I am always amazed and many times disgusted by peoples reactions when they find out that I am not only Jewish but I am a practicing Jew.I have had Oh my G-d you don't look Jewish at all to you aren't rich aren't you all rich. When one of my coworkers saw my star of David necklace she said very horrified, You are Jewish??as if she just found out I was an ax murder.

With some people i will say a few probing things ...to test the waters ...see how my jewishness goes down with them...i have heard this story a lot from Jews in Russia and Eastern Europe ...almost not being aware of it in soviet times..or knowing much about judaism ..or jewish culture ..i think it's why lubbewitch chabad became so strong at first there and was able to understand the same issue in the USA.

My sister used to find a way to quickly tell people she was Jewish before she heard them say something bad about Jews. My brother's wife is very blond with big blue eyes and very Jewish. One day he told somebody that they we are Jews and this moron said to him. You can't be Jewish; your wife is blond .... the stupidity is gobsmacking sometimes.
