Fantastic review as you showed real life usage like putting it inside the 3L Peak Design Sling and even mentioned a few things that it did better than the 2018 Pro which I have been looking at purchasing. This new update to the mini is very attractive and I’m thinking of purchasing it over the Pro. Thank you 🙏
@@thatsginter I must have missed the notification for your reply. I just watched the video again as I am still torn between the small convenient form factor of the mini 6 and the added benefits of the 120Hz display and additional screen real estate of the Pro. How are you finding this device long term? did you keep the Pro and have you tried other apps with small tabs like Affinity Photo as my concern is apps like that may be hard to use without Apple optimising IOS for the smaller screen?
I’m on the fence and a late adopter. Got rid of my iPad Pro 2018 because of the preview and clipping mode. You just taught me how to do it and I’m like FK. THE 12.9 was to big anyway. Did pick up a MacBook Air. So maybe this mini will fit my needs.

Since it is on its last leg (but not dead) - I will likely buy the new Mini 7 when it comes out later this year. BTW I would 'NEVER" buy a bigger iPad as the Mini is simply a great portable complimentary device.
Great video and photos! I literally just picked up the iPad mini 6 today. Also coming from an iPad Pro 11 2018 model year. I’ve only had it a couple of hours and watching this video on it. I like the fit in my hand. But not sure how I feel about the screen size, so gonna give it a week or so. I also do landscape photography, so hoping it fits my use case as well as it does yours. Did it take you some time to adjust to the smaller size? Did you end up keeping the 11 inch? I’m debating whether I want to continue with trading it in or not.

Great video! I do have a question does eiditing your raw files on this iPad make your raw photos lose quality or Resolution I would love to hear back from you
Pretty dang accurate, I've seen some reviews say it's over 103% sRGB according to their tests. I don't really see a difference between my gen1 11" iPad Pro. And there is no air gap like on the regular iPad. The only difference you'd see is if you compared it to the newest 12.9" iPad Pro which has Liquid Retina XDR, which is Apple lingo for mini-led tech. That screen has higher contrast ratio & can get way brighter. Buuuut, it's a big tablet hehe.
Any chance of showing some editing on photoshop on the mini? Is it possible? Can we do layers? Many? Is skin retouching doable for commercial/fashion work? Thoughts?
Hey Brent! I do most of my edits in Lightroom CC (iPad) or Lightroom Classic (Macbook), so haven't dabbled much into Photoshop unless it's for specific layer/blending. Honestly, Adobe's approach to mobile Photoshop is confusing. They have Photoshop, Photoshop Express, Photoshop Fix, Photoshop Mix (the is the one I used to blend layers), and ya... I'm sure it can be done, but from a management and streamlined process I'd probably stick to MacOS or Windows. I think there are just more options/features with the full suite for professional workflows.

Thanks for your video great help, I just bought the iPad Mini yesterday and I can say you can't go wrong but they seriously need to put an SD card reader slot on the device, and maybe you could help one problem I have is increasing image thumbnail size when using the card reader, I can change the font size and that will increase image thumbnail size but the font-size becomes ridiculously large, this problem is only using the card reader, thanks
An SD card reader on an ipad would be pretty awesome...not sure they could fit it, but it would be nice! As for the thumbnails while importing...yes, that part sucks. It can be hard to see which shot is in focus or has good facial expression, so I've been resorting to doing my checks on my camera before importing to the iPad (at least until Lightroom updates this).
I have a Sony A7iii and I love that it has USB-C so I can plug it into my iPad and upload to Lightroom directly. No need to remove the card from my camera :)
