    Oh my.. I have seen your photos of your old basement! A regular customer of mine and I had a chat about getting a museum going, and he pointed out the photos you had with your basement. I was so impressed that I bookmarked your photos and would regularly look at them and show various people, until you took them down! I wanted a basement like your old basement...
    Anyway, I'm glad you are showing your new collection to everyone. I am trying to do the same with my collection that most of it is in storage, but it's not progressing like I want it to. Keep up the good work, and I just commented on your 1k subs video. You should find those photos of your old basement and do a walkthrough video of the stuff you had.

      That’s really cool. I’m glad you found me again. The old photos were on Flickr, so I guess Yahoo took them down or deleted my account. I still have all those photos, but I feel the tour by Lo Fi STL does the best job of showing off the space. I link to it in the description.

    Just now seeing this. Looks great.
    I have many of these systems but its frustrating in that I cannot display most of them.
    Its not that I live in a small place but my display of scifi scale models, vintage toys and board games, vinyl records, 8-track tapes, my wifes art work and doll collection I just dont have the room!
    The computer and console collection is the newest of my collecting addiction so has to take what is left over!

    As a vintage computer and video game system collector, I can really appreciate your collection of Apple Computers and video game systems. I really enjoyed the Octech all with vintage OS. I also have a collection of Operating Systems most of which are still sealed and in their boxes. It was great to see them all running again.
    What is funny is that the Commodore 64 is one of the modern systems in my collection... Thank you for sharing your collection with us.

    Very nice! You can very inexpensively network all your classic Macs and also systems like the Apple IIgs with AppleTalk for basic file sharing, non-internet use. Very easy to use as well. I once had a Mac SE, Apple IIgs & Macintosh Plus all on a AppleTalk network, in different rooms. One thing I noticed you may want to put with your Apple II, IIgs and classic Macs is either an original Imagewriter or Imagewriter II printer. Beautiful setup, thanks for the tour!

    Great collection! I have a similar one, but much less room to showcase and use them. I can't believe you don't have an original ATARI ST and 2600 console! You should add SUN, Alpha, SGI machines, Sinclair Spectrum, Acorn and Amstrad computers to fill the 80s-90s period gaps. And definitely transfer the old x86 machines into OLD cases because I was also tempted to use modern ones, but I went for a more period correct beige look.

    Awesome video! During the video I came to think of, maybe you could help me out. In '95-96 I had a friend who had a "high end" Mac setup with I think three computers because his dad was fancy - or something.. Two of which was laptops and one stationary I think. Anyhow, when I visited my friend we played SimCity 2000 on at least one of the laptops. Could you help me out with what kind of computers this could have been? I do not know if they were new-new, or a few years old.. But they were able to run SimCity 2000 quite well, from what I remember.
    I've never been much for Apple in any way, but just that specific laptop that I played that game on is a fond memory and it would be cool to get one today. Of course, playing the game can be done on any system today with pretty much any spec, but I would love to play it more "authentic" to my memory.
    Anyway, requesting help.. but if you don't know or don't feel like it, that's alright. But I would love the help if you feel like it :)

    • @JeremysRetroBar
      @JeremysRetroBar  3 года назад +1

      I came to the Mac in 2001 so I’d be guessing since I was on PC’s until then. My first Mac laptop was a PowerBook G4 Titanium. You might check out Mac84 or Action Retro those RUclips channels are long time Mac users and would have a better idea.
      A quick look at MacTracker shows about 7 laptops out during that time.
      PowerBook 540, 540c, 150, 550c, 500, PowerBook Duo 2300C, or the PowerBook 5300 series.

  • @bstar777777
    @bstar777777 2 года назад

    Can you point to where/how you fitted an AT bracket/panel to your modern cases? It looks like you 3d printed them, so any links to that would be highly appreciated. I have 6 working motherboard/cpu/ram configurations that I have no AT case for, so finding an appropriate modern case seems to be my only option. Ebay prices are absolutely absurd, AT cases are often going for 2x the price of a complete (386/486) system.
    Anyway, awesome, inspiring setup.

    • @JeremysRetroBar
      @JeremysRetroBar  2 года назад +1

      As long as the modern case has enough slots and is deep enough it’ll fit. I had a 386 motherboard that was too big for the NZXT cases I was using, but would probably fit in the bigger Fractal Design case. The only thing I did was purchase blank ATX I/O panel covers and drilled a hole for the keyboard connector. You can even find some on eBay that have the AT keyboard hole already.

    • @bstar777777
      @bstar777777 2 года назад

      @@JeremysRetroBar Thanks for the info... I found your 286 build video and that answered all my questions. I think buying a blank panel and drilling it out is the right way to go. I also didn't know those AT power adapters existed. I have a huge 486 server board that I will have to get create with. Anyway, great stuff.
