If the malformed shoe is leather, you can reshape it while wet. Soak it in the sink, get it drenched inside and out, get it on your foot, and don't take it off until it's dry. That's how you shape leather cowboy boots.
Heyy, as far as I know the stitching cannot be dyed since the thread is made of polyester and it doesnt absorb dye. But to avoid clothes turning purple just try to dye again with different brand of black dye. These are formulated either with different pigment mix or different strength of pigment. Maybe try to ge hands on professional dyes as these are formulated with higher amount of true pigment. I hope some of it helps !
your style is so refreshing, there aren’t that many alt thrifting channels so I was so happy to find you! the boatneck top with your tattoos is so freaking cute
Those Docs were priced cheap enough, I would have taken a chance on them too! When the sink overflowed I yelled "Noooo!" lol I hope that all cleaned up okay. Please update us on the Docs if you're able to make them work for you!

Nooo dont do all that soaking water of doc martens. Its a structural thing of the shoe. You dont want them to stretch. Take them to a shoe repair or Cobbler to have them reshape them properly on a form. They have been stomped around on like a flip flop so it will take a little more finessing. You dont want to wreck these great finds. The black skirt may need a few rounds of dye. But i did textile studies. You can get a big pot that you only use for dying clothing. Put the right amounts of water and check the material so you can get powder dye for that material. This will be like cooking your skirt in a soup of dye. The thread wont take because its a polyester thread. It wont dye but the contrasting thread can be cool. You could use thin black ribbon over all the stitching for a cool accent and cover on the white stitching . Use a fabric glue that may have a heat setting so you can press it and lock it onto the fabric with an iron. Some other ideas you will find on yt im sure.
Aaaaa ok I won’t do the soaking thing, I’ve already taken them to a cobbler and they said they can’t do anything about it but I swear they could’ve put it on one of those feet things and reshaped them so I think I should just go to another one. I will not give up on this shoe !! also yeah I’ve seen videos on yt of people dying clothes in a big pot but I just don’t have one lol I’ll have to try it for the skirt again. thank u so much !!
@@vexthrifts you are so welcome 🥰 oh I don't remember if I mentioned you have to boil the water, with the dye and clothing item on the stove. The directions should be on the box or the youtuber should tell you. Maybe you can find an old cheap pot at the thrift store. You'll be able to use that pot over and over to refresh your clothing colours.
@@vexthrifts oh no 😥 see that’s what I’m scared will happen if I try to dye clothes, are you going to try again? At least the dress was perfect though.
the sink is probably the best place to do it since it’s metal and doesn’t absorb the dye, I did it in a bucket and in a bath once and both were dyed lol
It was fine it’s basically the same as when it was cheep store, they still have some fast fashion stuff which isn’t great but the vintage pieces were pretty good for their price. What did the reviews say ?
@@vexthrifts The reviews mostly spoke about incredibly poor customer service stemming from a few of the staff members. There were like 10+ of them too which is why I was curious as to how you found it :)
oh damn I didn’t know that, the people working there were fine I guess they were like dancing and singing along to the music they were playing while serving me but I don’t have a problem with that

omg thank you !!!! I will definitely try this 🫶🏻
I like to reshape my bags using towels to fill them while they dry, just using some hags will do :)
THOSE DOCS OMG leather conditioner'll fix em right up those are a FIND
I’m praying they can be fixed 😭😭

that pink skirt...it gapes open because it's too small..just a tip for future skirt fittings.
I have the same problem with pants
The skirt came out pretty well. But hey thats my opinion
I thought it was cute too but def a more pale/ashy black or charcoal grey. I also like that the stitches were still white, adds nice contrast
it’s like a bright lilac purple in real life lol definitely not something I’d wear

I think I'll try again unless I find a skirt like it that's already black :)
Just found ur channel and im obsessed
3:16 i literally have these exact capri pants i don't wear them a lot but they are still pretty cute ^^
It’s so cool that you went to a protest and have so many resources available for people. Free Palestine 🇵🇸🇵🇸
i’m so sorry but those prices are INSANE for a thrift store omg 😭 $20 is wild if they got it for free
i think it’s vintage rather than thrift
'Goth chef jacket' 😂
Oh no, not in the sink!!! 😵💫
I've done it before and haven't had issues! Just make sure your sink is stainless steel and you're all good :)

Literally can never get my clothes black from dye!
What was your experience at wasteland? I'd love to go but their google reviews are less than favourable
