    This is awesome. I like the spine attachment method. I haven't done a "hinging" spine like that for Japanese binding so I'm going to try it next. I liked the tutorial speed, as someone who has made books before. I wouldn't say this works for beginners, but for me, it will work to go back and pause and reference as I try to create something similar. This is the first video of yours I've watched, so I'm looking forward to the others!

    awesome work. can you tell me the more specific name of this binding method, i only know "japanese bookbinding" as the 4-hole one, this one is new to me and i want to research it further.

    • @createmistakes
      @createmistakes  Год назад +1

      The method is pretty much the same as Japanese bookbinding but it’s probably closer to Chinese bookbinding, so I guess the title is a tad misleading sorry. If you Google Chinese bookbinding you should find some nice patterns. You probably won’t find an identical pattern to that one since it’s my pattern but you should find similar patterns. I hope that helped answer your question.

    what kind of paper did you use for the cover?

    • @createmistakes
      @createmistakes  4 года назад +1

      Tbhi can’t really remember. Maybe try something around 110gsm so it’s not too thick but it’s still strong enough not to split. In terms of type of paper you could try what you have to hand well that’s what I do. You could event use rapping paper or news paper. If I remember right I printed my design on 110 gsm silk paper with a mat finish. I hope that this helped a little 👍

      Hi there. you might find the link to this video more helpful: ruclips.net/video/lz4F2Aj8bZY/видео.html
      also the dimensions for the book in this video are 2.5cm x 18cm spine then its a 0.5cm x 18cm crease and 14cm x 18cm for the cover so your full cover should come too 17cm x 18cm. i would recommend the text block being 16.5cm x 17cm

    Thank you for sharing your crafting skills.
    I have a question: Can you consider NOT speeding up your recordings for playback?
    I found the speed a little dizzying. :( Its not your fault but I have developed - Vertigo - and rapidly moving my eyes is like motion sickness. So flashes of light, trying to follow a fast pace, makes me very dizzy and sometimes want to vomit.
    If I was not interested in your videos, I would move on to the 10k plus other youtubers but i actually like what you are doing. If i am asking too much, i will try to find someone that will not trigger my disorder.
    have a good day.
