ToyShiz, Playmates is back into the discussion of TMNT. New designs and concepts of a favorite of old collectors, new fans, and most importantly kids. The toyline looks promising, playability and fun factor are evident. As a kid at heart these work. I am curious to see how further figures look and are executed. Excellent review ✌️
Just picked up a bunch of these today. I love em. Out of all the iterations of the turtles and their toys this line really hooked me. I love all the nods to the old Playmates line from the late 80s and early 90s. Takes me right back.
I know people have been very polarized over the new designs for this movie but honestly I like all of them but Splinter so far. Hoping Playmates does a lot of fun things with this new movie line and it does well!
This toyline is great! I was loving everything they put out minus the villains. They even have glow in the dark versions with their younger turtle selfs. Man Playmates did this franchise justice with the Turtles and vehicles. The price point is excellent too.
I owned the old school pizza thrower when I was a child, used to set up all my action figures and have target practice with it lol, seeing it redone is dope
Raph’s bike fitting into the new Turtle Van is a stroke of brilliance! I think Leo’s bike is a throwback to a similar bike that was part of the 2003 TMNT toyline. Thanks for the great review, TS! I just picked up the 6pk with April today. And I grabbed the Turtle Tots! I still have the kid Turtle figures from the 2003 and the 2012 line. They may not be as detailed as NECA or Super 7, but when Playmates rolls out a new line of Turtle figures it’s always a fun time!
I have a soft spot in my heart for the vintage line, even for all of it’s issues, but these are still really cool for kids today! The designs have really grown on me, minus rocksteady. I have no clue what they were thinking on that one. The turtle van is pretty cool though, might have to pick it up on discount.
I can’t wait to get mine, got all but Mikey then I checked Amazon yesterday and they had Mikey I got him, and then 5 minutes later he was gone again.. hopefully everyone that wants a set ends up getting them. This is the first turtle thing I’ve been excited for since the OG movie
Just bought Leonardo in the UK and love the figure. First TMNT toy I've bought in over 30 years and the nostalgia wave. It just frustrates me, that in the UK, they tarnish the figures with really invasive UK CE markings. Leo has one smack bang on the right leg, covering the upper, inner half. Big black lettering and stamp.
As a hardcore star wars collector... This new teenage mutant ninja turtles line is very appealing... Harkens back to 1987 when I collected the vintage turtles. Definitely worth collecting.
I saw these in-store today and grabbed Raph. I like him! Leg articulation is a bit awkward, but other than that, it's a really fun little figure! I'm probably at least gonna get the four turtles, and maybe the van depending on how I feel when I see it in-person.
The belts off the turtles can come off. I popped mine off so I could paint their sides in the back of their shells And Donnie’s Fanny pack can come off but idk if some of them are glued on there but all his accessories (except for the bandanna and elbow/knee pads) can come off And raphs other sai is tape on it I guess he broke it and taped it but they never show it in the movie of him breaking it
I just want the van Mostly. I was thinking it should work with the original & 2012 you forgot too. That should work with them. I might get the smaller vehicles on clearance one day. But I would get the battle cycle for sure. Love how it stores in back there.

I’m gonna have to get the Leo with the motorcycle just for his giant hands. The single release leo just doesn’t want to hold his katanas. They keep falling out whenever I hold him or move his hands/arms
I know you didn't show the glow the dark making of a ninja and I only found the Leo & Ralph. I kept searching for the rest online and in stores and still nothing at all, nothing even pops up that they even exist either.

I actually like them (for me) 10 bucks a figure, probably 17 bucks where i live, thats pretty good but you didn't say the price of the van.... and im surprise you dont have the BST AXN TMNT figures!?

Wish they had not gone so pizza heavy on the van. Nice that you can omitt some of the stickers if you want. But the giant slice on top is there to stay. I would have rather seen the spoiler or a manhole cover or anything else really. Aside from that I really like the design. The whole line looks pretty good, looking forward to the release.
The toys look great but the movie still looks like shit. This will end up tarnishing the TMNT name worst then the last two movies released by Michael Bay.
Too bad you can't put the sidecar on Leo's bike... that would look more like the old one. I'm not diggin the art style of the bad guys I wonder if Mondo Gecko will come with the Cheapskate...
Absolutely love the wagon, but I'd rather not use most of its stickers. They look cheap, like the "pizza" drawing. Also, I'd love to remove the pizza shooter...never liked it...

I just love the design of the turtles this time around. Feels classic with a modern look. This is the look to define the turtles for this generation

Just picked mine up today and there was a small factory defect, but it was missing one of the back steps. Not a huge deal but kinda annoying

Do the vintage turtles fit into the seat of the pizza thrower? Looks like it could be a tight squeeze.

Thought the helmet was removable but it ain't. But this version line was way better modern than the previous tmnt figures.
