Heyy, It jumped from 40 to 48 because in an increase stitch you add 2 single crochets in a single stitch. So as you go on it gets added by 2, I’m sorry if it’s not that well explained but i hope that helped haha :)

Hii I’m so happy u love it!! For your first crochet project I think it’ll be fine as long as you know how to do the basic stitches (sc,inc,Dec) and if you know how to do a FLO and if ur fine with some sewing! But this pattern isn’t too complicated so I think it’s beginner friendly 💗💗

the difference is that you add another sc (single crochet) after the inc (increase)

Why in some rounds we need to use sc,inc,sc instead of 2sc,inc/3sc,inc. I'm new to crocheting and I want to understand the way it work ❤
randomly seeing this comment, i thought that i can answer haha its used to avoid the circle/form of the project to get edges? idk how to call it. like if you have 6inc every round (ex. 6sc in mr; 1sc, inc; 2sc,inc; 3sc,inc; 4sc, inc; and so on), sometimes it will be looking like a hexagon. and if you do it like the tutorial you get a more rounder shape
