I like preachers who preach strongly on the grace of God like J Vernon Mcgee.

Brother McGee has long been at home in Glory yet his marvelous sermons still annoint contemporary believers. The Word of God never grows old or stale. It is a Lively Oracle ever ready to annoint, to bless, to teach. He was well ahead of his time
and the first radio pastor I could trust implicitly. A solid & sturdy student of the Word of God who avoided tangents & distracting neo-doctrines which so abound today. Looking foward to meeting him in Glory

I believe it is key that we keep our focus on His love for us, and not ourselves. The goodness of God, grace, mercy and love are what changes and melts even the hardest of hearts.
    God bless!

In the early seventies I pulled off the road to listen to the good pastor. By the end of his program and sermon, I sat along the road in my large car and recieved the Holy Spirit. It was one of the most if NOT the most profound experience of my sixty plus years. The Spirit went THROUGH me like electric current, taking away ALL my sins, and believe me, I had plenty. I STILL love his Through the Bible series and his incredible understanding of the Gospel. There are no tricks or weirdness in his ministry. May the Lord of Hosts shower him with rewards for all the souls he has doctored and healed.

It kinda sounds like McGee is telling us not to try, which I don't think is a good message. As a parent, when your child tries to do something nice for you, do you tell your child "what is this rotten thing that you've done for me...there is nothing good in you", or do you tell your child "good job son, thank you" ? Maybe McGee's message is telling us to reach deeper into the well of Christ, and embrace the salvation which He has provided for us, and draw upon the principles which He has given to us ?

      Gal 2:20
We need Him to live His live in us.
It is not so much about us trying as it is
us knowing the Word and Will of the Lord
and submit to His Work in us.
Lord bless you and your family!
