The guy who takes his hat off to do the kamikaze jump is Maxim Levantsevich. He's from Russia, is 21 years old (at the time this video was recorded) and has been touring with the show since 2002... and he's still doing that flip :) He also plays the blue creature with the shark-like fins that is on most of the posters/program covers etc.
He was my trampoline teacher, and he helped me out with handbalancing and things like that. He's awesome! but I recently moved away and he's now working at a show. That gym was great though, both my coaches were former cirque du soleil artists and the owner was too!
i pretty much ignored this act on the video. but i saw it live around a year later and this was my favorite. it was so intense!!! what a great ending to a fantastic show!
Oh sorry I took so long to reply! Circus school is a LOT of hard work, but it's always worth it :D Yeah seriously, I have another more recent Cirque teacher, and she's awesome! The worst injury has to be the open ankle dislocation I had. But! that was in gymnastics, not circus :> Minor injuries are common, like right now my wrist is slightly injured, but eh. No biggie.
Haha I do know how lucky I am. They taught me amazing things and gave me tips on how to get to CdS in the future. Now I go to a circus school that has another man very well connected to CdS, so it seems they just keep appearing in my life! :D Both my coaches especially are incredible people. We would compare scars and injury stories haha
That's so cool! Are you learning this now? The guy in the front with his hat off is so young looking. He looks likes his nineteen at most! Does anybody know who he is?
Oh really?? Im gonna look for that video and tell him, he doesnt even know he's on Fire Within too, a slight cameo, but he's there ;P he's a great trainer!
It would be dangerous for the audience, but it wuld be sick if they flew over them in this act. This was and still is my second faverite act in the show.
Wow, circus school! How cool! What's that like? Haha, the Cirque people are just automatically attracted to you, or something. :) Lucky you! What's the worst injury you ever got?

I think that the song name is Oscillum. However they make remixes of this songs, and they are a little different from the Dvd of Varekai.
