Nice to see a real review of this intake, mostly it's just a vendor pushing them in the forums. I'm extremely happy with my AFE, however I was on the fence between it and the S&B. The real performance improvements can be felt and noticed when you combine the intake with a cat-back exhaust, such a huge improvement when the 2 are combined. Today I'll be installing a URD MAF Recalibrator, can't wait to see what if any MPG and throttle response improvements I get by adding it
The intake looks great but the only thing I worry about is the tension on the wires on map sensor. I personally dont like having to zip tire the harness one way. Down the road can lead to harness problems. Too bad the company doesnt supply a harness extension
Loving all of the videos/playlists you make on these mods. Getting a late start to modding my rig and it’s sad to see the intake is still out of stock. Hopefully they bring it back soon and I can pair it with an exhaust! Quick question, what are your thoughts on the flowmaster FlowFX exhaust?
Thanks Jon 👍. How does this compare with K&N? My mpg is stated at 18.2, so high 19’s or 20 would be great. Looking forward to your other reviews. Also for LED lights, what’s their lifespan vs stock lights? Quite often Sylvania higher light replacement bulbs burn out quicker, I’m suspecting this would not be the case for LED bulbs.
My wife and I just got a 2019 not that long ago. Do they still need testers for the S&B air box? We live less than 30mi from Fontana. I they need testers, how would I see about being a tester? Thanks, and thanks for the videos.
Did you have the pedal commander on at this time? Currently my TRD pro is stock. I'm trying to figure out ways I could get a little better gas mileage out of mine. I'm right at 17mpg.
I did the TRD intake when Toyota had their anniversary sale about the same time Jon did the install of this. I’m getting a bit better mpg post install, a little over 21, but I don’t floor it to much either. But since my mom got sick, I’ve been doing a lot of trips under 2 miles to the folks house, and with that, it’s a little under 21, but still over 20. I use the Fuelly app to track mpg, because the computer is a bit generous. Usually a half to 3/4 mpg high. Only twice has it been on the money.
I still love the S&B CAI system. Great throttle response, amazingly fun noises, and decent MPG still! Could not be happier!!
What's the mpg gain?

Lemme know about that!
@BlackAckCl any update about your MAF Recalibrator
I do like these types of followup videos. Good to know opinions after the "new factor" has worn off.
Neeed to definitely do them more. Lots of mods to follow back up on.
19mpg Dame! I can't even hit 17 with mine lol
I cant wait to purchase the S&B for my 4runner
Youll love it man!
I dig the simple install and the simplicity of the unit. You don’t have all this fancy crap some other CAIs have.
More flashy things help cover up ways you regret spending your $$$ haha
@@TRDJon more truer words have never been spoken haha!

With a Tune, and exhaust update. Itll be seeing close 290 to 300 hp. Up 30 hp from the 270
Oh easily
Nice follow up video John! I was able to find a certain dealer who was willing to ship the intake to Washington then to me here in Cali. 😎🙌🏽
Heck yes!!! I hope you get it!
Watch at work on lunch break then watch agin at home to bring up those viewed numbers and throw a like on it 🤙🏽
You’re awesome man!!!

Glad you like them! I have the TRD on mine, great tone

It all depend on the brand for lights. And I can’t compare to k&n due to I’ve never installed it

How is the T8 head unit holding up, is it worth it?
How is the Sound quality,
You keeping the T8?
That video will be up later this week. I took it out and stock is back in it now.
@@TRDJon Would love it if Alpine got you an ILX-F309 FRN to review!
Agreed!!! I really have been wanting to look into that one
@@TRDJon The lack of videos, reviews, and images of those things in 4Runners is sorely and shockingly lacking online..
And yet still....just wait to see the difference when adding the Gibson exhaust
An exhaust is on the list for sure
I wonder how this would work with the SC. I would be down to try it but doesn’t look like there’s much room between it and the fire wall.
Sweet!!
So is a intake worth it? So many say no due to not gaining mpg. Not looking to hear cause it looks or sounds cool. I really need more mpg.
I have an MPG loop video in the playlist where I did a week long test.

Hey John who do I contact for testing I'm in the la area with a 19 4runner voodoo blue
DM then on Instagram. That’s where I saw them asking for one! 👍🏼👍🏼
what exhaust system do you have to go with the intake?
The stock one currently
Put some LED lights inside the filter chamber :) ..jk
Full ricer action hahah
