I cant seem to undo the controller settings. One of the buttons on my controller cant be used because I have to hold it down to map buttons for each game / core
You just need to map the controller again to change any old settings. Once mapped on the main menu, you can set mapping for each core. Just press f12 to enter the menu, and press enter to finish. Also it might help to join this facebook group. facebook.com/groups/1870135613286506/?ref=share
@@Hermski quick question... I'm trying to play my sega mega cd drive games in my MISTer but it keeps saying insert disk and the unit is flashing green. I open the Folder and see the US, Europe, and Japanese folders for games but I can use any of the games. Any ideas? Thanks!
So I have a question about controller configuration. I didnt see a fix for it in the video youtube. So the issue I'm having is when I want to change the mapping on a game and specify my control I have to hold down one of the buttons on the controller preventing me from using it as a button. The moment I release the held controller button all the new configurations are undone. Any idea my this happens? How to fix it
Thank you for this. When it said about mouse buttons I was thinking I was mapping a mouse. So I was hitting enter to finish and mapping the buttons each time 🥴
Hi. Thanks for the guide. Question: How do you define a joystick in the 'Menu core first' before this stage? I'm attempting to connect a "Bug" two button joystick in my Minimig core but cannot find where to define the joystick first. I'm connecting to my MiSTer via a DeamonBite UBS to DB9 controller. Have spent hours searching, so am not asking as a first resort. 🙂
I hate to admit it, but when I got to the mouse part, I did’t realize it meant using the controller as a mouse and kept moving my attached mouse right, up, etc.
Oooh, just make sure you've set up and calibrated the joystick in the initial main menu settings page. Then each core will need it mapped via its own menu the first time you run it. Make sure you've gone through all the mapping options.
@@Hermski - Thanks - I just remembered - it needs to be done for every single arcade core :) - MISTer really has some usability issues, but the benefits keep me coming back.
Ive messed with the key/remap options on the neo geo core and now have two buttons recognized as C and no B button anymore. Cant figure out how to reset it
Thank you so much for this!
You're welcome
Good afternoon, I'm using a PS5 controller on my computer and I accidentally messed up the cadillac and dinosaurs buttons, how can I fix it?
Gracias amigo 🤝🤝🤝

No worries Ray. Turn on MiSTer, when menu has loaded up press escape. This will bring you to a settings menu. Go down to the joystick option.
I? Would have to remap each game instead if whole cores?

On my USB joystick one button pauses arcade cores, but I got a new USB saturn-pad and I cant figure out how to map a button to pause.

Nice Guide thx
And how do you exit a game back to the menu?
@@onjisan from memory, it's been a while, but think it's either F11 or F12.
@@Hermski I mean from the gamepad. This is a dedicated cabinet with no keyboard
