This is TRULY a unique use of a service dog that I have not seen before. Murphy and all the other dogs trained like him are real heroes in fur for the families who need them. Thank you for this video.
Adult autistics benefit from service dogs. I am 53 and have my service dog with me at all times. I cannot go into stores or restaurants without him. Some of my public meltdowns have been epic. Of course they are not nearly as bad now that as have my dog. He is task trained for what my needs are.
Fantastic dog, very well trained and balanced! However my only concern is that specific task, I don’t agree with it, the kid could hurt himself, or the dog if he were to dart off and pull the tether to hard, I also never totally saw the purpose of that task, what’s the difference between that and just getting a kid leash? Does this dog know any other tasks besides that and blocking? The blocking is a really good one, but the first one I’m not a fan of, lol
Hi I need to learn how to start to train my 6 week old puppy to be an autism service dog... do you think you could help me with that? (She is VERY smart, I taught her to sit in less than 10 minutes today at 6 weeks old!! She is still with her momma (we bred her)
I have bad anxiety and I have been contemplating a service dog. Animals have always helped me. I would need the dog when I am in public and at home. Do you think this isn't a necessary reason to have a service dog?
I need a service dog for when I live on my own, which will be in three years. I have Autism and struggle with simple things like getting dressed, doing dishes, and in public, I struggle with being able to talk, and sensory issues. My parents don't have the money, and my dad is about to loose his job, plus I',m not allowed to get another dog. I can't wait until I live on my own, I will most likely get a lab, and go through this train=ing program. I have a lot of money to save up, but it will be worth it.
