracks I do understand the advantage of support.
    Enjoy your break.

    Brilliant filming. Got a great idea of how gnarly it was. You asked where we are. We had a 100 series LC we LOVED and were done over by Brunswick Diesel in WA. Consequently we have an LC with nothing under the bonnet. We bought a Wildtrack. It will need some work to get it up to what the LC could do. So... we're home! How did this track compare in difficulty to Bendelby Ranges in SA or High Country tracks in Vic?

    • @TheLifestylePioneers
      @TheLifestylePioneers  16 дней назад +1

      Thanks guys, hope you get your car sorted. It's loose compared to what we've done at Bendleby but not as steep. Haven't done too much in the VHC but hopefully soon 👌

    1248 metres is virtually the same height above sea level as Lake Eucumbene at high water mark and the drive is nowhere near as adventurous as that drive.
    Great work TLP's.

    Those battery protects dont like the heat but also could be voltage drop. Maybe do some testing and see.
    Voltage drop over a long or undersized cable between battery + and the BP may result in a short circuit alarm when starting up the load or unexpected shutdown

    I use Linch Pins in the end of the mid point tube holding up the Stone Stomper. They are quick to install and relatively cheap. Bunnings have them.

    • @TheLifestylePioneers
      @TheLifestylePioneers  16 дней назад

      Yeah, ok. Not sure I understand how that would work?

    • @jebw
      @jebw 16 дней назад

      @TheLifestylePioneers I drilled a holes in the ends of the mid support conduit. This restrained the Stone Stomper on the conduit as the Linch pins created a sort of end.
      RUclips doesn't support replying with images which would save a thousand words.
