- Joe Amaral goes to the town where Jesus grew up, Nazareth, to learn what it was like for Jesus to be a carpenter (Mark 6:1-3). We learn about the ancient tools used and how carpenters worked with stone and wood. Karen visits the School of Media ministry of King of Kings community in Jerusalem and hears about their training and work in the film and television fields.

I was reading John 1-3 and this video was perfect to watch. We're taught in John 1:14 that Jesus was the word and the truth (glory) and he was the word and the flesh. He gave us the power of the Holy Spirit to create in us God's glory on this earth and to show others how to live a better life. We've been given the opportunity to become God's child in a powerful way.

When Jesus said tear down this temple and I will rebuild it in three days, I believe Jesus was speaking of the temple of his body. They destroyed his body and he returned in three days.
Perhaps He also meant the physical temple would be destroyed. That happened 35 years later. Double fulfilling

I am sure Jesus was a fantastic carpenter, I love wood working, And wish He was around today, I expect we would all be treated to many excellent how to educational videos by Him, I doubt very much he had to make many bespoke sets of crutches, how exceptionally well crafted they would have been, he must have missed out on a lot of lucrative crutch work with his ability to heal the lame,
I love how the learning process was laid out,but I think a carpentry shop was more sophisticed and the skills were much more supperior and the tools were not as crude.However trying to relearn skills from 2000 yrs ago is another question.

They are finding that the word 'carpenter' has been very loosely translated--and that more likely he was a stone cutter: much more likely in the place where he lived...you are assuming that he worked in Nazareth--much more likely that he traveled for projects--to Jerusalem and to the 10 cities being built by Herrod--why? because that is where the money was...the Jews were being taxed in order to build these model cities...so, he probably was not nearly as 'home carpentry' based as you are showing--he was more of a stone craftsman/a professional and he worked on larger projects for cities, etc (walls--like the Wailing Wall, or streets, or temple /synagogue ornamentation)...in his 'free hours'/evenings, he most likely was studying the Torah in a Yashiva type environment (John the Baptist studied with the Essenes for two years)...and his knowledge of Torah would have indicated to others that he was way out of the ordinary (even for a Jew)--thus, the Messiah (even Peter, a moderate fisherman from a backwater recognized this gift--so surely the priests and scribes would have some recognition, even if they had a jealousy or envy towards his knowledge)...dts/usa

Basicaly....Carpenter is a Sustainable Job with Sustainable Resources...except with the nails and others ...metals...tools and Equipments !!

6:21. What are these "many indications" that both Jesus and his family were fairly affluent? There are many more indications that he was not affluent at all.
I'm not sure there really are "many indications" at all that Jesus was affluent, although Magdala was an affluent Jewish town and Mary Magdalene did support Jesus financially. But I believe his family would have been considered 'peasants'. So Jesus was a Carpenter, as possibly even building houses. Foreshadowing to him going into the other realm to prepare a place for us. God did that on purpose haha
