Miss the old days, but I do remember.I lived in reading pa I got to see A J ,MARIO, LARSON , PARNELL I AND all those guys race.I went to Langhorne from 1956 till the day it closed.I went to Reading from 1954 age 2 till the day it closed.Loved every minute.Still miss the offys.
No one out runs A.J. such great memories for us that remember that '61 win. I was a kid and we all gathered around the picnic table while dad manned the BBQ us boys would be listening to the 500. Really was the greatest spectacle in racing and we all dreamed about being in its someday. Then dad would take us to Flat Rock or Mt Clemens and the dream would continue. Sure miss those days.
Good ol AJ. If he didn't kick your ass on the track he just might up and do it off the track. He's a true legend and all joking aside a pretty nice guy.
@@SAVikingSA and you got young money he can drive and win in just about anything, they still have yet to get him into an indycar but larson has won in nascar and all kinds of openwheel on pavement dirt it dont really matter, even the last hoosier 100 I belive he won. but hes not from the same old cloth these two were cut from in a differant time.
What an amazing video! Those two are cut from the same cloth and they know it. Two wild longhorn bulls thats been there and back. 30 years don't make no difference!
I remember one NASCAR race when AJ pulled into the pits he had a 4 tire change.he no sooner pulled out of the pits and all 4 wheels came off.Needless to say he was not a"happy champer".Anyone else remember that?
Got to meet AJ once. My dad was a machinist at Drake Engineering and we got invited to Ontario on one of the practice days. I only remember AJ as being one helluva nice guy.
I miss the roadsters and the guys like A.J. I suggest you watch old videos of A.J. and his contemporaries run the dirt cars! NOTHING like watching A.J. in a midget on dirt! I was there when he ran the Champ Cars and midgets on dirt! Watch and Learn!

A.J. Foyt is absolutely #1! I LOVE ANTHONY JOSEPH FOYT!!
I love seeing those two together. And the Roadster is awesome.
That is so awesome. I was 9 years old.
Tony, now that you retired from driving Nascar, it's nice to see you get to do some "bucket list" stuff. Enjoy!
Dayum AJ done got big! What a talent. I forgot how dominating and versatile he was.
I was at IMS the day he retired.

An enormous honor. Nothing like the sound of an Offenhauser.
How cool is that! Straight out of the IMS museum....and race ready!
Very

I saw that or something like it happen to David Pearson once, but never HEARD of it happening to AJ.

This car is as old as me but it runs and looks better than me.
Too cool. Wish Foyt would've taken a couple maybe he did
AJ and Tony trash talking each other.
Thepolarcat
Tony's probably one of a very few that could honestly do that with AJ.
Tony , if you had been there 30 years earlier , you may NOT have survived it . What a cool day though .
The 2 greatest .. A.J. IS WITHOUT THE MAN ... DROVE IT AND WON
Those two look like father and son.
Can I drive it also A.J.?
Is that an external oil tank on the left side?
Yes.
Yes. A dry-sump type oil system .
This is fun to race, but the title of the video is really misleading. "Race"? Come on.

Not much of a race
Wait Roadster Rookie? Hasn’t Stewart raced Indycars before?
The modern rear-engine cars aren't known as "roadsters"
