I loved this song from the first and it still makes me cry. It makes me think of Gaza. Free 🇵🇸
If you ask 500 people who do they think are the most talented, gifted artists
of all time, regardless of whether their music is their preference or not.
I guarantee you this guy will not be mentioned and you know why? Cos,
you could hit them in the face with a frying pan and will still not get it.
Well, I am here to tell you that this guy is up there with the very best.
i agree ,from the 80s till now and beyond
He is on my list, and you wouldn't have to remind me.
Well said
yes, he is..another complete artist..singer, songwriter, producer...CONSISTENT quality material, even though his releases must be sought out, as since he's moved to Italy, not available domestically....
@@ScrittiSparklehe is one of the most emotional musical talent and I miss him terribly in the United States❤❤
In 1988 i was 9 years old and this was my boyfriend. I promise 😂❤❤. Still love him at 44
Sometimes you think "Now he's just showing off" but then you think "wouldn't you if you could sing like that?"
TTD Is One Of The BEST Male Vocalist In History, And, His Lyrics Are Some Of The Most Profound, Touching and Deep Ever Written Or Sung. 'TTD... 'Let's Go Forward' Forever With Your Music'...
Sananda is so intoxicating his voice, his stage presence, not to mention how fine he is !!! ❤❤❤
this is the greatest human rights song ever, listening to it since 87 and never got bored for a second since.
I was lucky enough to spend some time with TTD after a concert in Montreal and to tell him how much this song meant to me, how powerful it is (even though it was not part of the concert and never received airplay here in Montreal). He answered ''I'm glad SOMEONE gets it'', with some sadness and what I perceived might be some bitterness. He is quite a shy man in person, very soft-spoken and gentle. Years later, watching an interview of him as Sinanda, things he said made me understand the melancholy that was almost palpable at that time. It was a great night, he was gorgeous, sexy, mysterious, also kind, gentle, fragile and seeking something he had not yet found, which had nothing to do with fame. A truly brilliant, talented man, with a deep spiritual love for humanity and the healing power of music. Thank you T, for the privilege. Stay true to yourself. 💋
he held my hand a couple times during his concert when i was 18. i was in 7th heaven... sigh.
He has everything in his music...I love both TTD and Sananda Maitreya.
Hearing this song for the first time in 1986 I wept for ppl I had never met, but what was so strong inside my own soul. This version left me speechless. Thankyou TTD x

@@2ES_ Right you are!
The absolute most beautiful voice and man I've ever seen and heard.
Can’t take my eyes of the man.
Yesterday Terence. Today Sananda. The same voice... Great, powerfull, profound...
For me THE BEST VOICE OF THE WORLD
I'm a huge fan of his music that voice just send chills up and down my body
You see Mr Darby your message was honest heartfelt. You ment every word of it like the days of old. The music business is not built for that anymore. We all want to change the world and then many years later we realized, the world changed us... This song was relevant then and it's relevant now....
there are songs and records that blow you water ,and the hard line was one .Who rembers the lyric say a prayer for my camel as i ride across the desert .say a prayer for the rumors , the rumors of war. magic stuff yo
Terence Trente d'Arby/ Sananda Matreya, tu as toujours était beau et talentueux, ta vois cristalline. Tu es un prince, forever
I have no words 😢 if you don't feel the message and the voice you are not human💀
With each year I have come to understand this Song more and more, and even differently in some parts. I love this Poetry-Song!
I would love to understand what it is about. Would you share your ideas?

Greatest singer alive
What the hell is the point of me even trying to formulate words in a comment simply said the man is phenomenal
Dude, YOU are the best voice of the world. Colombia salutes you, from Alke til' Sphere :D
This guy was so pure in this filthy world, no wonder they had to end his career prematurely
Non ci sono parole per descrivere la sua bravura. Bravissimo!!
THE VOICE. There’s no more nothing to say
All these years later.....Pose and Praytells foreshadowing scene!!!! Soooo powerful
Magic voice, great talent, beautiful, fantastic man, adore him ♥
Genius!!
one in a million...
GENIUS!!!
what a voice, the words of that song, hitting home, makes me cry
They were four singers, 2 are dead, I steel hope that the two lastest will sing together one day. Sorry for my english. Kiss to Lenny and Sananda. We miss you in Switzerland. Virginia
Super Stardom was at his feet. But he chose to walk way from it and do things his way. Bitter Sweet..
10GALLEN81 yes he chose life over billions of dollars
And that is why we still have TTD/Sananda around today.
Thank you Pose for introducing me to this beautiful song
Riky Rick brought me here❤️🤍🥺
Very profound on a genius level.
Is this biggest Mandela affect ever? As of yet untitled. I remember this song as a kid from the album. And I remembered an interview where he said Nelson's passing inspired this songs lyrics....lyrics are past tense if Terrance wrote it. No grave shell hold my body down....chilling
Thanks for uploading. Little known song by a great artist.
I love this and have since I first heard it as a boy racer in the late 1980's WOW
This song brought to mind all the those suffered in the Jim Crow South.

Wow thanks for posting this, i've been looking for it for a long time !
Bought me to tears in 2021 during thus bullshit pandemic.
Thx for uploading, amazing quality for 1990!
I ADMIRE this GREAT MAN
my fav
Beautiful in every way much?
Out by a shanty where the dust hangs high
Far from a river where things grow green
The flowers weep and they lean away
From the blood stained soil beneath my feet
The thorns outnumber the petals on the rose
And the darkness amplifies the sound of printers' ink
On propaganda page
That will rule your life and fuel my rage
I tried to bend my knees
But my knees were already bent
I haven't stood like a man for such a long time now
I called to my god but he was sleeping on that day
I guess I'll just have to depend on me
Shall I tell my children if they ask of me
Did I surrender forth my right to be?
Y'see my daddy died to leave this haunting ground
And this same ground still haunts me
The cool September blows the seeds away
The harvest blown again this year
But I'll return a stronger man
I'll return to me my homeland
No grave shall hold my body down
This land is still my home
I said:
But I'll return a stronger man
I'll return to me my homeland
No grave shall hold my body down
This land is still my home
This land is still my home
Meanwhile, on the other side of the world
I want to meet his majesty
TTD's wife is so very blessed.
lol at the guy who had to follow this up, poor dude knew he was done for.
Omg where does this come from its the most amazing thing we have eva herd like eva
My favorite song of his
Gods children, envision your promised land delivered to you in the light of God, as you're a beacon of light and sing to our blood as you have waited; but never in vain.
Legend
this is mandela day 1988 and his debut album was out in 1987
