    Thanks so much for such great classes Kait. No pretension, no ‘burning and sculpting’ - totally just achievable routines. I’ve gotten so much stronger these last couple of months. Love love love! ❤️

      Oh wow! Thank you Rachael Partington! That is some high praise there! ) Thank you! Right though!? Who likes to suffer through their workout lol? I am all about moving at your own pace and strengthening your body in a slow, steady, and achievable way! I am so proud to hear you get it and I hope you are proud of yourself!!

      Hi Frédéric Charlotte! Thank you!! It makes me so happy to hear you say my classes are fun!! I try very hard to get my students to smile while they are in class and I certainly hope you are smiling while you practice with me!

      Thank you Sherry Faith! Yes! I am pleasantly surprised at how many lovely wonderful new students I have! I am so grateful people are enjoying my classes. I miss getting to connect with students in live classes but it’s been so enjoyable to find this online community!

      @@KaitCoats I know exactly that's why I know I'm so glad we can all connect through here. Keep up the great work! Also what advice would you give a new fitness instructor? I'm on my way to getting certified and my mom also instructs but would love to hear what you would advise 😁

    • @KaitCoats
      @KaitCoats  4 года назад +1

      Oooo YAY! That's so exciting! I have two pieces of advice for you... well really I could talk for days on this lol but here you go! Don't let perfection get in the way of done. Especially when you are new, it's easy to fret and worry that you aren't doing everything 100% correct and you postpone teaching your first class or applying to jobs or setting up your website, etc. But nothing is ever going to be perfect. Your students aren't going to notice any "mistakes" you think you made. Just jump in a get going you will figure it our and each step you take will be a little bit better! The second piece of advise is, not everyone is going to like your teaching style and that's not only ok, but it can really be a good thing. Finding your voice as an instructor can be challenging but so beneficial when it comes to creating your own community. You'll get people who take from you and simply aren't the right fit and just know that means there's more room for those that do love you! Once a woman told me I smiled too much while teaching and that it was intimidating!! I just shrugged and said well that's just my personality! lol so no matter what your style is some people will love it and for some it just won't be their cup of tea! I really am happy to chat or answer questions for new teachers so don't hesitate to ask at all :)

      @@KaitCoats thank you so much! You make a great point about not everyone gravitating to every teacher's style of teaching but really embracing those who DO enjoy it. I appreciate the sound advice! I love hearing from experts in the field of pilates. It is a form of movement that is unlike anything else so I'm happy to come across others who love it and want to share it with others too. Thanks again Kait!

    Been following along for awhile. Love the way you instruct, it sounds like it is just you and I and you are speaking directly to me. Nice even voice as well as an understanding that pilates is difficult and not everyone is gonna get it perfect..
    I would love to see you do target workout videos. Specifically muffin tops and maybe a Wrist and Ankle strengthening video! Just some suggestions. Definitely subscribed ❤

      YES! Autumn Green! I LOVE getting suggestions, so please fire away whenever one pops in your lovely head! Thank you so much for that compliment! I truly miss getting to connect in person with my students right now, so know you feel like I am right there with you really means a lot! I did just record a class with lot of ankle stability in it... I don't think I have it schedule to come out until early in June, so stay tuned for that one. Anything with obliques targeted it gonna be great for the muffin area. I've got two classes in particular I'm thinking of I'll link below. The wrist strengthening is a fabulous idea! I am actually writing that down in my journal to start working on asap!

      ruclips.net/video/uDpyron6J0w/видео.html
      Neither of these are specifically called "oblique" workouts in the title, but both really do require a lot of attention to that area of your body. I do talk about that in both, but a great challenge for yourself is, anytime you are side lying or in a side plank, really concentrate on your obliques (those side belly muscles). keeping that area in your mind and engaged will do wonderful things for toning around your midriff

    I've enjoyed your workouts, I try yo mix it up between them and do it at least 5 days a week, I'm a beginner, is that the right way.and is it enough to make sure I start to see a difference in my body or should I increase the length of time I do it for x thank u it's kept me sane

    • @KaitCoats
      @KaitCoats  4 года назад

      Hi Red Panda squad Thank you so much for such a kind response! I really appreciate the support! Recording classes has been keeping me sane, so I'm glad we can help each other!! It's a little hard to give you specific answers without knowing a little more about you in general. (If you follow me on Instagram, you can always DM me and I'm happy to chat more privately too. Although just know it can take me a few days to respond!) I'd say it depends where you are personally in your wellness journey and what kind of results you are looking for. Students come to Pilates for so many reasons! Recent to long term injuries, pre/postnatal health, posture corrections, shaping/sculpting/getting a particular "look" to their body, general mobility. Just to name a few! If you are not only a beginner to Pilates, but also a beginner or just getting back into fitness/mindful movement then it sounds like you are making AMAZING progress. I like to recommend to all my students to get in just a little movement everyday, even if it's just a 5 or 10 min stretch. Then usually speaking having a longer class or workout 3-5 times a week is a great goal for anyone. Fitness and wellness can feel like a long process to get the results you may want, but I have found my students to do take it a bit slower and really make it a priority and a habit in their daily lives are those that not only get the results they want, but have them last! I hope that help! Again feel free to DM me on Instagram if you need more info!
