Being a teacher I can relate each and every word uttered by you mam. No job can be as soothing and self-satisfying as teaching is. I personally feel that the teaching profession should be glamorized in order to improve the education of the country. The biggest irony is that we become judgemental on assessing the potential and impact of a teacher in our life. A very few (or almost nill) students aspire to be a teacher, this is very disturbing and worth taken care of.
I am also a teacher when I started my teaching career bcoz of any compulsion I didn't wanna be a teacher but now this time I can't live without teaching bcoz it is a important part of my life I enjoy my profession ...........if sometime I disturb n when I go in school n enter in my class i forget everything when I see my students n start my class with new energy . Really it is best profession

Maam lack of passion or interest in teaching on part of teacher is also due to the restriction imposed on him/her. Giving no desk & chair to seat in class even for a while, involving them in too many activities besides teaching, blaming them for non completion of student's work even after delivering best teaching, making them stay back after school hrs., calling at work even on sundays/ holidays & paying so less with no extra perks. Will this working Environment ever keep the teacher motivated. We have made teaching learning child centered & neglected needs of the pillar of this process. Teaching is not charity. Teachers r also humans they have to live & earn their bread like any other professional. Our system just keeps on making things complicated. First students were overburdened & now teachers. Every element is important in this process for is success. Teachers should be also given perks & facilities at par with their profession.

Earlier I was just taking teacher training for getting a secured government job, now this discussion has totally changed my mindset towards teaching.I like this profession but I have never thought of being a teacher if I ever become a teacher(specially government school teacher),I will be very fortunate.

what I feel teaching is the one of those profession in the world which doesn't drain energy out of you, infact it adds energy to your body-mind system.
It keeps you away from all sorts of stress and depression also, since it involves engagement and interaction with children.
the only condition is , you should choose this profession only if it's your passion to teach.
