No game is 100% perfect, but that's as close to a perfect game as I've seen them play in many years. Excellent puck possession, dynamic cycling, defense and goaltending was the story today. Incredible work by the boys. Couldn't be happier with how the new year has been for our Wings.

Those "big stars" have to put up huge individual numbers or their teams likely never go on deep playoff runs. Oilers and Leafs perfect example. Yzerman has built a balanced team. We have the star power. We have the depth. We have the goal tending. We have the veterans. We have the offense. We have a defense that has a potential to be very great. And we have so many great young prospects. Yzerman is the best GM in the league.

They just put on a clinic. Lyon once again was a stone wall (minus one goal), and the offense applied a lot of pressure. The passing alone reminded me of the late 90s and early 2000s teams.
