i want to point how atrocious are the regular, summonable 4* skill options, they barely provide value, locking any semblance of utility behind seasonals, and even then barely, if you want a good skill you need a 5*, so there is no room to build units freely
This. With how crazy prf weapons and skills are, there's little point in building units with 0 prf skills outside of liking that particular character. Arcanes were a nice bandage fix that made generics a bit better, but they're still not as good as a new 5* who has 10+ effects in their weapon and might _still_ get a prf skill that adds +9 to all stats and some other bullshit. Like, look at D!Lyon. What possible point is there to building _any_ other mage cav at the moment?
Speaking of summoning... Old revival banners are terrible. You have use the same amount of orbs for a chance to summon for favourites that lack any modren day skills. At that point why waste them on such a banner just to get a copy or multiple merges. To be frank I have no idea why these haven't been discounted yet, just remove the possibilty of the regular 5★ pool and make each summon 1 orb cost.
Your comment made me realize that we've only just gotten a tier 2 balm skill from a unit (Yuliya) even though they've existed for 6 years, and now the staff units have a different type of special to chase after. Balm skills weren't that good, but the multitude of demote healers they've released could have have some of the tier 2s.
Great video, dotsdfe! My main two problems with the game's design are as follows: 1. I definitely think IS has overplayed their hand when it comes to unit powercreep. Powercreep is supposed to incentivize you pulling the newest unit; however, when the powercreep is so absurd and the meta changes with every new banner, it is entirely likely that the unit you pulled will only be meta for a couple of weeks or months, as Wind Claude showed. So it is very hard to evaluate which units are both good now, and will be resistant to future powercreep. Otherwise you just "wasted" orbs for very minimal gain. 2. Skillcreep has gotten entirely out of control. I don't even necessarily just mean the length of the skills, although that is certainly a problem. Almost every new banner releases a skill that is very hard to interpret what exactly is going on (Potent 4, Laguz Friend 4). IS also loves to give out new versions of skills that powercreep a skill that was just released recently. Look how far the Distant Counter skills have gotten in 1 year. We started with Distant A/S Solo, then a few months later we get A/S Prime, and then a few months later we get D Bonus Doubler. As you mentioned, building units is just not fun right now and this is one of the main reasons for me..
This absolutely aged like fine wine. Now we have the following staples on every team that screams "Let them move and you lose" whether in arena, SD, or Aether raids: Emblem Ike - Tanks everything even meta heroes (except of course the newer brave units released this patch). Without any anti-healing, he just kills everyone even plus 10 blue seasonal units. It really didn't help that IS also release a c slot that makes him kill and tank even better. Emblem Celica - slap this on any unit with extra movement per turn or galeforce and watch them destroy your whole arena run and make you lose in one turn in Aether raids. Looking at you Brave Felix Brave Felix - speak of the devil, this unit is an annoying little shit that ruins almost all your pve runs. This man is the bain of my existence in arena and aether raids. You just slap him everywhere and you'll have the highest chances of winning before this brave batch arrived. In arena, the whales also have legendary elincia just to make sure you lose if you let the AI move first round. What a joke! Of course he might be powercrept in the next few months but man is he the most annoying the face at this current patch. Brave Alfonse - even though it takes a bit of setup to activate his unique skill, he just tanks everything even red mages. He just walls it. It doesn't help he has 4 movements too kinda like legendary sigurd. Heidrun - slap her onto your infantry units and everyone of them gets a breath of life 4. So you always see her on aether raids and arena and its so annoying as well And now we have the more annoying legendary male shez who can warp around everywhere and instantly end your runs in PVE as well as Duo Fjorm who is an absolute wall that essentially powercrept Winter Byleth after 9 months or so. All those units you've mentioned are now outclassed after just a few months! Wind claude is dead in the ditch, winter byleth esentially got powercrept by Duo Fjorm but even if not, Emblem celica and ike can kill them just easily. Duo Lyon at least still has some uses but not as used anymore because of the new Braves and probably even Duo Fjorm! IDK what IS is smoking but it seems that they now only cater to the whales and are essentially leaving f2ps to waste away and be fodder in terms of pvp/pve content that involves real player teams. Aether raids is now even less enjoyable than it was due to emblem ike and even before it was already a shit game mode to begin with, and the two brave male heroes that even though Brave Bernadetta is more unique with her Paranoia skill, she looks like she is outclassed by the presence of these two powercreeping units just because they can kill faster. It's so frustrating, so idiotic that I would have quit if I hadn't spent a lot of time and money on my favorite units that at least makes me able to stay in the middle of this meta.
This was a great watch! As a newer player who has been playing since last March, I actually love playing FEH as someone who just loves Fire Emblem and all of it's characters and worlds to a high degree. That being said it makes me so sad to see how FEH has massive problems in accomplishing just that. Allowing the player base to truly enjoy their favorite characters and worlds. It makes me so upset knowing that I can't use a personal favorite character of mine like Berkut, without insane investment from my wallet and the terrible implementation of how dragonflower costs only get higher for units like him. This game needs more than just the additional inheritance slot we got earlier this year, it needs massive quality of life changes like cleaning up the grossly outdated and bloated summoning pool, adding new modes that focus less of an emphasis on PvP and more on PvE, and lastly as another subject you touched upon, the infinite pit of powercreep this game never wants to stop falling down into, forcing players to play around these bogus new mechanics and gimmicks that didn't need to be in the game to start. Also the new player experience in this game is dreadful. Heroes Path is so horribly outdated and gives new players units that require a kings ransom to build into meta relevance, and even then that might still not be enough. New players also have to spend literal YEARS to catch up to the day one veterans in Sacred Seals, Dragonflowers, Refine Dew, and leveling up Aether Raid structures because of how stingy Intelligent Systems is in handing out resources. God forbid these new players try to be competitive in those PvP modes, especially Summoner Duels. I would know considering everything you have to learn in order to be competitive stems from third-party resources. (RUclips, Reddit, Twitter, etc.) I hate to write this massive text dump, but I really do enjoy the game like many others and just want to see it do better.
I kinda wish there was more to do with your units that wasn't just battling. I really like Heroes' Journey because of this - the little stories are cute. I also wish there was a non-combat mode that somehow used your unit's stats, like a mini DnD campaign where certain stats acted like checks for certain obstacles. And you'd gain items to raise/lower stats along the way, making sure you min-max your units in a way that lets you pass as many challenges as possible. Heck, at the end of it, add a boss fight that uses your units' modified stats to make it interesting.
Great video! I think that i definitely think is that 5 orbs per summon is a STEEP price for revival banners from everything pre book 5, yet merges are incredibly important. Givinng more access to duplicates of older units that dont have THAT good of skills would be a great way to keep players with older units feel like theyre progresssing
@@MrJulio632exactly, it took some strategy. And actually using staff units to heal. Nowadays it’s nuke your opponents and run out of reach or nuke and rush forward your defensive D/R unit behind the nuke.
Been playing the game for 1.7 years now. Despite all the powercreep I love the game more than ever. Much of it comes from Plumeria and Gullveig’s existence/ story which are my favorite OC’s rn and had a huge impact on my life. As for what was discussed in the vid I believe you are spot on. It’s gotten to a point that if you don’t have feh pass to spark on banners it’s incredibly difficult to keep up. I’m fortunate enough to have feh pass which makes the competitive modes (I love AR) very much manageable but it takes time and special or specific units + creativity to be able to be successful. I really do feel for ppl that are not competitive tho or don’t like the OC’s/ story. If I didn’t like book 7 I probably would not be playing feh rn as besides the competitive side of things there is not much to do. I’m really surprised that they haven’t added a co op mode yet or even a sandbox mode like they have in Fortnite as I think that alone would be HUGE and something I thought about even way back when I started feh. The only part I may not fully agree with is the banner section. I think they are doing a decent job with their picks and W! Byleth seemed to sell quite well. I could be bias since I have generally enjoyed the picks in the last year and the new emblem rings imo is one of the best things they ever added (is very refreshing) but again could be a minority. They also added 5 inheritance slots along with a banger feh channel recently which a lot of people loved so if they can just do things like that CONSISTENTLY + more orbs overall each month to keep up with the powercreep + a sandbox mode/ co op and the general love for feh will be back!
Fun fact: you can still get the rewards for summoner duels without having to actually play, on some weekends there’s a guranteed +10 point bonus to matches regardless of whether you win or lose, so just slap together a fodder team, set it on auto, and watch the rewards roll in
Regular Summoner Duels *could* be a lot more enjoyable if they gave options for every book restirction. Reality is that your typical match against an opponent will always have the brand new toys. I know that i'd personally kill to have a book 1 resticted mode.
FEH's biggest fumble will forever be choosing to focus on PvP over PvE. The entire Fire Emblem series is one focused on PvE... so I have no idea why I$ chose to go down this road other than thinking they'd be able to get more whale bucks out of it. I certainly didn't download it back in 2017 to 1v1 anyone behind powercreep gacha features, oh well.
I dont MIND PVP stuff existing but I do think they need to have more singleplayer modes. Seer's snare was a huge step in the right direction I thought that mode is honestly fantastic and genuinely really fun. I think having some level of social aspect does add to the game too even if PVP is cancer. I think using friends weird projects in stuff like Binding Worlds is also fun.
pvp is more interesting /fun, aether raids is one of the best modes. Wish I had more time to watch replays before they get deleted, those're fun, and setting up def and taking on others was very cleverly done summoner battles in real time is interesting, or was, before the power creep. That's the bigger issue, if the ftp players can't compete at all w paid players and whales. When ftp players beat superior teams based on intellect and not just throwing money around, that's part of the satisfaction in terms of pve, idk how you could make it interesting long term. What do you suggest? Just scaling units up is boring or annoys me, like some of the challenges, where back in the day black knight or other unit would reach like 80-90Hp while my units were like under 40. Eventually it just gets, meh that's just cheap, and I leave that mode. pvp is more interesting bc human creativity and setup is far more interesting than just computer generated setups
@@timothyn4699 Honestly, I think they should've kept the gardens alive and use newer units within, without overcharging them with ridiculous units. That mode was fun because it got you to create teams through the blessing system and use more units than you typically would. Arena assault can also make you use more units, but the problem is that you need 7 counters for emblem Ike or Winter Byleth or whatever, because you divide your power by 7 against 7 players at full power. Also, PVE allows for more inventive maps, like the Veld GHB that was interesting to go around. Raid bosses with friends could be fun to implement, co-op is genuinely something I'd like to see. Maybe real-time optional though, cause I quite like the fact it's not very time consuming, and online queues could be very annoying, but I can see why it's interesting to go in it real-time with friends and all. Maybe some mode to relive certain moments of the actual games, where your units from that game gets bonuses and stuff, that's been done in many franchise-based gacha, and they're typically pretty fun.
It's an unfortunate thing that a lot of companies do where, with games with a few years behind them, they think of ways of milking the existing fanbase since they expect the growth to slow down, which naturally will happen. I do agree though that more well thought out modes is a big key though for getting more interest back.
This is a great video and I agree with a lot of the points presented. (Long comment incoming lol) I really like FEH, which is why I keep playing it despite interest going down. I got into this game at the recommendation of a friend years ago before I played a proper FE game (that being FE Fates and Awakening, goated games). It was a magical experience as my first gacha game but it has its problems and really became present over recent years and a lot of the points you mentioned has kept me F2P simply because its just not worth it. Fav Character Interest: A majority of my favorite characters are from FE Fates and Awakening so naturally I gravitate towards those units when they come out. Specifically any Camilla (fav of all time), Charlotte, Nah, Kjelle, Setsuna who HASN'T gotten any alts to my knowledge and a few others. I decided to dedicate all my resourses into building the best Camilla team I could with the units and skills I have. It was fun for a really long time...until I found out that these teams barely stood a chance against the current units (L. Camilla and N. Camilla are the only exceptions to this). I actually ended up getting all the Camilla alts and as soon as I got them, I felt like a weight was lifted from my shoulders and all these new units from other FE games seemed unimportant which has a little to do with Powercreep which I'll touch on in a sec. After the release of L.Camilla I found myself saving for a VERY long time simply because no unit interested me. I only pulled on banners with either really meta units or units I've always wanted but couldn't get. Now I just play for consistency and being satisfied with where my Camilla team is at right now. Powercreep/Meta: Now here's the big issue, I touched on it a bit before but a big reason I'm F2P is because the meta changes so quickly!!! Any time I think, "this might be the meta breaking unit of all time" they're irrelevant or have a hard counter in a few months. Its hard to invest in any character nowadays because a better unit will probably come in just a month lol. Its even worse when youre building characters like you said in the video. Its super fun but I found it very dishearting when I finally finished my Setsuna build (before Arcane weapons) and she just got one shot by modern unit of the month #86. It feels useless sometimes. It feels even worse with my Camilla teams which I've invested FAR more into (especially Normal Camilla who is strong in her own right now). Like I get units are supposed to be powerful for player interest but the fact that none of my Camillas can even scratch Emblem Ike is insane to me. Like so many resources, dragon flowers, ascended florettes and not even a scratch. Even L. Camilla who was fairly recent couldn't put a dent in him and its just sad. For normal content, using my Camilla team regularly is the most satisfying thing since I can finally auto battle without worry now. But my point still stands for powercreeping and broken skills. I even stopped reading the paragraphs for new skills cause I just knew they were either broken or needlessly complicated. I always wait to see what PheonixMaster1 has to say and then make my judgement. Gameplay: Not gonna take long here. I just want more effort put into the PvE or Co-op. They literally have their FE games as base for potentially interesting game modes. I was incredibly interested in FEH's story mode for the first 3 books because it was genuinely good for me (I'm a story guy) AND I was able to do it all at once. That was until I caught up and realized I had to wait an ENTIRE MONTH for ONE chapter that usually is not worth the wait. And idk if its just me but I also feel like the story in general went a little lower in quality in my opinion. Not bad but just not as good. So now even the story isn't as interesting to me anymore which was a big reason I was playing before. I just wish we had MORE to do in FEH. Story, more in depth PvE modes, Co-op (not summoner duels 😑), etc. With all of these things I'm just waiting to see what happens to FEH. Now I just pull for either interesting units, favs or attractive units. Still waiting for normal Noire and a few others in FEH looool. But again, great video! Sorry for rambling lol.
I’ve stopped playing FEH with the introduction of FEH Pass but I still watch the game from afar and while that was my breaking point, there’s more problems than just that. - A focus on PvP instead of PvE, when PvP is much more cancerous than PvE and nobody likes to get dunked on by whales. - The main story is trash and focuses on these boring ocs they constantly shovel out while mainline FE characters are basically nonexistent and only get interaction in one mode for a crossover game. - Summoning is a bad experience between no way to do bulk pulls, locking sparks for most banners behind a paywall, and 80% of the common pool being 5+ years old units who are unusable in current meta. - Most progression is super time limited and is either tied to PvP participation, spending money or summoning. - Almost any skill of value is locked to five stars and they rarely give out any decent or recent skills - Most male characters unless they are protagonists and some male OCs are treated poorly regardless of popularity, often given the free or demote slots with the worst kits of the banners. Or how Ascendeds went from being almost exclusively female to having multiple male units suddenly released in it once they realized they were the least popular special type for new hero banners lol. The skillcreep and powercreep has been on a death spiral ever since that one stretch of time where they introduced Saves, Legendary Sigurd, Fallen Edelgard, and Bride Catria within quick succession. Its just gotten to the breaking point where skill descriptions are nigh on unreadable and units are being invalidated in a matter of 2-3 months.
I stopped playing by fallen Edelgard. The powercreep became way too absurd. I tried a few arena fights and every time this fucking unit appeared and no matter what i did, no matter who i took with me.. I couldn't beat this literal monster. The only way i could have gotten around her is.. well.. by investing money and pull some recent 5*. That's when i've had enough. Congratulations, you've become more predatory than FGO. *slow clap*. (The very sad irony nowadays is, that Fate grand order is now one of the most harmless gacha games out there...)
As someone who grew alongside FEH as the one and only Ghost Aggron AKA Mr. Effectively(?) Using, I really can relate to a lot of what you said here. (I also like that you indirectly mentioned the stupidity of School Idol Festival 2's ridiculously stupid global release lol, being a Love Live guy I can confirm that situation is as messy as it sounds from an outside perspective.) FEH powercreep really invalidates so many units so fast that there's almost no reason to build up an older unit when a new unit does there job but objectively way better. Even Abyssals are a cake walk when you just throw Gullveig and Winter Dimitri at the problem. I think PVE modes can still be enjoyable with units you make just for the sake of making them, but lots of modes I just throw the Ivy I was lucky enough to snag at the problem and at that point the challenge is virtually gone. My Effectively(?) Using Alfonse and Effectively(?) Using Reinhardt videos used to get me a lot of views and took me from 30 subs to like 300 and paved the way for me to get to nearly 4.5K before my old channel got vibe checked. Nowadays, my FEH content doesn't have a shred of the same draw it used to, and I struggle to find new and exciting things to use for Effectively(?) Using videos. Like you said, other creators branched out and I definitely did to Love Live, to the point it's become more of a focus on the channel than Fire Emblem. I really loved this analysis, and honestly I've been thinking of making a video on the state of FEH myself for a little while. Excellent vid!
It's always interesting when someone brings a new video about the state of the game. Unironically, things have not changed since 2 or even 5 years ago with lucky crits video addressing this
Merge are unnecessary 99% of time. +4 in each stats hardly changes matchup in this day and age. You just need get one copy of the "new toy" of the meta to be fully competitive in this game. And get one copy it's pretty easy even for free to play and for low spender it's praticaly garanteed. I will also add that Florets are equally unnecessary for the effectiveness of a character and that this will not impact 99% of machupt.. The addition of the Rearmed and Attuned characters is an excellent thing for the game. They are already a necessary boost to make a huge number of units in the game viable because without them it would not be possible to make any unit at least viable (which is a very good thing) And we can also talk about their skill duplication ability which allows you to obtain a huge amount of skill that would otherwise be very difficult to obtain. The game obviously has problems in certain aspects but they do not come from these elements in question
@@sigzbro for scoring obviously merge are usefull. But for this game mode the grail units serve as a completely sufficient bot score, no need to invest in something premium. My point is mainly about combat issues
This summed up how I feel about the current state of the game to a T. It's still a fun character collector with charming interactions, but as a game it just feels so tedious. The current power creep feeling like the result of a 7 year high speed arms race came with another problem: keeping track of what everything does is a huge headache. Early on, skills were simple and easy to understand. Maybe you gave some stat buffs to a nearby unit, or staves healed themselves when healing others, or enemies couldn't pass by your character. Distant counter was basically the best skill in the game, so if you had it in your prf you were set. I remember seeing a joke comic that made an 'OP character' who could counter at any range, hit twice in both phases, and had built in vantage. That's literally OG Altina, and she's nowhere near a meta unit anymore. With modern skills, particularly prf skills and weapons, it's a long and exhaustive wall of text that reaches the bottom of the screen, and I really don't want to memorize that. I mean have you read Laguz friend? Mobile games are supposed to be a fun little time waster I do on break, but it feels like I need a PhD just to understand the game now. They can't go back now either, since obviously weaker skills just aren't going to sell.
FEH was in a nice place, and then every single release they added in the past year power crept the shit out of the game. If you aren't using exclusively heroes from the last year you are basically useless
I've played FEH since the very beginning and at any point in time I've felt like abandoning the game until today. I've invested a lot of skills on 5 o 6 characters and it doesn't make any sense how they are basically rendered useless by 1 or 2 abilities. I've wanted to inherit potent 4 from the one Marth copy I got for example, then like a month later I see the new Ike Laguz friend B skill and it completely nullifies the multiple attacks, the no-counter staff offensive builds and basically anything that isn't heavily invested. It's just tiring at this point.
I still remember that time where f!Edelgard was a top unit and now she gets beaten by other units so quickly. I started feh because of Azura and now, my old azura units aren't strong enough ( I don't play meta so I can only blame that on me ). And I'm sad because my Azura's were my pride back then and now my old azura's are just stocked in a box 😭
I comeback to this game every year and so, I remember pulling fallen byleth and that being the most absurd unit in my box and now 10 monts later I get destroyed by any enemy like wtf 😭, rn I'm just focusing in getting all the abilities that I need to make legendary lucina metah 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I feel like another point worth mentioning is the story is kind of lacking. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like there's a lot of missed opportunities when it comes to developing certain characters. Like Anna for example. I think she's great, but I can't really recall any kind of significant character development since the game launched. Great video, agree with everything.
Gave Summoner Duels a try (175 favor) and every time I do, I remember why I DON'T play Summoner Duels. Now Seer's Snare, love it, more of that please. Also as an F2P, summoning sucks...
The DR meta is where everything started to collapse IMO. Certain units can get near 100% unpierceable damage reduction out of the box. You either need precombat damage or AOE specials to fight certain units, or you just straight up lose certain matchups. It makes me close the app consistently.
U did such a great job explaining this Dotts! Very impressive ur breakdown and explanation stated feh problems very well! Man feh really need to leave pvp and focus on pve mods they're so much fun and better like they'd have more new players I feel like! Like u won't believe me when I say I had to wait 7 years to get a good non controversial alt of my favourite character Sanaki like literally 7 years!! While yes she got a alt before it was really bad and controversial so it's like ridiculous to imagine 7 years lol but it was worth it tbh since I got her as my dream duo with her big sister! :)
I uninstalled two days ago, deleted my data. Ike countering rearmed blue tome from Reinhardt finally did it. We can't even get that tome with the codes yet and it's already powercreep lol there's just no point
The funny thing watching this almost 6 months later, is Lyon has lost power since omni tanks that he just can't take out, like Emblem Ike and B!Alfonse, became staples on pretty much every single team. It is still really hard to build new units, but that ends up forcing people to invest in future-proof units. The irony being that it's so hard to detect which unit will be future-proofed because they keep adding more mechanics.
Yeah, I made the video knowing that the meta would definitely change as the game went on. Amusingly, I released the video a few hours before Emblem Ike's trailer, which pretty much immediately shifted the meta around in itself. But it kind of reinforces my point in that very few if any units have any longevity, and that it's really hard to keep up with the meta with how quickly it shifts.
@@dotsdfe For what it's worth, I do think B!Alfonse will have staying power for the rest of the game cycle, since currently he's the only unit that can reach 99 atk/def during turn 1. Surprisingly cheap to do so as fodder wise he only needs Gregor if you want neutral IVs or summer Dedue and run attack boon (and +10 merge, and 4 individual copies of Mila, but honestly given banner reruns any dedicated f2p person could do it over time. You can even run it with below +10 merges if you ended up having enough copies of an Emblem unit to boost his stats that way instead.) Until the day 99 in stats is not good, B!Alfonse will always have a place at minimum in AR offense light season.
As a day 1 player, never taking a break and seeing all the meta devolve into whale/kraken paradise, I just reached the point where this is a card collect game, I reached arena 20 once so I'm satisfied, but as you said, I'm waiting for Summer or Winter Echidna, I'll probably quit the game out right, there's nothing more and the devs are going the pokemon path of not giving a shit (especially with the fiasco of the young tikis that the devs are beyond obsessed with)
I'm debating on quitting Feh soon after i finish my favorites Getting burnt out again unfortunately but I'll just to stick to regular FE games to play the meta state is making it unplayable or not fun the story is either good or rushed
Although you touched on good points, you didn't mention that attuned and rearmed units don't go away after you use them. This was a very good idea and it's only missed potential was that engage units aren't like this. Also looking at your icon I think we all could use more Tibarn,I still use my +10 one and he still kills it
You killed it, dots! I was in the attuned hero release stream and it was negative for sure. Focus on pve, please! And bring back old modes is you don't want to create new modes. I will do a rokkr or a rival domains any day over duels.
Its funny how Feh has lots of different versions of a same hero and they DONT use them to make an alternative Story Mode or Story Event Mode. Its so sad to see some protagonists in their pinnacle states in the game and we dont get an Story Mode to focus on the protagonists journey to reach that state. Also, Feh could use versions of heroes from various different age's and genders, but they stick only to the "Holiday/comemorative day" kinda versions, like... they could make younger versions of older characters ou older versions of young characters as variants, Feh really feels like wasted potential sometimes.
I waited all these years for them to add base severa, i finally got her and +10d and super built her and she just gets annihilated by pre combat damage and dr piercing. Its so sad and makes me not want to play
This is such a great video and such an important conversation and reflection to have about the game. I think the only salvation is to invest in PvE. Make Seer's snare permanent or at least more frequent, they struck gold with that mode and I think they should capitalize on that.
Yeah I'm just here to get the participation points usually. But enough effort to stay in Vault or move in and out of Vault. As well as getting tier 21 in arena modes, then get kicked out the week after. The thing that keeps me going is building a unit that is a favorite, but not for the sake of using them in PvP or any extremely tedious mode. I will use them, but its just fun to use in a more casual way.
PVP content is what keeps this game alive because it is where unit building and team building is relevant. There is very very little PVE content difficult enough to encourage unit building and team building, which is the entire premise of this kind of game. Even if we did have PVE content challenging enough for that, you'd have just as many people complaining about the state of the game as people complaining about PVP modes like Aether Raids or SD. For PVE content, we recently had the one of the most challenging Abyssal released in Emblem Ike. The playerbase reaction was polarizing: on one on hand you have a variety of strategies and unit types to successfully tackle the challenge. On the other hand, you have people decrying it as being "Too hard" and "unfair" without giving any single attempt at coming up with a strategy to beat it. We have PVE skill studies, but people also think thats too hard (also not enough reward). Grandmaster studies are Summoner Duels equivalent of PVE content and a lot of people are just not into that level of thinking and planning. Almost any challenging PVE content is going to be rejected by the community (remember early difficult PVE maps? People complained and complained and complained about reinforcements). Any non-challenging PVE content is just going to be unengaging and added to the list of "click a few buttons a day and win". So that leaves PVP content, which is easy for IS to manage because the content and meta is community driven. In PVP, there is obviously rampant powercreep, but the thing is keeping your favorites relevant is easier than ever now with all the of the ways you can boost their power, either through powerful support units, powerful effects (engage and new skills). Like mentioned in the video, it's just hard and resource intensive to keep up with the text creep in skills, and difficult to keep up with all the effects every unit has these days. However, regardless of that, the bar for success in FEH still remains relatively low in contrast to the power of units. For example, if units have a power of 10 (an arbitrary metric), then FEH is the type of game where you only need a unit power of 5 to actually be successful. Top players in AR or SD are almost always F2P or very light spenders. The teams that top players use are teams that literally any player can put together if they use resources wisely. I've been using the same core of units in both seasons of Aether Raids for almost several years now, only updating their skills as improved ones come out, and I've very rarely drop below Vault of Heaven. The problem is that the amount of strategy, teambuilding, and thinking has increased significantly over time. FEH is almost now a proper "strategy" game, when for the first few years of its life it absolutely was not. Your average playerbase for FEH is not interested in strategy beyond either (1) use nuke + dancers and keep out of red danger zone, or (2) plonk 1 powerful unit into danger red zone and win the game. PVP modes require significantly more unit/team building along with positioning and thinking a few turns ahead to be successful.
I think there are a few things that they can do to help to. Like I think its finally time to start demoting again. the 5 star special pool now just has the same problem the pool did before. and demoting a lot of these characters like Ephriam, Ike, will allow people to keep working on characters they love in the pool way more easily and make some of those skills that are needed as fodder to get to more of those premium skills available. Its not like there arent still premium versions of those characters as, Legendaries, Seasonal Alts and Emblems already or coming out too. I think removing the limit of times you can get a Grail unit would be healthy too. If I want to build an aether defense team of all +10 Arvis then darn tootin let me do it if i am willing to spend the 500 grails per copy to do it. I think a few of these gamemodes should just always be active, like they should always be running a Tempest Trials or a Forging bond or rerunning old ones. Theres no reason you cant always have a lost lore active, it personally is how i get most my badges and stuff as I dont care to do the Training tower grinds for the 10 orbs. the training tower as a whole needs to be updated because right now you can just use the rotating training maps, giving you no reason to ever go to the training tower. I think more gamemodes like Grand Conquest should be a thing too, Give people reasons to interact with more than 4 units they build up.
I personally think that the devs need to start rolling out new abilities for existing characters faster. 2-4 characters a month isnt enough when you consider there’s already over a thousand characters. I get they need to make money off of new characters. But this is crazy how useless so many characters are. Characters I’ve spent more money than I’d like to admit to spending on are just sitting there rotting. Also, they need to make quality of life changes. Like if I want to obtain a skill from a merged unit. It should take off one of the + units off and allow me to inherit a skill. Sometimes I don’t realize how good an ability is and just merge a unit only to find out it’s utility on another unit is better. Nowadays I just have like multiples of units just lying around just in case I need the ability for another unit. Instead of merging.
My favorite character is Soleil. I waited 4 something years for her to get a flavorful Prf. Weapon like Selena or Effie, even if she wasn't good. Well, she got a Prf., it sucked by standards set 3 years ago, it has 0 flavor, and now I just have to sit here with a favorite character that the developers actively despised since she appeared in Fates 😭 And immediately after her prf. released, the next book came out, and left her, and every unit that released before her wildly in the dust. Heres a *small* fix: Make it so that every unit has a free inherit, like rearms. You get to pump up your favorite units, and get to keep the strong modern unit to play the game. But I agree with all of the points you've made. The game has been going down hill since Fallen Edelgard, and was made EVEN WORSE after Blazing Lyn. The worst thing is that, while all of these new systems help, THEY ARE ALSO AVAILABLE TO ALL OF THE MODERN UNITS THAT INVALIDATE THE BAD UNITS !!! All of the bandages they are giving to old units just exacerbate the problem !!!
Day 1 player here, still waiting on FE8 (Sacred Stones) Garcia, been constantly voting for him. I have sooo many orbs saved up on story maps I haven't completed and such just in case he releases for the instant/ASAP +10. this sucks and is further exacerbated by the lack of interesting banner variety. For example most FE8 seasonal banners have the twins, Myrrh and Lyon, with other decently popular picks (Marisa, Lute, etc). But this past V-Day banner just irritated me because it was once again the main 4 that already get tons of alts EDIT: I forgot to get to the point, sorry my point is, my interest in wanting to keep playing in case my #1 fave fe character of all time comes out is waning as the powercreep gets more unbearable and his viability probably dropping the more time passes where the gap between demotes and premium units widens.
Same, but instead of Garcia, I'm waiting for Geitz. I usually don't mind the egregious powercreep but it's just gotten worse this past 2 years. DR you can't bypass on instakill units, before combat damage, whatever bullshit Gullveig has going on and instant warping you can't stop unless you bring certain heroes along. It's torture doing any kind of PVP, even weekly arena runs.
I absolutely think that one of the biggest problems is the redundancy of characters who get alts. Even as someone who still loves Three Houses and thinks all three of the main house lords are at least really good characters, the 2023 Winter banner was a disappointment. It would've been a little better if the Duo had been a Harmonic with a Byleth and an Alear
Feh is such a wild game, where it gets simpler the more complicated it gets. There's no point in trying to understand all these new gimmicks, i just give them to my +10 raven when i pull them and hope he can kill with them.
my biggest problem with feh is once I summon my favorite unit and the hype dies down, I look at where I can use my new unit at and theres......really nothing. AR is time gated to a one maybe two times a day, arena is pay to win and your score won't increase at all if you dont have the necessary scoring bots anyways, and summoner duels is fine but I much prefer AR. I wish I could open the game and not auto battle a random event and have literally nothing else to do
The game honestly feels in a good spot to me lately, but just as like an casual collecting game. Any type of competitive mode on this game is dead to me forever because the power creep is just ridiculous to keep up. But to just play and collect some of characters you like, the game feels better than ever to me. I used to like aether raids and arena but these days its just log in, get orbs, maybe summon, log out. And atleast for me I'm okay with that. I don't see the game eos any time soon I think they still make enough money to stay up for awhile
for me feh died the day we got desert byleth and nino, not just because it wasnt marisa mind, just that it showed that IS is only really committed to reprinting center stage main characters as much as humanly possible, i think feh is at its best (at least from a character standpoint) when its a showcase of the whole cast, not just a select handful. as for the gameplay i couldnt even say how long ago i stopped caring about the gameplay lol, its been a while, i mostly just play all pvp content on the easiest difficulty with ophelia
Tanks having been useless for two to three months, TMS ignored for multiple years without even getting the other half of the cast, and Chrom not having Falchion since 2018. I'll admit I'm a lot less excited for FEH than I used to be.
Yeah, my +2 ascended Idunn is less tanky than Emblem Ike somehow? (ig because it's due to his DR). I don't even understand why DR was implemented when they could've just doubled down on defensive stats. It seems like a cheap way to make a unit completely busted and counter any nukes that you try to throw at them. But I'm just a f2p casual so my POV is a bit skewed.
@@Snorlaxsnaxx DR was added as a way to implement Dodge as a mechanic, for the sake of Myrm classes that were notably weak. That's why the earliest DR is all Speed based. Issue was they started a snowball of buffing nukes to handle DR, then having to buff DR to handle the new nukes, etc.
I don't think majority of playerbase care for top end balance of the game. I played the game at launch and I am trying npw again and I have plenty of content for months to come. I'll take a break after. I like just building random old units and doing the story and random challenges they give me while only have 5-6 decently competitive units for events and pvp
My problems are once you got you fav unit max out he will still suck (Speacially if you like units from books 1-4), and that every time they realease a "broken unit who will make your team dissapear". For example, now is Emblem Ike, like what can you do against him if you dont build your team around it?
I started the game mid second book and stopped playing around the time when fallen Edelgard was added. I have alot of gripes with the game and it did not help, that i was palyign a second, alot more catching gacha next to it. (Fate grand order) I'll be comparing the two games alot. First of all, i gotta say the 5* rate of FeH is very generous. With it being between 4(?) to 8% versus something like 1% of FGO and even worse rates in alot other games (Genshin having 0.6%), it's definitely 'throwing' 5* Units at you. Which in return makes it even more annoying if you did not get the 5* you were looking for. Also the system, that you get a random array of colours in a pulling round was often more annoying than nice. Way too many times, i've tried to pull a certain colour and it just would not appear or only one orb per round. It was infuriating. It made me hate pulling for new characters insted of being excited. That is bad. Generall, the music is good. It uses a nice mix of og and already existing game music. Also being able to set music for certain areas is a nice touch. Now my first huge gripe is the story. It's bland, short and predictable. While FGO's first story-parts aren't exactly the cherry on top either, they did significantly improve and wrote absolutely banger stories, full of twists emotion and suspence. One of Feh's books would be on average about a 10-20% of one story-arc of FGO at best. It got to the point where i just started to shamelessly skip the story because it was so utterly obnoxious and i just wanted the orbs. Generally the events don't really have much/any story either besides some fluff dialogue and were very repetitive and needlessly grindy. My biggest issue was how punishing the game is to f2p-players. You had to budget extremely well and only draw for the newest meta-defining unit to be able to do anything at all in PvP-modes like the arena or the floating island. This is also the reason i stopped playing the game, because at some point, namely when fallen Edelgard was launched, i did not have a singular unit that was capable of taking her out. And crafting teams is also a big nono because you either sacrifice a valuable 5* to give another one a good skill only for that little edge to dissappear once the next banner hits anyway. I assime Fallen Edelgard is complete end of the row nowadays as well. They also made the game more predatory in general adding buyable items to give older units a small stat boost (and a new look), items to retain units from one of the events and whatever else i've forgotten. They tried many things to make older unit stay up to speed but they're either way too few stats gained or way too grindy for not much improvement. On the other hand i have a game (fgo) that updates old Servants and sometimes actually makes them top tier again, hands out new outfits to gain in game (none can be bought via money) and gives very strong Servants for completing events. Given, Fgo does not have a PvP mode and does have Powercreep as well. But you can access any content with a wide variety of Teamcompositions. Also.. don't play the game. It's still a gacha after all. :D It's kinda sad to see that my gripes have only worsened over time and i'm glad i stopped playing.
"Way too many times, i've tried to pull a certain colour and it just would not appear or only one orb per round. It was infuriating. It made me hate pulling for new characters insted of being excited. That is bad." This just depends on your perspective I think. I like that system, and to compare it to fgo, imagine if you could do one pull for 5 quartz, and see what all cards were. If you were going for a berserker you can save the 25 quartz you would use for that multi if you didn't get any berserker. So you only spend quartz on chances to pull the character you want. Or if you were going for an extra class servant and could spend 5 quartz to see the roles of all cards, and then you could only choose to spend quartz on the ones that were extra servant. I just think its better than paying 20 quartz to get 5 random chars, paying just 5 quartz and seeing if it has a chance to be what you want. You could go in and out of the summon menu 4 times for 20 quartz and you only missed one pull. In fgo you would do one multi instead and not get the character you want, but if they used feh system you would use 5 quartz, see it was a shit roll, and then try again. You could get 6 chances for a good multi for the same cost of one multi which wont have anything useful in current state of fgo. "My biggest issue was how punishing the game is to f2p-players. You had to budget extremely well and only draw for the newest meta-defining unit to be able to do anything at all in PvP-modes like the arena or the floating island." Agreed Pvp in this game is a hot mess. But I think if you liked the characters, art style, etc, you could find enjoyment of the game still, as long as just stop caring about pvp. The same way you would in fgo, just cause the pvp mode are there don't mean you need to tryhard in them "On the other hand i have a game (fgo) that updates old Servants and sometimes actually makes them top tier again, hands out new outfits to gain in game (none can be bought via money) and gives very strong Servants for completing events." Cap, 90% of old servants are bad forever, and most buffs are on limited SSR you don't even have. Even when they buff an old servant they are still useless because they have bad card numbers. And feh literally does that exact same thing too with weapon refines and new inheritance and good f2p units (especially grail projects). Yes grail projects are not the strongest chars in the game but neither are fgo welfares. grail heroes are definitely equal to fgo welfares which are also not equal as the limited SSR supports like castoria which take 900 damn quartz to guarentee (7 times as many pulls as it would take to pity someone in feh, 6 times as many quartz even though quartz give more pulls per currency than orbs anyway, and quartz is also not given out nearly as generously as orbs). The gacha in fgo is literally the worst in the entire genre and like 90% of the reason every gacha today have a pity (it also have the worst pity system by far and its not even close). Also even if you get a good f2p welfare f2p don't have the whale craft essence that actually make them good (mlb black grail, kaleido). Honestly I don't know or care which game is better they are both kinda equal to me with their own pros and cons, but as someone who played both games you just sound like a fanboy. Nothing wrong with that just my view on this response lol fgo has a lot of problems you're willing to ignore while feh has literally all of the same things you are saying make fgo good (insignificant buffs to old units and competitive welfare chars) plus a gacha that isnt the worst of all time. Also off banner pulls on fgo are even worse imagine you were going for castoria and you got anastasia, and now need to spend 300 quartz to even get another chance at her because 1% rate. But thats just what I mean by literally everything you complain about in feh exists in fgo and everything you praise about fgo exists in feh
@@ironman1458 The thing with FGO is, that there's too many classes for this to work out. Besides, you can do one pull by one at no drawback besides it being slightly annoying and taking longer. You do not loose quartz if you do one by one. In Heroes you do loose currency and that is not only annoying but also infuriating. While it does alloy you to select the class range which is nice it also limits you to those colours in a pull and you have to sacrifice currency to get a new loadout. In the end it's down to preferences i suppose. I really hated those loadouts and felt it more acceptable to pull from the entire pool the entire time which ironically felt less rng than the loadout stuff. (Which its not, but it made me feel bad and that is what counts in terms of player experiences) For PvP or not PvP: it makes the game feel alot different. For FeH you had two types of content: baby-mode and tryhard. There was barely anything in between. Either you could just pretty much let autobattle do its thing or the challenge was this difficult that you either HAD to get out the big guns or not beign able to do it at all. And that feels bad. And that is not yet counting the PvP-modes. As for FGO, it does balancing qquite well by now. The early chapters did have some hiccups, i admit, but both story as well as events are very fairly balanced and even tell you what your expected level should be for it. And because you have less powercreep and older Servants get updated, you can still use day-1-Servants for hard (boss)fights. OR your favorites. 90% is a gross overestimation. The difference for FGO and FEH is that alot of the damage is also due to the supports and not the Servant itself. Of yourse, 5* will in most cases be better than 1-3* But even thoose can fill a nice Niche. Like Asterion just trivializing the end boss of the first story half. (He's 1-2* btw) Or Euryale being the single strongest Nuke against male Sabers. I've used about 70% of the low tier Servants and alot were quite surprisingly usefull given the right support. But let's not talk about the Assassin class. Those are mostly trash from 1-5* anyway. The refines were nice and some did get a cute little Nische, but for the most part (taking our nice 90% here) it was useless as it was either a bad effect or just not enough to cut it in a long shot to get back up to speed with the meta. You cannot compare the welfares to a unit upgrade. The wellfares of FGO are their own Units. Besides, there's alot more objectively good Welfares than there are bad ones. An early one (Shiki) is still my second best Assassin. Santa Karna is the bist single target quick saber in the game. I sttill regularly farm waves with a 3 year old Arts AoE welfare. Since you have unit limits putting some 3-4 star in the roster is actually preferred and them not being dead weight is a wonderful bonus. You do not need to have a MLB black grail to be strong. Just one copy is enough. MLB Kaleido is not needed anymore due to the abundance of good supports with np batteries. If you do the events, you get alot of very good MLB CE's. And if you're struggling, there's still the friendlist and your friendly neighbourhood Ajuna Alter to do the heavy lifting for you. FGO is pretty streamlined in how to upgrade your Servants. FEH sounds more liek they tack on more and more different systems in an attempt to retain relevancy for old characters but make everythign way too grindy/unobtainable for it to actually feel rewarding to go through. I've tried to keep base Chrom (because i like this dork) relevant. Meaning he was +10, and made a specific build for him. Since his refine gives him stat when he's near somebody i made sure to stack these types of abilities on him and give him an S--support with a unit that would give him additional protection, buffs etc. I tossed everything i did have at him. And still. It was not enough. If i gave the same treatment to pretty much any 1* Servant. They'd at least be useable and not get steamrolled by the next best two-metas-ago-Unit. I did say that one of the few things good in feh are the 5* rates. And yes, it's anoying. It's similarly annoying if you're gunning for 5* dimitri and get nother not quite demoted, why out of touch 5* blue unit. Especially since that unit will most likely be utter trash. At least Anastasia is still usable s a unit as per your example. So you still have a net gain at the end of the day. At the end of the day it's still gacha after all.
Feh has become meh, way too much OP and power creep, from greed typical of mobile gaming. Abysmal chances of getting what you want, low chances plus even when you summon 5 star unlikely to get the hero you want, as well as the right boons. The pricing schemes of most if not all mobile games is gross
Having AHR decided by VG is a mistake, PVP is a mistake, powercrept is everywhere, premium skills/items are obnoxious, scoring in arena is a mistake, these paragraphs in descriptions are a mistake, feh story narrative and characters are cringe and bad, summoning rates in legendary/mythical/engage ring are a mistake, free unit not being every color in a summon is a mistake
he's good but gets stomped on pretty easily by some new units I hate those units that automatically have nuking capabilities on turn 1 or 2, via AoE special attack, so like they attack and 1-3 units now have like 1-10HP. (Or the high pre-damage units). You used to have to build up to it, now they can wreck you at the start, and so you just have to stay out of their range and hope you outrange and hit them first, which isn't always possible. Or have the Medeus or whatever guy, but I don't have him
I run Fomortiis, Arval, Ascend Plumeria, and Valentine Lyon. Enemies basically never get a turn and those that do can be nuked out since I have Bonus Doubler on Arval. FEH doesn't have power creep, it has power dandelions with how fast new strengths come in and old ones are cut out.
@@comcody25 I gave like 100-200 orbs as ftp player trying to get val Lyon. Didn't happen, so I've little motivation to continue, can't keep up with the meta
@@timothyn4699 Another big problem right there, the rates are abysmal. Honestly, a good way to fix it would be to create things where you can at least work toward getting skills and weapons. Like collect X amount of shards and combine them for a weaker version, get more to finalize it.
There's such a gulf in quality between Seer's Snare and Affinity Auto Battles
I was a day one player wtf I cant believe its been 7 years 🙃
i want to point how atrocious are the regular, summonable 4* skill options, they barely provide value, locking any semblance of utility behind seasonals, and even then barely, if you want a good skill you need a 5*, so there is no room to build units freely
I can't even get any dupes of the 4 stars I want
Your comment made me realize that we've only just gotten a tier 2 balm skill from a unit (Yuliya) even though they've existed for 6 years, and now the staff units have a different type of special to chase after. Balm skills weren't that good, but the multitude of demote healers they've released could have have some of the tier 2s.
Great video, dotsdfe! My main two problems with the game's design are as follows:
The current level of power creep: If you're from the banner before this one, you probably can't beat anyone on the new banner
Well at least the emblem units r futureproof. No matter what their extra emblem effects will never go out of use.
This absolutely aged like fine wine. Now we have the following staples on every team that screams "Let them move and you lose" whether in arena, SD, or Aether raids:
Emblem Ike - Tanks everything even meta heroes (except of course the newer brave units released this patch).
Looking at you Brave Felix
Brave Felix - speak of the devil, this unit is an annoying little shit that ruins almost all your pve runs.
So you always see her on aether raids and arena and its so annoying as well
And now we have the more annoying legendary male shez who can warp around everywhere and instantly end your runs in PVE as well as Duo Fjorm who is an absolute wall that essentially powercrept Winter Byleth after 9 months or so.
(RUclips, Reddit, Twitter, etc.)
I hate to write this massive text dump, but I really do enjoy the game like many others and just want to see it do better.
This is a amazing idea!
I remember when this game came out and Takumi yes just base Takumi was meta. Lol nice simple times
Also Hector, but they could both be countered with strategy and using your head
Also, easy-to-obtain 4* Reinhardt was a menace, but not to the point of the current meta.
@@MrJulio632exactly, it took some strategy. And actually using staff units to heal. Nowadays it’s nuke your opponents and run out of reach or nuke and rush forward your defensive D/R unit behind the nuke.
@@miraclechao that’s true too!
Wish I had more time to watch replays before they get deleted, those're fun, and setting up def and taking on others was very cleverly done
summoner battles in real time is interesting, or was, before the power creep. That's the bigger issue, if the ftp players can't compete at all w paid players and whales. When ftp players beat superior teams based on intellect and not just throwing money around, that's part of the satisfaction
in terms of pve, idk how you could make it interesting long term.
(Long comment incoming lol)
I really like FEH, which is why I keep playing it despite interest going down.
- Almost any skill of value is locked to five stars and they rarely give out any decent or recent skills
- Most male characters unless they are protagonists and some male OCs are treated poorly regardless of popularity, often given the free or demote slots with the worst kits of the banners.
Dont say grow man you make me feel old XD
It's always interesting when someone brings a new video about the state of the game. Unironically, things have not changed since 2 or even 5 years ago with lucky crits video addressing this
It took a really long time for Severa's base self to be put into the game.
They are already a necessary boost to make a huge number of units in the game viable because without them it would not be possible to make any unit at least viable (which is a very good thing)
And we can also talk about their skill duplication ability which allows you to obtain a huge amount of skill that would otherwise be very difficult to obtain.
The game obviously has problems in certain aspects but they do not come from these elements in question
Is Arena part of that 1%?
@@sigzbro for scoring obviously merge are usefull. But for this game mode the grail units serve as a completely sufficient bot score, no need to invest in something premium.
My point is mainly about combat issues
I'll happily await EoS & feel good abt not spending a cent on this mediocre cash grab. Fire Emblem deserves better
Commenting to boost engagement. Thank you for this gift my king o7
We can't even get that tome with the codes yet and it's already powercreep lol there's just no point
el que tiene mas texto en el arma gana xd
Commenting for engagement, and, yeah, think we're all feeling it.
@@dotsdfe
For what it's worth, I do think B!Alfonse will have staying power for the rest of the game cycle, since currently he's the only unit that can reach 99 atk/def during turn 1. Surprisingly cheap to do so as fodder wise he only needs Gregor if you want neutral IVs or summer Dedue and run attack boon (and +10 merge, and 4 individual copies of Mila, but honestly given banner reruns any dedicated f2p person could do it over time. You can even run it with below +10 merges if you ended up having enough copies of an Emblem unit to boost his stats that way instead.)
Until the day 99 in stats is not good, B!Alfonse will always have a place at minimum in AR offense light season.
As a day 1 player, never taking a break and seeing all the meta devolve into whale/kraken paradise, I just reached the point where this is a card collect game, I reached arena 20 once so I'm satisfied, but as you said, I'm waiting for Summer or Winter Echidna, I'll probably quit the game out right, there's nothing more and the devs are going the pokemon path of not giving a shit
(especially with the fiasco of the young tikis that the devs are beyond obsessed with)
I'm debating on quitting Feh soon after i finish my favorites
Getting burnt out again unfortunately but I'll just to stick to regular FE games to play the meta state is making it unplayable or not fun the story is either good or rushed
Loved this video, this was a great rundown of what’s…less good about FEH lol. Awesome stuff!
I'm still waiting for the dawn brigade
Well, she got a Prf., it sucked by standards set 3 years ago, it has 0 flavor, and now I just have to sit here with a favorite character that the developers actively despised since she appeared in Fates 😭
And immediately after her prf. released, the next book came out, and left her, and every unit that released before her wildly in the dust.
I’m just playing for potential alts of my faves by now 💔
Day 1 player here, still waiting on FE8 (Sacred Stones) Garcia, been constantly voting for him. But this past V-Day banner just irritated me because it was once again the main 4 that already get tons of alts
EDIT: I forgot to get to the point, sorry
my point is, my interest in wanting to keep playing in case my #1 fave fe character of all time comes out is waning as the powercreep gets more unbearable and his viability probably dropping the more time passes where the gap between demotes and premium units widens.
I like this Fire Emblem Heroes RUclips video of yours.
Obviously, the only way to fix Feh is with Feh2
(Fate grand order)
I'll be comparing the two games alot.
It's kinda sad to see that my gripes have only worsened over time and i'm glad i stopped playing.
You had to budget extremely well and only draw for the newest meta-defining unit to be able to do anything at all in PvP-modes like the arena or the floating island."
Agreed Pvp in this game is a hot mess. But I think if you liked the characters, art style, etc, you could find enjoyment of the game still, as long as just stop caring about pvp. The same way you would in fgo, just cause the pvp mode are there don't mean you need to tryhard in them
"On the other hand i have a game (fgo) that updates old Servants and sometimes actually makes them top tier again, hands out new outfits to gain in game (none can be bought via money) and gives very strong Servants for completing events."
Cap, 90% of old servants are bad forever, and most buffs are on limited SSR you don't even have.
(Which its not, but it made me feel bad and that is what counts in terms of player experiences)
For PvP or not PvP: it makes the game feel alot different.
I've been playing since year one... What do you MEAN it's been 7
hi dots
Hey.
I still like it lmao
Having AHR decided by VG is a mistake, PVP is a mistake, powercrept is everywhere, premium skills/items are obnoxious, scoring in arena is a mistake, these paragraphs in descriptions are a mistake, feh story narrative and characters are cringe and bad, summoning rates in legendary/mythical/engage ring are a mistake, free unit not being every color in a summon is a mistake
I still use Fomortiis, uber powerful and can just stop the game
he's good but gets stomped on pretty easily by some new units
I hate those units that automatically have nuking capabilities on turn 1 or 2, via AoE special attack, so like they attack and 1-3 units now have like 1-10HP.
