Hey! Thanks for your review on the bike! I’ve been debating to get a Marin myself. Just curious though, do you think it’s worth the extra money to get the XR model over the one you have?
Nice, I actually just got a 160/150 rig too. I don't ride crazy trails, but I like charging DH sections and the extra travel gives me a bit of confidence for new features - not to mention comfort :P. Good looking bike too, Marin makes some great stuff
@@ToogyHowser sweet have not rode there yet. Looking forward to your video from that trip. I can highly recommend Bromont added plus they have a waterpark there as well.
I'm just a hair taller with a 33" inseam and find the XL perfect, but we are right on the cusp of L/XL. I guess it depends if you like a little bigger bike or smaller? I'm a pretty big guy overall, so prefer a bigger bike.
@@karlkrause6679 It is a big bike, it's going to be tough around tight corners, but it's manageable. There also isn't really a rear lockout, you can put it on firm and it climbs good, I usually just leave it open for climbing and don't really notice much difference.
Anyone notice that not a single video of any brand of mountain bike, can get the correct color of the...bike. It's not a question. Serious. About fifty videos of the Alpine Trail 7, with fifty shades of green. Even the Marin website is incorrect on the exact appearance of the color. WTF?
That is true, for the price, I don't think you can find a better enduro rig out there than the Alpine Trail 7. We went to Le Massif & Mont Saint-Anne bike parks in QC

I think it depends on how rowdy you expect to get? The suspension the XR is nicer and burlier, but also heavier.
@@ToogyHowser oh ok. But so far do you like the yari fork?
Is that the stock shimano hubs on that as they sound nice

yeah man, I like the extra travel just in case! it saved my butt a few times in Quebec this past weekend!
What width tires are these? Would the rear take a 2.6" wide Schwalbe tire do you think?
Stock tires are 29x2.6 so yeah 2.6 fit!
riding a 2022 Riftzone1 29 amazing value all around for Marin, ya where in QC are you heading out too?

I'm 185cm with a 34"/86cm inseam. Would an XL be too big for me?

@@ToogyHowser How did you find it around tight corners? And how well does the rear lockout work for climbing?

@@ToogyHowser welp, I did it. I pulled the trigger on an XL Alpine.
Watertower are my local trails too
Nice looking bike! Seems to work great...look forward to seeing more rides with it!
Thanks! it is so sweet!
does anyone know if I could put coil shock on the rear ?
yes you can easily.
First.

I don't know, the green looks pretty much how it looks in person, to me anyways.
No better value out there than Marin IMO. Tell us where you're riding in QC?
