Can You Fly With Marijuana? It’s Complicated
I was bartending at an event at the National Archives building in DC one day and as I walk through the metal detector, my bag is going the scanning machine. Security asks me "What unit are you with? Im confused because im not law enforcement. Hes like "There are handcuffs in your bag.." i had to explain to him & his lieutenant that they were for roleplaying purposes with my lady, not for impersonation of a cop 😂
I flew high on frontier airlines. It really turned flying a no-frills airline into a super comfortable and relaxing experience. I nonchalantly went through security. The boarding process felt like I am waiting in line for a very positive experience and the boarding pass scanner beeped and told by the gate agent to enjoy my flight and everything went North. The seats felt a lot comfier than usual, so comfortable that I have difficulty keeping my eyes open. Every crew voice turned into ASMR, the flight safety briefing helped me dose off, and fell asleep throughout the flight with vaporwave music in the background. Basically, the best flight I ever had. Food for thought, I highly recommend consuming a strain that is low in anxiety, has euphoric effects, has no energetic properties, and induces strong relaxation which I did BTW. If you plan to fly while high, a plane is a plane and you will have an awesome flight whether it's Frontier or Delta.

I took an edible candy about an hour before my flight from Prescott, AZ to LAX. In Prescott boarding was on the tarmac so that only heightened the experience.

Weed is fine on domestic flights in Canada. Canadians were actually concerned when Air Canada diverted a flight to the USA due to an emergency, and some passengers had cannabis (it is legal domestically).
Years ago, I was on a bus from the US to Canada. At the border, Canada brought a dog on the bus. It sniffed out one guy's pocket. He pulls out an empty baggy. The Canadians take it and tell him he can pay a fine for smuggling less than one gram of pot and be banned from from Canada for life, or he can get locked up are wait for a hearing. He chose to pay the fine and get banned from Canada. Americans with any criminal conviction of any crime, that is also a crime in Canada, are banned from entering Canada too.
The contents of the amnesty boxes are destroyed... a few ounces at a time. They sometimes roll it in paper to help it burn. They have to closely supervise the burning. They have a special device to destroy marijuana...a hot box.

Since it's legal in a lot of states, it makes sense to buy weed once you land. Why take the chance to get caught?

Honestly before 911, i stupidly flew with marijuana in my luggage from California to Georgia. It was my first time ever flying!!! I just turned 18 that month and the crazy thing , I had never smoked it in my life but a lot of my school friends did sooo…. That was my reason. That was the worst flight ever… so to speak!!!! You would think I had smoked it all before flying as paranoid as I was !! Never ever again!!! 😂

@@itzant2002 Are you trying to "deal", transport in large quantities? If not, then they don't care, they're not looking for it, dogs are only looking for bombs not for drugs. So carrying a couple grams or edibles, vapes. it's the least of their worries they can't really tell the difference if a cartridge has nicotine or THC or delta 8 etc, if an edible is just sugar or it contains THC and it goes on.

I have had 5 experiences in the last two years where people have smokes some type of weed device. There is not metallic ways of bringing in weed. I was offered by a neighboring seat holder to do a dab. I did not partake, but no body seamed to care that he was using it freely to other passengers. The flight attendants knew where it was coming from, it’s strong and smoky.. Denver flight for backstory.
I do not participate or encourage smoking any kind of device on a plane. Or any lithium activated battery should be discharged to bring on a plane: Not because of the weed but the fire that can come from lithium. Don’t bring any large lithium device on a plane, they can spontaneously catch fire.

The topic is as well interesting for Germans that have a medical reason to use it.
As far as we know here in Germany, we have to announce it at the embassy first to get a permission, while we send in to them the documents from the doctor..

@@JamieRHubert there are a lot of people that fly with their Chinchillas (a pet that can get up to 20y old, and casually lives in the highest mountain region of chille)
So it's not like they wouldn't handle the pressure while flying, it's more a issue of some companies that not allow to take all kinds of pets with you.
Anyways, it's more comfortable than some days/weeks on a ship just to arrive at the other end of the world for a few months
Marijuana is still illegal in a number of places in the world. Don't get caught in Asia with marijuana. So... again, use your head.
Also remember when you travel, you are subject to the laws and jurisdiction where you travel to. If you travel internationally, the US Constitution and rights don't follow you to the international location. So if you end up in Singapore, you have the Singaporean law to deal with....not the USA law.
Asia needs to lighten up.

The amnesty boxes are specifically after the security checkpoint so you can chill in the airport and dispose of it before getting on a plane to a place where it can be an issue.
But if you’re traveling domestically just to another state and you make it through the initial security there should be no issues landing. Like you’ve already made it right?
@@alecpeterson6623You SHOULD be okay in theory yes but if you’re flying to TX for example you are risking a felony. Odds are low you’ll be caught landing in TX but if you are you will go to jail

How do security know that you are flying domestic or international? I'm sure they don't check carry on luggage if weed is allowed on a plane? The xray guys dont check the tickets.

Personally, I think the top priority is the SAFE banking act, or some equivalent. due to the cash only aspect of the business being taken advantage of by the Cartels, since there isnt a way to have a paper trail outside of receipts.

Actually;
1. Airlines are privately owned or publicly traded on the stock market which, makes them allowable to have policies that may infringe on your rights.
2. They are Federally mandated (like the ships on the seas) and they are bound to follow federal law. (Where pot is illegal )
3. Your "bill of rights" give you alienated rights that the rest of the world may not see your way (i.e. China is a good example.)
4. Your refusal to fly only makes a seat available to someone who follows the rules.
