I've always wanted to be a ballerina but never had the opportunity to do so as a child. I love ballet. The ballerinas look so beautiful, it seems like they fly in the air so effortlessly! It's magical!! She's great!!!!! :)
Once I got kicked in the face by a fellow dancer during the piece while on stage. You just keep going. You don't even shake it off you just ignore that it ever happened.
This video made me realize that dancers go through shoes like I go through clarinet reeds. Except even more horridly expensive. I'll never complain again about a $30 box.
When they dance at a professional company like this the company provides them for free. But your right they are horribly expensive. I go thru about 5 pairs a month and I am not at a professional company
I love seeing just a small amount of a dancers life. I myself wasn't able to pursue my dream to be a dancer, as I got diagnosed with a kronical disease. After that I was forced to stop dancing, and I had danced ballet since I was 3 years old... Shit happens, but it makes me happy to see when other dancers made their dream come true. :)
DIYWithLisa You have to be positive about life, because it has so much to offer. The shit that happens makes you grow, and other great things will come over time. :) Kate Hu I maybe could, but it's not the style that's the major problem. My body is the problem, because I have a disease called Narcolepsy. I wasn't able to stand on my own to legs at that time, because my body was so tired all the time. This was 3-4 years ago. Now I may be able to dance a bit, but I think it's best just to let go. I thing I would be more sad if I started again, because I can't get to the same level I once was at before. It would be too frustrating, not something that would make me more happy. So I will just keep it as it is, still being able to enjoy see other dancers. :)
DavidsenRecords I absolutely LOVE your positive atitude❤ I'm so sorry about that but you seem like a strong and amazing person, something I admire very much! I don't think I would be able to handle it as amazingly as you do! I also have a disease but it doesn't stop me from doing sports. Stay strong and keep being your awesome self!
The movie allow me to have now a relevant insight about a ballerina's life. The fact that she and her husband do the same job is very cute. I t looks like they are living in their buble. Thank you for this document, I'm happy that that you guys thought about it then executed it...Great!!
I could never be a dancer but watching her, I feel that I can relate more to them and understand the commitment and dedication for being one. Very enlightening!
You both look stunning. I think what the most interesting is how the moves interpret the art and how it comes together...and the costumes for the show. I think the music too is amazing.
I dance at this company, Pennsylvania Ballet Academy, I love the teachers and it is such a joy dancing there, I really recommend it, they are doing auditions on Saturday if anyone wants to try out, for older levels!!!
Coffee helps with mental tiredness but physically? After all day practicing you sit in the tub and rest your already aching feet for another 60-180 minute performance
You should do a day in the life of one of the US ski team girls, it may not be as "pretty" as these but they sure are tough. US eventing team women would also be great!!
Well first of all their surnames are Armenian, second of all there are a few million Armenians in the world. I know some with natural blue eyes, some with natural blond hair, some with natural straight noses. Not all Armenians are fully Armenian, they can be half. I'm quarter Russian. Plus the guy has a very stereotypically Armenian appearance
Melanea A I am not getting hyped over a surname, it's just in my opinion that she is Armenian. And I wrote that Armenians have stereotypical looks, but there are many people who do not follow those stereotypes, as many are half Armenian etc
I am in the ballet world and I've not yet seen any of her performances, but omg I will be watching her performance with her husband immediately. What a magical thing that must be.
Open Ballet class means class in any studio you choose where you can just drop in. Usually corps members are required to take Company class but principals can Go somewhere Else
I'm a ballerina too and I finally got my first pair of point shoes and I am so happy to have them. I want to be a professional ballerina too. Love u, guys!!!!!😅😅😅😅😅
Fascinating. They spend so much time rehearsing every day before the performance. Very different than in theater where you practice a ton, and then once you're in performances you never practice again with the group unless you need to.
She's quite gorgeous, as is her husband. I'd appreciate a little more explanation. Why, when there's a performance that night, is there no company class? Of course, it might be she just prefers to take another class, or that the company doesn't have rehearsals that day, so no class until later, before performance. But it seemed odd that she went and apparently applied stage makeup, just to rehearse with her husband. Maybe she just wanted to look especially pretty for this video (not that she didn't look pretty before the extra makeup). All in all, this did not seem like what would be a normal, typical day for someone in her position, but I enjoyed watching her and her husband. Where did she get most of her training, btw?
Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and then Kirov. SF Ballet features her in an "artist spotlight" youtube video, and she talks about her training. Vanessa (and her husband) taught my 13-yo daughter at the CPYB intensive this past summer, and my daughter adored her - so I especially enjoyed watching this!
Kalynne Pudner CPYB is such an excellent school, with so many professionals, many at top companies, that have come through their program. Good luck to your daughter and you!
Omg they are a good team I was once a ballerina in my younger days I know if I was still able to get into my toe shoes I could still be graceful once a ballerina you never forget
i have danced ballett for over 10 years...i also started dancing ballett when i was five and now i'm 17 and had to stop dancing because of school (my dancing lessons are at the same time as some school periods i have)...so this video makes me also a little bit sad, but i love ballett so much and it makes me happy to see people living their dreams and beeing a professional dancer, whether it's ballett or something else:)
i am a dancer your shoes break because this is what we do : walk on point of toe curve your foot to about breaking point some days i cant walk after my performanses
I love dance and do it 6 days a week but I also want to focus more on band. Should I not do band or should I focus more on band and come to dance 4 days a week?
It's funny, whenever I ask a dancer, how long have you been dancing? she usually tells me at what age she started dancing, which doesn't exactly answer my question and because I'm a gentleman I don't want to ask her her age. Even with the little ones, a girl might be 5 or 6 years old and I'll say how long have you been dancing and she'll say, since I was 3. lol I am not now nor have I ever been a dancer, but my dream is to be a ballet photographer. Currently, I've been privileged to be able to photograph classes at a local school, but my dream is to photograph individual dancers and at least dress rehearsals of mainstream shows. If not the shows themselves.
On the age thing as a woman I don't truly understand why we should hide our age so personally the age question is never a problem. And you should continue your dream bc ballet dancers truly are so beautiful to photograph
It takes the vast majority of professional ballet dancers at least 10 years of training. But many start very young ,at around 3 or 4. In the UK major ballet schools like The Royal Ballet School and Elmhurst take children in to daily full time training when they are 11. Then when they are 16 they have to re-audition for a place at an Upper School for a further 2 or 3 years of training. There is no guarantee just because you are accepted into the Royal Ballet School at 11 that you will get a place at the Royal Ballet School Upper School at 16. Some children are assessed out at the age of 12, for being unsuitable to continue training.
i got my first pair of pointe shoes when I was 11,i just turned 12 last december. im using Capezio. what brand of pointes should i use when I want to get my 2nd pair already??
She got all the respect from me when she said she ROLLED AND TWISTED her ankle then CARRIED ON until the end of the show. The pain she went through must be close to unbearable and she still finished the show. What a fucking legend.

I used to want to pursue this dream for most of my life but I lost motivation and my passion dissolved. i just feel sad because I remember how excited I was for my first pair of pointe shoes and my first pirouette and my first performance and yet. i quit. i give up.
Ohh the pictures of her and her husband dancing. They are like birds in flight!!
Dance couples performing together - watching them on stage together is just magical ♥
I've always wanted to be a ballerina but never had the opportunity to do so as a child. I love ballet. The ballerinas look so beautiful, it seems like they fly in the air so effortlessly! It's magical!! She's great!!!!! :)
Kennya I feel the same way I have always wanted to be a dancer and i had never had the opportunity to
Kennya it's never to late to start dancing
I started ballet at 16 years old! it's never late for chasing what you would love to do, yo have to give a bigger effort but it's really worth to try!
Kennya GO FOR ITTTTT
Justina Prehnant are you a professional ballerina?
Once I got kicked in the face by a fellow dancer during the piece while on stage. You just keep going. You don't even shake it off you just ignore that it ever happened.
KiraEileen my sisters pointe shoe collapsed
A black swan hit my nose in 4th grade 😂
I got hit in the face by a cape during nutcracker. Not my best day.
my pointe shoe broke and it was so painful
I was at competition and some girl was doing a back walkover and she kneed me on stage....
Beautiful video! Have you ever thought of covering one day in a life of a female scientist? That would be really cool
That's a great idea! I'd love to see that.

Doing something you love, with someone you love ... How perfect. Had never seen a ballet couple... I love it ❤️
This video made me realize that dancers go through shoes like I go through clarinet reeds. Except even more horridly expensive. I'll never complain again about a $30 box.
Yup, they cost at least $100
I play clarinet and tenor sax, and I buy pointe shoes. U can imagine. $100 pointe shoes, $40 sax reeds, $30 Clarinet reeds!
When they dance at a professional company like this the company provides them for free. But your right they are horribly expensive. I go thru about 5 pairs a month and I am not at a professional company
I play clarinet and have been a dancer for 10 years...yeah it gets expensive real quick
@@kelseypickens8368 Only a few companies do this and most of the time only with "their" specific brand or brands
She's so adorable and I loved the peak behind the scenes of a ballet dancer--well done!

Yannie Lee thanks ! :)

the romeo skirt!! thats so me : 3
She is so beautiful!!! And graceful, and elegant
As a ballerina, I totally understand the feeling of being on stage and having the crowd clap. It is the best feeling in the world
Amazing I wish I could dance for a living
Elle danse trop bien!

ballerinas have such great walk, there legs goes straight when they take a step forward
I loved when she met up with her friend at the end!
"I need to get some rest..." *picks up cup of coffee*
They are so adorable together! ❤I wish them a long happy life.
I wish we could have seen her perform :)

Professional dancing is my dream. Its amazing to see how her life really is off stage. Love these videos :)
I love ballet it's really fun. I hope I get on pointe soon.
They're not Russian, as far as I see, they're both Armenian.
I really liked the video
The girl doesn't look Armenian

I love watching ballet dancing there so delicate
she reminds me of Monica from friends
May God bless you both as you scarifice and work to make this world a better place. We need the artists in this mixed up world.

Really enjoying this series!

olive hey! Same here! ☺️☺️

something very gorgeous about her
Day in the life of an Olympic Equestrian.
SmoshOfy I would love that
Yessss!!!
by "open ballet class," does she mean that SFB does not have daily company classes?
That confused me to.
Usually ballet companies aren't open over the summer so professional dancers take open classes at smaller studios to keep their technique :)
Stef Nicole Mills but considering they are performing in the theatre it should seem that they are in season
Maybe it's open for the entire company and not just for the show that its performing
Open Ballet class means class in any studio you choose where you can just drop in. Usually corps members are required to take Company class but principals can Go somewhere Else

Loved it, how about an opera singer next? :)
She couldn’t walk. WALK. *WALK.* but she kept dancing. Cause that’s what you’re supposed to do. And people say dance isn’t a sport
I have the same Leo as her❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
im an ballet dancer ic har but its awsome and its my love

Your so beautiful at dancing Bally in the tutus!😁
You seem to be such a very sweet person. Thank you for a nice video.
I used to be a ballerina but I changed to Irish dance cause I like fast dances
cutecupcakegamer trust me there's plenty of fast dances in ballet
Also it will be very astonishing if you do the life of an opera singer❤️❤️
omg yes
That's not ballet....

it's just magic
Oh my god I used to be a student at SF ballet school!!!
What I don't understand is how dose she get her shoes broken in so fast?! IF your not a dancer, you won't understand
they normally brake them themselves I think
i am a dancer your shoes break because this is what we do :
walk on point of toe
curve your foot to about breaking point
some days i cant walk after my performanses
livileigh5 just dancing that much probably does it
I’m 12. I kill my shoes in one day
When I get a new pair for performances I always walk with them on around my house and that breaks them in a bit.
I’m planning on taking dance classes and it’s specifically ballet
I love dance and do it 6 days a week but I also want to focus more on band. Should I not do band or should I focus more on band and come to dance 4 days a week?
My cousins friend used to be at SFB and she stopped because she was still in highschool.
me encanta

I like when ballerinas dance with their hair undone because it gives a sense of freedom
If I start ballet at 10 or 11 will I be able to go to big big sort of ballet places
as soon as she said "It's for Balanchine's Serenade," I hit the like button
Is it still fine if you go to ballet school even if your already a teenager?
Piper Rabaya yes I started taking ballet when I was 13 you can totally do it!!
fabulous
does anyone know what the Balanchine Serenade Skirt is made out of? I love the floatiness of it!
i got my first pair of pointe shoes when I was 11,i just turned 12 last december. im using Capezio. what brand of pointes should i use when I want to get my 2nd pair already??

I do ballet, and it is very hard to do. There is a lot of stretching, balancing, and you need to have a strait back and neck 😊😊
😁
I dance too

I legit thought that she was gonna say ,”I’m going home, because I got arrested”😂
ohh ilove ballet
mad respect 😍
