Great update and nice to see Fort Pierce in there and I appreciate the reference! As you said yes I have lots of growth plans all on a timeline so we will certainly see an FSD in here in the future 😎

Howdy JJ! Great video! I am not a model airport builder by any means but I am an avgeek at heart from the area of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Do you think you could possibly showcase a charter flight to MKE in your January update on either United airlines or Delta airlines? Thank you! Happy holidays!

Great video! What’s that new source you’re using to gather flight/equipment info?

For now, talks with the first airline about DC routes have kind of fallen off. The current size and state of the terminal actually factors very little into the overall decision-making. It has to do with demand, aircraft usage, and politics. A DC flight on any airline to/from here would be on a regional jet, and airlines don't have a whole lot of interest right now in using their regional jets for flights like FSD to the DC area. Cedar Rapids and Des Moines might have them, but they are stretching the limits. However, we are a bigger market than Cedar Rapids, so FSD is trying to use that as leverage, but it'll take a lot more pressure to convince them. We've also entertained DC flight talks with another airline who is at least somewhat interested, but all of the same risks above apply. As far as international flights, we have the capability to run international flights as far as legalities and accommodations, but it's all about the demand, like you said. However, I don't think it's unreasonable to think that Frontier might throw us a Cancun route within the next several years (purely speculation, though). We definitely have the means to accommodate it on our side. Unfortunately, Southwest has said they have zero interest in serving Sioux Falls for a while. Any metro market that Southwest serves usually has a prerequisite of a 500,000+ population. The Sioux Falls metro is just over 1/2 of that size. We would essentially have to double our size as a city for them to bat an eye at us. We will very, very likely have new airlines that try us out before they do.

Appreciate your input! Hopefully us being larger than CID will help in any future talks they want to have. It would be cool to see Cancun; I see that starting off as a winter seasonal if F9 wanted to do that down the line. Unfortunate about Southwest though.

@@JJ_Skippy Definitely wouldn't mind if Frontier did it. Was thinking Allegiant would be more likely to add routes, but forgot they stay within the continental US. The SWA thing is definitely a bummer, but I think we can look forward to a new airline in the next several years.
