You can hear the en chamades at the end of the "the light of day". The organist at the Crystal Cathedral told me that he uses the en chamade at the end of Joyful, Joyful we adore you
Not true, some of the pipes in the gallery are being stored to avoid further damage since the roof is leaking water and needs repair. The entire gallery does not work, they have also disconnected the 16', 4', and 2' en chamades in each corner as well since they too are having problems. The fuses blow and they have been using the Moller console's parts to keep the Ruffatti console operating until the Diocese can do the full overhaul. It's in bad shape... very sad for a 30th anniversary year.
The Hymn has beautiful worthy length. I don't appreciate when they play snippets, as an ode to the past, especially with such a great organist and instrument. Must be to catch people watching before they switch.
Everything you say is true, except the part about being completely destroyed. Somehow the Ode to Joy theme, one of the most inspired melodies ever written, triumphs, even in a bad rendition.
It's to bad you won't play on RUclips the Crystal Cathedral's services from the early and mid 1980s in its heyday when Robert Schuller was its then main pastor. It's been on the decline since the Catholic church took it over! Quality is gone.God bless.
I miss these days in America? Where have we gone from these days? Thank you Dr. Schuler, Dr. Swan, Virgil!
It must be so fantastic, to be organist with this instrument. Maybe one day.......
Thanks for this upload. Sharing it now. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange, CA just purchased this.
Wow - what an amazing church!!!

Absolutely sublime.
The end of an era. 😩
this sound is so good
Glory to the Highest!
I'm not religious in the slightest, but this music is IMMENSE!
If she was not the head of the church the ministry would still be there
@ThePipeorganLover- yeah, would like his number for the music department at the Crystal Cathedral?

Does anyone know what version/ arrangement this is?
Johnnie Carl arranges it with Marc Riley.
Please let me know this church location
킴엠제이 Garden Grove, California.
huh, why are they changing the lyrics of ode to joy?
The world's understanding of righteousness: Bells and whistles. Dr. feelgood.
Shame that their family destroyed each other over power and influence. Reaped what they sowed.

google it up. I was able to see services from back in 1970's from old building (Archbishop Fulton Sheen, Norman Vincent Peale, etc).
None.
Lot of empty seats...
awful, hollywood action movie soundtrack with the ode of joy completely destroyed.
Most of the organ is gone. They appear to be parting it out (for money).
Nope. It's fully restored back to its original condition since the Catholics took over.
Can’t stand the Schullers.
