I’ve just heard this song for the first time, coincidentally this is my first day living far away from my family in a new city, I have spent so many years living in my comfort zone, although with an environment that wasn’t doing me any good, that I’ve been desperate for a change, but now that reality strikes in its been so scary that all that can really calm me it’s this song, it’s hard to let go of things that make you feel bad, cause after some time you start to find comfort in that sadness. that's the thing with john frusciante is he doesn't like the idea of being famous. he's a very humble man who cares little of what others think of him. he writes music not to become popular or make money (although the album 'smile from the streets you hold' was made essentially to fuel his drug addiction). he writes music and releases it only so that those who actually want to hear it will listen. he would never change himself for others which is really cool.
