This work, which was awarded by the Gulbenkian Foundation, Association for the Peace of Religions in Romania (APAR), has the biblical motto:
"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; may they prosper that love thee. / Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. / For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say: 'Peace be within thee.'" (Psalm 122,6-8)
Five different layers of music suggest the idea of the sacred: one layer reminiscent of the primary orgiastical experience, a second one evoking the daily colors of the ancient Middle East, then the song of the Jerusalem Temple as reconstructed by archaeomusicological research, finally Gregorian and Byzantine music. The human voice becomes more and more powerful, and in the end it prevails over the instrumental sounds with the prayer "Adoneinu, Adoneinu… (Our Lord, our Lord…)", which is also sung in Romanian: "Doamne-al nostru, Doamne-al nostru…".
"Heteropsalmia" pentru ansamblu instrumental: clarinet, fagot, percuţie, sintetizator, chitară, vioară, violoncel (1991)
"Heteropsalmia" for instrumental ensemble: clarinet, bassoon, percussion, synthesizer, guitar, violin, cello (1991)
Ansamblul "Archaeus", conducted by Liviu Dănceanu
recording of the first performane (Bucharest, Foyer of the National Opera, October 2, 1991)
