I found this very interesting. Shoes are oddly the thing that many people notice and will comment upon. I recently upgraded a new pair of grey trainers with bright laces - what a difference! Your videos are very informative.
That’s so interesting! The chukka or desert boot is called “vellies” or “veldskoen” with the v pronounced as a “f” in South Africa which translated from Afrikaans means field shoes. I did a bit of research and see that According to GQ magazine, Nathan Clark, of Clarks Shoes, was serving in the second world war when he noticed South African officers wearing, in his own words, “strange leather shoes” so desert shoes might actually originally be the veldskoen.

Yes, I’ve noticed that too! Your bright laces on a subtle shoe sound great 👌
I love shoes and boots, particularly brogues and oxfords. So timeless 💙💫
Thank you, Natasha, I learned a lot. What shoes go best with what is something I struggle with, same with selecting a shoe colour.
It can help to have a few versatile colour options to pick from like a simple nude shoe or a clean white trainer you can’t go wrong with
@@natashaitzcovitz that sounds like a great start for me, thank you!
Great advice and nice to know the names of all these shoes!
Thanks! Hope it helps ☺️
