Wow, this is the most convoluted story yet! I do not know if I like or embrace the message. I was taught, "a son is a son until he marries and a daughter is always a daughter is a daughter forever..." I think that the mother and daughter both need intensive therapy and counseling. But, this was an intriguing story. I could not stop watching, like watching a trainwreck. I just had to watch where all the pieces ended up. I still have to compliment your writers. The story was fascinating and the actors were all superb. Now I have to go see my therapist...

So, the daughter is codependent to mother never taught her how to stand on her own two feet, leaves her, and then she’s now dependent on a man on a lower social economic class than what she grew up in. She’s lucky he’s nice enough not to abuse that situation.
The daughter is innocent in this case and the man is not greedy. So I guess there's no reason for him to abuse her situation when she had helped him in trouble.

The problem with manipulating people into a loving relationship is that the relationship has a way of falling apart as soon as the participants realize they're being manipulated. I recommend watching "The Fantasticks". It's a stage musical, arguably one of the best ever written, about parents (two fathers, actually) who spend years pretending to hate each other in hopes of using reverse psychology to make their children fall in love with each other. The plan succeeds at first, then backfires spectacularly before the children get back together in the end. The plot isn't identical to the one in this video, but it's along the same lines. I think the messages are best summed up by a line from one of the songs: "What at night seems oh, so scenic may be cynic by the day."
