    UPDATE: They lasted 76,367 km (47,452 miles), trouble free. I could've probably got a bit more mileage out of them, but I threw in the towel there.

      question is. would you buy them again? Im looking at the Toyo open country C/T. A hybrid between m55s and a snow tire. PEople getting great longevity out of them. Maybe an update video of how they looked when you took them off?

    Used M55s on my Dodge 2500 Cummins and liked them a lot. Cannot say anything about road noise as Cummins 24v engines are really noisy. Great traction on dirt, gravel and snow. When I swapped vehicles with my step dad with his one ton I put 19.5" tires/wheels on it. If I had remained at 16" would have used them again in a heart beat.

    I love my M-55s on my old F-150! Worked great in snow last winter! Towed a car in the snow, no issues. we'll see this winter! need to rotate, I have a tie rod out, and is causing some bad wear on one tire!

    Must be something wrong with me because I love the sound the M55's make on my truck. Good tire.

    Hey my toyo m-55s are great I have put almost 70,000 on them and they have lots of tread left. I really like them a hard tire thou, I dont mind the hum noise mine are on a half ton pickup thou so alot less weight.

  • @zacharygraham5965

    Hopefully they can handle the haul road up to the slope! That's where I do most of my wheeling and that road is a notorious tire killer!

      They run them on forestry pickups here. Most are huge heaps of junk, so these tires must be good if they are willing to spend more then the truck is worth on rubber.

    Why not the Toyo C/T? It’s an updated option to this tire and features a lot bigger size range. They feature the 3PMS rating as well.

      Sounds like a good option to look into.

    Does Toyo state the M-55 fits within their line of off-road tires? I'm trying to determine the difference between the A/T II and the M-55's

      You can’t see the difference?

    • @dundonrl
      @dundonrl Год назад +1

      It's not part of their Open Country lineup because it's an offroad commercial tire, that's sized to fit a pickup.

  • @BrokeGuyBBQ

    How do you feel they do with the camper on vs the old tires? I have a s&s 9fbsc slide in camper and looking at the m55 over the stock ltx at2 michellins because of having the 3 ply sidewall and heavier tread compound. Being a true commercial tire.

    • @dr.dansgarage
      @dr.dansgarage  4 года назад

      Anthony morel they do well with the camper. Stable, no problems. I keep them at 80 psi when loaded.

    • @BrokeGuyBBQ
      @BrokeGuyBBQ 4 года назад

      @@dr.dansgarage nice! Tread wear is ok? Hows the sidewall flex look like with the camper on?

    • @dr.dansgarage
      @dr.dansgarage  4 года назад +1

      Anthony morel I don’t remember any change in the sidewall. I’m pretty sure it looked the same and ride was fine. Treadwear is definitely faster with the camper. I probably did ~5k miles with the camper and maybe about the same with a loaded trailer. I’ve also done about 40k unloaded but its a heavy diesel at baseline. I’m planning on doing a mileage report at some point. With a heavy load they wear ok. Better than other AT tires I’ve had but maybe still only good for 60k miles. I will report back with more accurate numbers when I get a chance.

      L Rizo had a hard time trying to find them . The set they finally got were almost 3 years old so I refused them . Ended up getting the General Grabber ATX’s . Love them so far . Been a great tire . I had the generals on my work truck . F250 , huge tool boxes 100+ gallon transfer tank . She’s a heavy bitch and got almost 50k on them and still a lot of life left so I figured I’d give em a shot on my Dually . But towing , snow everything I’ve threw at them they’ve help up great

      @lrizo3841 4 года назад

      @@LvDirtJunky maybe I'll look into those General Grabblers.. I tow over 30,000 pounds with just my trailer and cargo not including the truck pretty much every day and I'm looking for a tire that will last long enough to handle the heavy weigh and off roads I put this truck through. Yeah I would have declined those tires too, sitting like that for that long probably isn't good. I was also considering the Goodyear Wrangler duratracs but we'll see.. Appreciate it
