I will stick with my solid wood oak flooring! It has been in use about a hundred years. I want as little plastic in my house as possible. Plastic off gasses. Most vinyl floors I see are coming unglued in a few years. I find in the real world, natural materials hold up the best and are the most beautiful.

Holy crap....I did not expect THAT much of a difference. There does seem to be a very slight discoloration with the vinyl. What could you do for that?

horsecrap - you are not finishing and or refinishing wood all the time, maybe once every ten years. The most important part of wood is that it is BEAUTIFUL. Vinyl can't hold a candle to the beauty of wood. By all means, select what you prefer, but don't use this test as any sort of determinant for your selection.
