- Join along as we trek into an unpicked rockhounding location, a brand new spot, a North Shore River! Along the way, even before we got to the spot, we found some Lake Superior agates and other amazing minerals (AMETHYST). Once we finally got to the river, the real rockhounding began and we filled our pack full of so many amazing Lake Superior agates (some with AMETHYST), jasper (some with agate banding?!?), and a bunch of other minerals.

I had so much fun hiking deep in to the North Shore wilderness and findin gan unpicked river to rockhound at. This rockhounding adventure takes place in Minnesota and we pulled many beautiful minerals. My favorites as always are lake superior agates, and some even had amethsyt! Amethyst agates are some of my favorite agates to find! They definetly are rare and a pleasure to look at!

As he walked into the enchanted forest. The trees themselves seemed to reach out to hold him back. It picked, scratched and ripped at his clothing, but the forest could not hold him back. He finally broke through and plundered the forests treasures. Happy, he headed home tired but undaunted. The hero in this story showed all the treasures he found and made others want to have similar adventures

Love the vids keep doin you, just got into rock hounding, but we are city boys so the agates we find are on roofs or rockbeds so it is a different experience, still need to learn more and your videos help immensely, have a good Friday!

I've gone just near the Mississippi and found agates!! Right in Coon rapids 15 N. Or mpls. Lol
I also went to a new caribou and their parking lot had aton of rocks spent about 20 minutes there found 2 nice agates and some pretty sparkly quartz!!! It's so fun. But people were looking at me weird.

I’m SO glad you shared this adventure with us! WOW. I cannot pick a favourite, they are all amazing. Exploring a new spot is definitely worth the blood and sweat. I always carry a first aid kit in my back pack, cuz I’m clumsy ( walking spinal cord injury) and I’m a retired nurse ( always prepared). Giggles for the ripped shorts. Wow! That was quite the haul. With all of those amethyst agates, you must be near some legit amethyst formation as well. Only thing stopping you are jagged logs and hordes of skeeters!

Do you have a renewed interest in streams for some reason? You're cleaning up them. I suspect we'll seeing more like this in the future. I might need to make another trip to practice my agate spotting skills.
I love river rockhounding in summers, it’s so quiet! And no one is willing to risk a pair of shorts for some rocks like me hahah some locals do but I rarely cross paths

the great thing about rivers is they can get picked one summer and come spring they've never been picked before.

Had to watch this one again, really enjoyed the river. Went on my first river hunt today. I was so excited to be out there. So peaceful just like you videos. Cool little waterfalls too. I need to up my game and get some waders, the river was high from all the rain, and flowing fast. Need to make my viewing bucket with a light. But found some jasper and different quartz. It was a great first time, really help me understand and use the tips and tricks from your videos. It was cool to use the sun light. Plan better, watch the weather, and going again soon! This is the exact reoccurring dream I have of wading in a creek and bend down to pick up an agate only to see another and another until the whole creek bed is solid agate! Minus the ripped shorts of course. I share your passion for rocks and have a ginormous laker agate collection. But the collection has slowed in growing these past two years due to cancer treatment paralyzing my legs. Gravel driveways have been my main hunting grounds since. I’m so happy to have found your channel and was literally talking to you while watching you hunt telling you, wait, go back, what was that. Thanks so much for sharing your adventures! Keep um coming! :)

Found you through some kind of suggested post on Facebook, fun to see this video because when I'm out shed hunting it's a very similar experience except with deer antlers. I have a friend who's a huge agate picker on the North Shore, but I haven't tried it much yet. Thanks for sharing your outdoor adventures!

I too like to venture to those few precious unpicked places. While having the underbrush strip me of clothing. There is a remedy. Lightweight wool bush pants. Wool will help you stay cool even in the heat. I've had pairs where the buttons wear of before the material gives and save me lots on clothing. Nice finds! Should go back there in early spring.

A fun rock adventure. Thanks for sharing! Now that you have done the collecting, what will you do with them, grind thee surfaces, tumble them, or even try some slabs? I do some grinding, but mostly tumble my "captures" up to near tennis ball size. Please share your finished rocks if you do more than clean them up. Thanks again!

Favorites =the multi-color striped jasper and the carnelian with the quartz pocket. ‘Glad no bears or wolves were about in the middle of no where and you must have Deeted up or the skeeters and ticks would have sucked you dry! Thanks for your bravery!

First of all it's going to protect your legs from brambles and sticks from scratching your legs. Just saying.......I'm 60 yrs old and I was raised in the woods, staying safe out there is the number 1 thing. Awesome finds you scored, and a awesome video, I'm glad you brought us along with you. Agates are wonderful. They are what kick started my rock hounding.
It's gonna be a rough flight home from Minnesota someday when I'm hauling a carryon with eighty pounds of agates in it back to Oregon. 😆

Hahaha can you imagine? I got pulled aside on my way back from AZ and they pulled out a big bag of white chalcedony and agates from saddle mountain lol

That rock you were wondering about is pyrite (fools gold) that’s why it had the squares and was rusting.
Can pyrite be silver?! And extremely brittle?

They might be rare out there in the Midwest but in Oregon I find jaspagate combos pretty frequently, and they can be unbelievably gorgeous

Wow! Fabulous 🎥. I loved all your finds! Last month when I was in the U.P. I found zero LSA’s. 🤦♀️. The beach is overwhelming. I’ll have to find some rivers and creeks for my next visit. You make it look so easy!! Where I’m at, we just have a lot of cold water agates. Chunks of yellow, flower like, agates. 😩. Wish they were as beautiful as yours!

What a hidden gem of a place lol!
That first one you found was the beautiful example of a Lake Superior agate. Got even better with some of the most unusual awesome combo stones. Wow! Always happy too to see a bit of amethyst show up. Gosh really cool unique stuff.

12:20 reminds me of Missouri! A lot!!! Pretty sure you have limonite pseudomorph after pyrite with galena on quartz on matrix 🤷🏻♂️ Is it heavy? If it is you got galena for sure. If that rock is light weight I’m way off but I bet it’s heavy
It feels like normal weight, Ill do some research on that!
Yes, my first thought was pyrite, definitely something metallic.
Also, I've sliced a few hunks of prenite that looked just like the piece you found at 3:11 and they had copper in them. Sometimes it was just like copper glitter, others had more. It's very pretty.

Me and my dad went on a rockhound and I found lots of quartz jadsper and some thundereggs, and my dad found an orange jasper where there's a carving in with a druzy inside
