COW KILLER STING! I Was WRONG???

YOWCH!!! MUCH different than my previous cow killer sting test! This one was a doozy! These solitary wasps are incredibly shy and quick to flee when danger rears its head, but they have been said to have one of the most painful stings in the insect kingdom! I wasn't impressed when I first tried the sting of this species, so when we found ourselves in suitable habitat for them I was curious to try this experiment again, and man am I glad I did! Were you surprised by how much more this hurt me? Let me know in the comments!

Damn, I'm impressed also. I was stung by one as a kid and I still remember how bad it hurts 30 yrs later. But to get stung 3 times and still hold it to let it sting you the 4th time. Now that's dedication.. my hats off to you brother

Thats literally stolen line from coyote 💀 im not comparing them, but its dumb how u said he does this when coyote does that exact same thing. Literally says the line "they are not out to get you" all the time
I looked into how stings and pain from them affects different people. It turns out everyone has a different threshold for pain and stings.
Then Coyote might be faking somewhat hoping his yells and flopping around increases views. I watched all of his for this reason so....
Cayotee is NOTHING compare to him. I hope his channel gets much bigger! He deserves it
Cayotee loves the dramatics and the ad revenue, Jack seems to love insects and lecturing...
Many of these channels wouldn't even exist if Coyote Peterson hadn't started the whole concept of getting bit/stung.

Hahahaha!!! Jack, that look on your face was the funniest......it was a classic surprised expression that got me rolling. I've told people in my survival classes that regardless of the fact that like species generally behave in a predictable manner...every animal is an individual and can do what they want or have a bad day. Your first "Velvet Ant" could been a "pacifist" or maybe she realized you were not her target species. This one could've been a very cantankerous "Velvet Ant" and had a bad day....maybe her neighbor was trying to steal her burrow or maybe her neighbor stole her eggs host. Anyway, great video Jack and stay safe.

You have balls the size of basketballs. Thanks for showing us this kind of stuff man.
This was an interesting test, I was impressed by the power of her sting but you managed it well. You’re definitely right about velvet ants being super reluctant to sting if handled gently or left alone, Dasymutilla are quick-moving but not unpleasant to handle. The sting to the finger had to been the worst. A full blown sting there would have been a tear jerker! Love your Hollywood act Jack!😅😅😅😅😅😅
It's interesting how different people experience pain though, I'd probably be rolling around dying
Coyote is overly dramatic, but maybe some people do have more pain receptors, or more sensitive pain receptors, or something.
Serious question, has the “other guy” ever addressed his extreme reactive behaviour post-sting in comparison to the calm demeanor of the sting reactions on this channel?
He has not

This is a great video. Good you didn't write the 'cow killer' off after your first experience. Luckily it gave you 'let me go' warning stings before the main sting. I remember stepping on one barefoot when I was around 4 years old. It got me with a full sting on my foot. When I fell to the ground and she still had the stinger buried in me. I couldn't walk for a couple days. Just like the video they don't like to use their venom unless threatened. Liked the way you let her crawl on you.
Coyote Peterson got stung once, cried and over reacted for views... this guy gets stung not once, not twice, not three times, but four whopping times and does not shed a single tear. Genuinely genuine.

I found this channel while seeking validation on the red paper wasp. I cannot watch Coyote Peterson. His dramatic performance makes me feel like a warrior, but I’m looking for REALITY. After feeling like I’m not losing my pain tolerance, I’m looking into other insects that are common in my region. The guy across the street from me sees these daily.
Another one taken for the team. Great vid as always. Look forward to the next vid 👍🫡
In my opinion so far from all the insect stings/bites the black widow spider is the king thus far based on your reaction. It definitely pumped quite a bit of venom in you and put you down for a bit definitely the king so far in my opinion!
I was glad you were able to find an active stinging one! When I was a kid in the early 70's we used to run around barefoot quite a bit and I've seen people step on them and take a sting on and between the toes! It was screams from those that convinced me to just go ahead and wear my shoes!
It’s funny to think as humans we consider ourselves as top dog but sometimes something so small can make us cry like babies 😂😂😂
Hey Jack, could you please do a video summary and list the order of the most painful stings/bites you’ve had so far from least to worst? Or at least do a top 10? Maybe you could mention an educational fact about each insect too. Thanks!

Don't need to wait for this guys opinion, when I was 16 I went down to southern coastal alabama to spend summer with some cousins. They lived only a few miles from the beach so we were there nearly every day. The water was a brilliant bluish green emerald color and you could see your toes standing in water up to your neck and also see the ripples in the sand bottom. We stopped one day on the way back from the beach at a convenience store for something cold because we were hot, dry and thirsty. We were heading to a fresh water creek swimming spot they called the blue hole. There was a rope swing out over the wide spot in the creek and the thing was to swing out over the hole, let go and drop. We had done that a few times when some young ladies showed up so we were talking to them and getting to know them when one of them yelled and pulled her foot up. I looked down and saw a bug and bent over to pick it up. Everybody started hollering not to touch it but about 5 seconds too late. It was a cowkiller. It felt like someone hammered a red hot nail into my fingers, I got hit three times, and then hit my fingers with the hammer. My finger were swollen to about twice normal size and felt like they were on fire inside. Some older guys there brought me an ice cold can of beer and said just hold it where it hurt. Another opened a can and handed it to me and said that's so you can treat it from the inside. It wasn't my first beer but it tasted about as good as any or better in the last 55 years. Oh yeah that girl that the cow killer had been on kissed me for trying to save her. She kissed me again when she found out I was a visitor. Her and the other three kissed me when they found out my birthday was the next day ( it really wasn't but my cousin said he wanted to see what my "girlfriend" would do but told me he didn't expect all of them to react. We went back the next day and took the ladies to the drive in that evening. Yeah they still had drive ins then.
:0 atleast it had a happy ending, how long did the pain last?
lol that's an awesome story 😁 ThankYou for sharing 😂😭
Dude those stings you took was worth it, i remember being stung by 7-9 vespula squamosa at the same time. I stepped on their nest without knowing while being out fishing with my dad. All i got was: go lay down and tell me if you want anything...😂
Cool story but not everyone has had this kind of adventures so I need "this guy's opinion" and I would need it regardless because I just love researching about this.

Bro u savage af to take stings like that. Great content here on the channel 👌🏽‼️💯
Just so you are all clear: Just because someone expresses how much pain they’re in or they remain quieter, that doesn’t mean someone is tougher or not. You can’t indicate someone’s pain level to another simply just by that. If someone truly wasn’t tough enough to handle the pain then they wouldn’t or couldn’t go through this sort of scenario.
Hi looks like a good video is coming SOON can't wait for it.
I got bit by one in Georgia and I’d say it was one of the most painful bites ever
Man, Coyote is an embarrassment. It's even worse that he does it under the guise of science/honesty, but his vids are pure hype and fear mongering for views. I'm somewhat of an "enthusiast" myself, in that I try stings sometimes, just not for videos. So I reference your vids all the time to see what I'm in for. I appreciate your work. Thanks for not sacrificing integrity for views.
I will never forget the pain of the bumblebee and the wasp. but this hurts more
You know this one really hurt when he reacts like that 😂
Mad respect for testing to see if the first one was perhaps a failed experiment, and giving it another go. You could have been ignorant and chose to just dispute with people that these insects were capable of an extremely painful sting, and I wouldn't have really been able to blame you for it. During that first video you really did gave the first one a good chance to show you it's full effects and for whatever reason it didn't live up to the hype. And that was your honest experience, so you would have been justified in thinking that maybe it's pain has been exaggerated.
But as this video proved, not every experience is going to be identical. It's crazy to think even the super quick "warning" stings were wayyyy more painful than the original video. I wonder what exactly is the mechanic behind the drastic difference in pain levels. Maybe you did simply catch the first one on an "empty tank" like you mentioned, or maybe it was that reluctant to use its venom on you.
I also wonder if there's a chance some bodily function such as endorphins had anything to do with the drastic difference. My thought process is maybe during the first video your body was producing a pain killing endorphin rush, because you were expecting an extremely painful sting due to the hype. But in this video maybe you "let your guard down" a bit more since you were expecting to get let down again.
Either way, it's very interesting to see the difference in multiple experiences with the same insect sting.
I found 1 of these on my porch about 23 years ago. They are actually so beautiful, yet terrifying looking with massive mandibles. I have never seen 1 again since that day.
