- This turned out to be one of the key songs in our 2022 Christmas light show. When I heard the song and saw the visuals, I knew it had to be one of the focal points of the show, leading up to the Light of Christmas. This sequence highlights the high-definition Bethlehem Starburst from Gilbert Engineering and the mega tree. Most of all, it highlights the reason for the season - Jesus, our faith in him, our faith in each other. Things that today, more than ever, it feels like we need to focus on... and how "glorious" we are, made in his image.
This first display contains almost 9,000 individually programmable RGB pixels from Mattos Designs primarily (but also from Wired Watts, Wally's Lights and Your Pixel Store). The lights are programmed using xLights (community supported software from the xLights.org team). They are controlled this year by HinksPix Pro pixel controllers and smart receivers from HolidayCoro. The show is automated by smart switches and a MS Windows show computer. The music is broadcast on outdoor speakers and over a FM radio station using a very low-powered FM transmitter.
The show consists of house/roof outlines, snowflakes, candy canes, leaping arches, mini trees, a high-definition Bethlehem Starburst from Gilbert Engineering and a 12-foot-tall mega tree. The entire show runs on very little electricity as all of the lights are RGB LED pixels.
The Singing Trees (from EFL designs) and Singing Bulbs (from Gilbert Engineering) are programmed using machine learning algorithms that align the phoneme vocal movements to the music track.
Sequencing purchased from Showstopper Sequences and customized/extended by Kevin Parker.
Merry Christmas!!
