    Fresh out of college with my first professional job making roughly about $52k a year. I will not mention the company. After 3 years of working at that company, I was told on a Wednesday that Friday will be my last day. I schedule a meeting with my manager and HR and they. gave me no reason about letting me go. It all came down to the company was downsizing. From that day forward, I never gave a company a two weeks notice. Never. Why would I give you more time to find a replacement and you're not willing to give me more time until I find a new job.

    • @brandonrichard3634
      @brandonrichard3634 3 года назад +41

      I don't know what industry you're in, but consider that two weeks notice is a courtesy you give that reflects well on you as an individual. If it's a terrible work environment with awful people then feel free to walk away as you see fit. I just got hired into this new role, it’s all new to me and everyone is really helping me out to get settled. It’s been three weeks since I got hired. But I have just been offered a better deal, and a better pay, I am currently working 3 days a week and this is a full time job opportunity. I don’t know what to say in my two weeks notice, I feel like I am letting them down and they are super busy right now, finding someone new will be a pull on them. But at the same time I need to go because this new opportunity is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I don’t know how to go about it

In march of this year I started a new job at my local Mercedes dealer as a service valet and I feel the same way, because the dealership is so crazy busy with all the service cars coming and some of my coworkers are good people but I just can’t take this job anymore! And plus my other job the parks department is hiring again which I liked working with them. It’s so hard to choose, but I put in my 2 weeks notice and a lot of weight has gone off my shoulders.

      It’s unfortunate that this happens, but if that’s how they’re going to treat someone, then it’s probably for the better that you did resign. When I put my two weeks in at my first job, everyone was giving me the silent treatment. After a couple years, they’ve still had trouble filling my position and realized that I was helping way more than what I was being paid for. And now they beg me to come back, like, gee, maybe you guys should have thought long-term, instead of in the moment when you tried to pretend I didn’t exist.

    I want to share something. I feel like I want to resign but I feel like there is no such a desire to start. Idk where to go. I dont seek new opportunities. If i could be honest I overwork, dont get paid enough, etc. I work in start up company. Which start up don't have enough cashflow to provide a lot of employee. The salary increment ain't enough. Too low for someone who've been working this far. No bonuses. I feel like I'm valuable but in the same time I feel not appreciated. It makes me undervalued myself and lack of confidence to start a new journey.
    Should I leave or stay? I'm 28. Been in this industry for almost 4 years.
    Using incognito accounts bcs I don't want to be mean to my current company. I grew alot but i feel like I could spread my wings wider in somewhere but not here anymore. An also I've thrived my company a lot. I dont like to get some credits. Bcs I'm result oriented. In the end I've finished my stuff. And that's the good.
